Decentralized trials have proven to allow continued recruitment and retention of patients, keeping trials and patients’ wellbeing on track, even during a pandemic.

For the past 15 years, MRN has been driving the successful implementation of decentralized clinical trials for the pharmacautical industry. MRN has spent over a decade advocating for a decentralized, patient-friendly approach to clinical trials, bringing trial visits to the patient in their own home and community. MRN successfully delivered a historical record number of visits in response to our most challenging chapter, helping their clients successfully navigate the Covid-19 pandemic.

Both existing and new clients turned to MRN to help rescue their trials from imminent failure. New, rapid response teams and processes were created and implemented across the MRN business to continue to support trials. MRN service offerings expanded, and they continued to strengthen their alliances with suppliers.

Register for this webinar to hear experts from MRN and Magenta Therapeutics as they share their best practices in planning, implementation and integrations — things you need to know to successfully run a decentralized clinical trial. Combining AI and Automation in the SynFini™ Platform to Accelerate Small Molecule Drug Discovery, Upcoming Webinar Hosted by Xtalks

[ad_1]

Register for this webinar to hear about how the SynFini tools work independently and then how they fit together into seamless AI-data driven automated solutions for drug discovery and process development are presented.

The rate of chemical discovery and development is hampered by the fact that chemistry is still inherently a manual process. In an effort to improve and accelerate the reproducibility and transferability of chemistry, we have developed an automation platform named SynFini™ that automates the design, reaction screening and optimization (RSO) and production of target molecules.

SynFini includes three core components. A computational tool, SynRoute, develops synthetic strategies for molecules of interest. A high throughput RSO platform, SynJet, enabled by inkjet printing uses statistical design of experiment (DoE) to validate these strategies. Automated analysis of the RSO results facilitates the preparation of digital synthesis protocols that can be downloaded to a bench top multistep synthesizer, called AutoSyn. AutoSyn is a flow chemistry workstation capable of performing synthesis routes at the milligram to gram scale while automatically capturing all synthesis parameters in real-time into a new automated chemistry reaction database.

To accelerate multi-parametric optimization in drug discovery, artificial intelligence (AI) can be included to aid in the design, selection and prioritization of target structures with desired properties, and can be interfaced with SynFini automated synthesis and bioassay testing for rapid ‘design-make-test’ cycles. We are also using the core SynFini components for process development to provide synthetic route and kinetic data to create ‘digital twin’ computer models of continuous manufacturing systems for APIs that enable direct translation of scale-up from bench to multi-kg/hr production in one step.

Register for this webinar to hear about how the SynFini tools work independently and then how they fit together into seamless AI-data driven automated solutions for drug discovery and process development are presented.

Join Nathan Collins, Chief Strategy Officer, SRI Biosciences, A Division of SRI International, for the live webinar on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at 1pm EDT (10am PDT).

Posture Reminder T-Shirt Reaches Kickstarter Funding Goal in 3 Days

[ad_1]

The Posture Reminder T-Shirt

“Wearing the Posture Reminder T-Shirt is like having a personal “posture coach” gently training and guiding you throughout the day to maintain an optimal, healthy posture,” says Mohsen Ahangarani, co-developer of the shirt.

After more than two years in development, the answer to good posture is finally here:

The Posture Reminder T-Shirt is a comfortable, fashionable short-sleeve T-shirt that gently reminds and trains the wearer to maintain proper posture, and in the process helps eliminate the body aches, back and neck pains, muscle fatigue, rounded shoulders, forward head posture, and potbelly that often develop as the result of practicing poor posture. The innovative T-shirt derives its posture-perfecting power from a network of interwoven elastic bands arranged according to the human muscle map to optimally position and support muscles and joints.

“Wearing the Posture Reminder T-Shirt is like having a personal “posture coach” gently training and guiding you throughout the day to maintain an optimal, healthy posture,” says Mohsen Ahangarani, co-developer of the shirt.

The Posture Reminder T-Shirt is a project that Mohsen and his friend Cristiano began to develop more than 2 years ago due to concern over Mohsen’s bad posture — a direct result of gaming and working with computers for more than 8 hours a day for 20+ years. Over time, some of Mohsen’s muscles had become greatly overused and other muscles had become badly underused, seriously affecting his posture.

‘I purchased and tried many different posture-correcting products over the years and found none to be very effective, let alone comfortable. Some looked too weird to wear in public,” says Mohsen.

Fed up with the lack of options, Mohsen and Cristiano decided to develop their own posture-correcting device.

Together with an R&D lab based in Tunisia, they conducted research, trials, and testing to develop a wearable product that was not only clinically effective but was also comfortable and stylish.

“Our main objective was not to design something that imposes and forces the body to stay in a specific position, because that is not comfortable and can be very annoying, but to make a product that can teach the body and remind it to move and keep proper position and reset the muscle memories to stay in a correct posture,” says Mohsen.

The Posture Reminder T-Shirt is made exactly with this idea, using elastic bandages to stimulate the muscles and body sensors with a light pressure to make the muscles react and move to the correct position.

Launched on Kickstarter May 19th, the shirt reached its $5,000 funding goal three days later on May 24th.

Juanita Werrett’s newly released “Balancing God, Science, and Technology in the End Times” is a potent look at science and religion in modern times

[ad_1]

News Image

“Balancing God, Science, and Technology in the End Times”: a powerful discussion of the end times. “Balancing God, Science, and Technology in the End Times” is the creation of published author Juanita Werrett, a dedicated wife, loving mother, and lifelong student of science and religion.

Werrett shares, “It is critical in this day of discovery and augmented scientific knowledge that we come to an accurate balance of understanding between foundational science and foundational religion. We are facing a technology that is moving at enormous speed. We need to understand the precarious status of humans as we enter and live through the future technology era that is upon us. Humanity could be negatively affected by technology either unintentionally or by design. As we move forward, ethical and moral decisions will be confronted as to how we manage AI (artificial intelligence) robots, avatars, and the huge data-gathering process associated with the tech industries being formulated at this moment. Controversy will rage, but solutions will percolate. The truth is, you and I are ‘the product’ in the new global technology paradigm, and our information will feed AI, ‘the data-eating beast.’ Pandora’s box is open. Science and technology are leapfrogging forward at an exponential pace. There is no mechanism to stop it…except God!

“God’s children are weighted and wired for spiritual success. True doctrines and ordinances of the Gospel of Christ fortify faith and give Christians hope in His return. Spiritual development and power comes to those who are prepared and willing to stand with Christ. The fuller blessings may be ours in spite of the underlying challenges. Perhaps it is fortunate that we live in the fullness of time and the fast-approaching premillennial era. The righteous will be saved in life or death. Some may be blessed to witness the glorious Second Coming of the Savior.”

Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Juanita Werrett’s new book is an intelligently crafted examination of what could be on the horizon for mankind.

Pairing a love of science with devotion to Christ, Werrett provides a stirring examination of the ever-evolving world in relation to prophetic scripture.

CARD Founder Dr. Doreen Granpeesheh Establishes Endowment for Multidisciplinary Collaboration to Enhance Autism Treatment

[ad_1]

Logo of Center for Autism and Related Disorders, LLC

For more than three decades, Dr. Granpeesheh and CARD have been dedicated to enhancing treatment efficacy through evidence-based clinical practices, research, and technology development.

The founder of the Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD), Doreen Granpeesheh, Ph.D., BCBA-D, has partnered with the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI) to establish The Doreen Granpeesheh Fund to enhance autism treatment by encouraging collaboration across disciplines. While individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) often receive services from many different treatment providers, interdisciplinary collaboration is not common practice. The purpose of the endowment is to bridge the gap between behavioral and biomedical treatments for ASD.

Applied behavior analysis (ABA) is a well-established treatment for ASD, which involves the application of behavioral principles to reduce challenging behaviors and promote skill acquisition. If left untreated, co-occurring medical conditions prevalent among individuals with ASD, including sleep problems, gastrointestinal problems, anxiety, and seizures, may exacerbate challenging behaviors and diminish treatment response. The multidisciplinary treatment approach, which is the focus of The Doreen Granpeesheh Fund, cares for the whole patient, optimizing treatment efficacy and improving patient outcomes.

In a previous news release, ABAI stated, “We are most grateful to Doreen Granpeesheh for her generous donation of $100,000 to establish a fund in her name. The Doreen Granpeesheh Fund will be dedicated to introducing our community to other disciplines to develop and collaborate on more comprehensive interventions to understand and treat autism.”

For the first time, the fund will sponsor presentations from biomedical experts at ABAI’s annual conventions, among other initiatives, to encourage interdisciplinary collaboration. By improving behavioral analysts’ understanding of biomedical treatment practices, they will be better equipped to seek interdisciplinary collaboration when it is in the best interest of their patient.

“My endowment supports the establishment of ongoing training for behavior analysts on the medical and biological complexities of autism. I hope these annual lectures will bridge the gap between biomedical and behavioral interventions,” said Dr. Granpeesheh.

This generous donation exemplifies Dr. Granpeesheh’s unwavering commitment to advance ABA treatment and improve the lives of individuals with ASD. For more than three decades, Dr. Granpeesheh and CARD have been dedicated to enhancing treatment efficacy through evidence-based clinical practices, research, and technology development. Cultivating a whole-patient treatment philosophy is another critical step toward helping individuals with ASD achieve their full potential.

The first biomedical presentation sponsored by The Doreen Granpeesheh Fund will take place at ABAI’s upcoming 47th Annual Convention. During the presentation, The Medical and Biological Complexity of Autism, Dr. Richard Frye, MD., Ph.D., will discuss medical comorbidities of ASD that may hinder successful habilitation if left untreated. The online presentation will take place on Sunday, May 30, from 11 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. EDT.

About Center for Autism and Related Disorders (CARD)

CARD treats individuals of all ages diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) at treatment centers around the globe. CARD was founded in 1990 by leading autism expert and clinical psychologist Doreen Granpeesheh, Ph.D., BCBA-D. CARD treats individuals with ASD using the principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA), which is empirically proven to be the most effective method for treating individuals with ASD and recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the US Surgeon General.
