Ortho to Discuss Data on Convalescent Plasma, Automating Extended Antigen Typing at Virtual AABB Annual Meeting

“We are determined to find ways to help our customers deploy precise and effective solutions that will enable them to maintain a high standard of care for all patients during the current emergency.”

Ortho Clinical Diagnostics, a global leader of in vitro diagnostics and the global market leader for transfusion medicine diagnostics, is pleased to announce a full slate of events at the 2020 AABB Annual Meeting, to be held virtually Oct. 3-5.

Ortho’s programming will focus on the company’s high-sensitivity and high-specificity COVID-19 antibody tests, convalescent plasma, the value to labs in maximizing their transfusion medicine diagnostics menus, particularly by automating extended antigen typing, and blood donor screening.

In total, Ortho will sponsor two “Science and Innovation” workshops, five additional scientific posters and a virtual booth that allows customers to schedule remote, real-time interactive demonstrations of the award winning ORTHO VISION® platform, the industry’s first fully automated blood bank analyzer, and online hosted conversations by appointment with leadership and members of the sales team.

“Driving research and sharing information are always essential, especially now amid the uncertainty of a global pandemic when people want answers,” said Bob Stowers, head of Ortho’s transfusion medicine business unit. “We are determined to find ways to help our customers deploy precise and effective solutions that will enable them to maintain a high standard of care for all patients during the current emergency.”
