Olympic Hot Tub kicks off its 5th Annual Founder’s Event. The event honors founders Alice Cunningham and Blair Osborn and their legacy of giving. This year, Olympic Hot Tub is raising funds for Pioneer Human Services. Pioneer empowers those coming out of incarceration and gives them a chance for change.
“Alice & Blair, both brilliant businesspeople, were passionate about a number of worthwhile causes. They shared a concern about the ever-growing plight of hunger and homelessness in our region and they recognized the importance of giving back,” said Olympic Hot Tub President Don Riling. “We are so pleased to help Pioneer Human Services in their mission to empower those re-entering society to live safe, healthy, productive lives through inspiration, affirmation and by overturning barriers.
Olympic will donate a portion of each Hot Spring Spa, Vita Swim Spa, Freeflow Spa, and Covana Automated Gazebo sale toward the Founder’s Event goal of $18,000. This donation to Pioneer Human Services will go directly to housing and job training… helping those in need build better lives.
Olympic encourages community members to donate directly to Pioneer Human Services, or a local charity of their choice. “Our company has always been focused on the health and wellness of our customers—one of the reasons we’ve adopted Better You…Better Life ™ as Olympic’s mantra. We think that everyone, regardless of their situation in life, deserves a chance for change. We’re hopeful our customers will agree and make our 5th Founder’s Event a significant contributor to Pioneer Human Services to help those in need,” said Riling.

Labels Create Barriers
We believe that words are powerful and can be very stigmatizing and harmful when used to label our citizens who are or were formerly incarcerated. Let’s be clear, the individuals are first and foremost human beings!
We all need to remember that people released from prison or jail share common and descriptive names with everyone else in society to include: grandparent, parent, son and daughter, extended family member, friend, neighbor, colleague, and employee. These are the only type of names that should ever be used to describe a person.
