“My goal for the book is to help people regain their quality of life and move out of pain; guiding individuals to return to everyday life with minimal discomfort”

Chronic back pain can be a bad link to dependence on opioids, anxiety, depression and a reduced overall quality of life according to a study done by the CDC. That same study showed that 28% of all adults in the U.S. suffer from various levels of back pain.

Anna Eshoo, a certified yoga therapist, has had personal experience with lower back pain and multiple surgeries that motivated her to put her knowledge down on paper in the form of “Yoga: A Journey into a Healthy Spine”.

“Not only did I want to learn to heal myself, but I also wanted to help others to heal,” Eshoo said.

Eshoo wrote the book to explain in detail, without overwhelming the reader, about the anatomy, functions, and dysfunctions of the lumbar and sacral (lower back) regions of the spine.

By providing a guide to understanding the basic anatomy of the lower back and whole-body integration, Eshoo incorporates breathing, meditation and therapeutic techniques to help readers restore strength and mobility to live comfortable, healthy lives.

“My goal for the book is to help people regain their quality of life and move out of pain; guiding individuals to return to everyday life with minimal discomfort,” Eshoo said.
