New England Cancer Specialists to expand patient interaction capabilities with Willowglade Technologies platform

We found that using a regular video conferencing solution created extra work for our staff and the patient experience was not ideal.

NECS is the largest provider of cancer services in Maine, with nearly 53,000 annual patient visits at locations across the state including Scarborough, Topsham and Kennebunk. They have also recently expanded to New Hampshire to serve patients in the Portsmouth area. This high volume demands consistent, reliable, high quality technology to support patient interaction – especially with the recent challenge of delivering care seamlessly during COVID-19.

Leveraging leading technologies is paramount in the ongoing effort to provide effective, safe care to all patients, as visits continue both in person and virtually.

To ensure this high quality patient experience, NECS has expanded their existing relationship with Willowglade Technologies to include Telemedicine Virtual Visit and Advanced Appointment Notification Technology.

The “in visit” telemedicine virtual visit experience for both patients and providers will be vastly improved because NECS providers can transfer virtual visits between various team members such as medical assistants, doctors, nurses and administrative staff. With the Advanced Appointment Notification module, patient will have the same experience when notified for their in-clinic appointments as they do when they have a virtual visit.

“Our focus is to provide leading patient care in both the clinic and virtual settings,” said Dr. Chiara Battelli, president & lead physician at NECS. “We found that using a regular video conferencing solution created extra work for our staff and the patient experience was not ideal. The Willowglade Technologies platform will offer our teams virtual visit workflow management and scheduling integration, while also improving patient experience through automated notification and easy management of poor internet connections.”

“Our aim has always been to improve the way in which patients communicate and collaborate with their professional care team, and our platform is the leader in providing this interaction” said John Papandrea, CEO of Willowglade Technologies. “we are extremely pleased that a leading cancer treatment organization such as NECS has confidence in the quality of our platform, our ability to deliver and our ongoing customer service.” he added.
