And, with balloon sinuplasty, there is minimal bleeding, less pain, less bruising, and the recovery time is quick compared to traditional sinus relief surgery. There is also no need for nasal packing.
As a safe and effective treatment, a balloon catheter is used to enlarge the opening of the sinuses so patients can get effective relief from the symptoms of chronic sinusitis. The normal anatomy and tissue of the sinuses is preserved with balloon sinuplasty, and the entire procedure is done in the office setting, according to Grosinger.
