“Through our partnership with Meridian, Hampton Family Practice will help shape the future of medicine and healthcare. Conducting these research studies enables us to expand the care options we provide for families and gives our community a way to potentially improve lives worldwide.”

Meridian Clinical Research, a leading multi-specialty site network, has opened a new site in Hampton, VA. Meridian is partnering with Hampton Family Practice, a premier provider of compassionate family care that has served the area for 45 years. The research site will be located within the Hampton Family Practice clinic at 9 Manhattan Square, Suite A, Hampton, VA 23666.

The following Hampton Family Practice physicians will serve as principal investigators for Meridian:

As principal investigators, the physicians will oversee clinical trials related to general medicine, including vaccine studies for people of all ages.

Nicole Osborn, Founder and CEO of Meridian, said the company is looking forward to making clinical trials more accessible to more Virginians. “Many of the patients we serve regularly travel from the Hampton area to our Norfolk and Portsmouth sites to participate in clinical trials,” said Osborn. “This will bring more research opportunities to Hampton, empowering more people to participate and ultimately support the development of new medications.”

“Through our partnership with Meridian, Hampton Family Practice will help shape the future of medicine and healthcare,” said Brian McCormick, MD. “Conducting these research studies enables us to expand the care options we provide for families and gives our community a way to potentially improve lives worldwide.”

Clinical trials (also called “clinical studies” or “research studies”) help determine if investigational medicines, medical devices, and tests are safe and effective. These studies offer a way for almost anyone — regardless of age, ethnicity, or background — to help move science forward. Eligible participants usually receive compensation for study-related time and travel.

Meridian now has 38 sites nationwide. The site will be Meridian’s third in Virginia and follows the company’s opening of a family medicine research clinic in Portsmouth last year. Meridian was founded in 1999 and has enrolled more than 85,000 participants into clinical trials since its inception.
