To assist hard-hit small businesses and help them with AB 685 requirements, MedExpert is offering its COVID-19 Compliance Solution free of charge to California companies that have 10 or fewer employees
REDWOOD CITY, Calif. (PRWEB)

To help California employers comply with the rigorous requirements of the state’s new AB 685 law, MedExpert International is launching its COVID-19 Compliance Solution (CCS).
The law, scheduled to go into effect Jan. 1, will require public and private California businesses to identify all potentially exposed individuals who were present at a worksite upon identification of a positive COVID-19 case, and then provide written notice within one business day to all personnel who were exposed at the specific worksite. In addition to documentation required by AB 685, every business with California employees must have a documented COVID-19 Prevention Plan, per Cal/OSHA safety orders finalized Nov. 30. Cal/OSHA can now issue “stop work orders,” fines between $5,000 and $127,254 per violation, and immediately shut down a business for non-compliance.
MedExpert International, a leading provider of current, accurate and unbiased medical information, has developed CCS to ensure compliance, and reduce the workload of AB 685 for human resources and other executives, says Maryann Mason, senior vice president of medical informatics. “The core functionality integrates with existing processes and systems, and provides a comprehensive and flexible solution for businesses without duplication of efforts.”
“Our CCS is an easy, cost-effective turnkey solution that will help businesses of all sizes keep their employees safe, remain compliant, and open for business,” stresses Mason. Key features include:
-
Fast, efficient: Fewer than 15 minutes from the start of registration through implementation. - Up to date: CCCS will maintain compliance by routinely updating required documents in accordance with CDC and policy updates, the release and availability of vaccinations, and other events impacting best practices throughout the pandemic
- Coordinated, current: MedExpert’s technology stays current with information, and supports automatic data exchanges with key county and state agencies to ensure timely integration of all notifications.
“AB 685 will create complexities and challenges for organizations of all sizes,” says Mason. “MedExpert’s CCS delivers a comprehensive solution that will reduce the burden on key human resource personnel. The infrastructure that we provide will allow businesses to maintain compliance with regulations while supporting employee safety and reducing business closures. At MedExpert, we want to ensure those who can go to work are able to return to and remain at work.”
In order to assist hard-hit small businesses, MedExpert is offering CCS free of charge to California companies that have 10 or fewer employees. “This is our way of helping those with the least resources to address the complexities of the requirements set forth by the law and those disproportionality affected by the COVID-19 pandemic,” says Mason. To take advantage of the compliance solution, employers can just log in, register, add their employees and worksite, and MedExpert will ensure the business remains compliant.
