Matthew F. Bruno, an associate in the New Jersey office of global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP, has been invited to join Rutgers School of Public Health’s Dean’s Leadership Council (DLC). DLC members provide feedback, leadership, and guidance to the Dean of the Rutgers School of Public Health; serve as ambassadors for the School; and cultivate philanthropic relationships on the School.
“We could not be more proud of Matt for taking on this impactful role,” said Philip R. Sellinger and David Jay, co-managing shareholders of the firm’s New Jersey office. “Matt is a dedicated, thoughtful, and passionate advocate for our local community. This year, in particular, has highlighted the need for strong public health leaders, like Matt, who will protect and enhance the wellbeing of their fellow citizens, while also creating a more equitable society.”
Bruno focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation, white collar investigations, class action defense, consumer fraud, and business disputes. He represents clients throughout all stages of litigation from discovery to trial. His clients range from Fortune 500 companies to entrepreneurs and start-ups, operating in an array of industries, including telecommunications and technology, entertainment, retail, health care, and life sciences. Matthew also maintains an active pro bono practice and is currently working towards securing the compassionate release of an individual whose medical conditions place him at a higher risk of developing serious health complications should he contract COVID-19.
The Rutgers School of Public Health notes its mission as the advancement of health and wellbeing and the protection of individuals living in New Jersey, the nation, and throughout the world from diseases, conditions and accidents, by preparing students as public health leaders, scholars, and practitioners. The school also conducts public health research and scholarship; engages with communities and populations; and actively advocates for policies, programs, and services through the lens of equity and social justice.
