The Lansweeper software shows all the discovered information in detailed reports. This helps IT teams a lot in detecting outdated and vulnerable software that is present within the network.

As of January 15th, 2020, Microsoft will discontinue the Windows 7 operating system. In other words: Microsoft isn’t supporting or updating the OS any longer. If you keep running this software, you are liable to security risks, vulnerabilities and viruses. That’s why Microsoft recommends upgrading all the operating systems within your IT environment to Windows 10.

The Belgian Scale-up Lansweeper, located in Dendermonde, is focusing on this problem, because more than 35 % of PC’s are still running Windows 7. This means a huge security risk and leaves companies vulnerable to cyber-attacks. With the Lansweeper software, the Belgian software company provides a complete and free solution to their customers: they can run a custom-made report to detect every outdated Windows computer in their IT network. A necessity, as large organizations cannot risk a security breach.

“We provide a complete overview of a company’s IT environment” says CEO Dave Goossens. “The Lansweeper software shows all the discovered information in detailed reports. This helps IT teams a lot in detecting outdated and vulnerable software that is present within the network.”

The Lansweeper research and security team is always on the lookout for new vulnerabilities, malware or other malicious software to inform and help their customers. “Since Windows 7 is used worldwide, we need to assist our customers in the detection of this vulnerability. That’s why we made a custom report, a how-to video and a blog post that explains every detail you need to know.”
