Landmark Furniture & Mattresses for Less President Brad Taylor Calls Out Fellow Furniture Industry Leaders in the Houston Area While Donating $30K

Mattresses for Less & Landmark Furniture have teamed up with the Houston Furniture Bank and have committed $30k to keep Houston children off the floor. This significant donation to the Houston Furniture Bank and the #nokidsonthefloor movement, aims to alleviate the “where to sleep” issue for children in poverty, who are sleeping on the floor in the Greater Houston Area.

Studies have shown that kids who regularly get an adequate amount of sleep have improved attention, behavior, learning, memory and overall mental and physical health. Not getting enough sleep can lead to high blood pressure, obesity and even depression.

In Houston, one in six families lives under the federal poverty line. 500K Houston families make less than half of that same federal poverty threshold.

Many of the families who come through the door at the Houston Furniture Bank explain they do not have mattresses for their children.

Mattresses for Less and Landmark Furniture owner Brad Taylor took to social media to help champion the #nokidsonthefloor cause by calling out fellow furniture and mattress retailers in the Houston area to step up and donate to this worthy cause.

“The truth is, anyone can help! It only takes $150 to get a child off the floor and sleeping comfortably on a bed set!” Brad said. “If we work together, we can help end this problem and help everyone rest more comfortably!”
