K’dara Curates Kits Advocating Wellness for All Women Amidst Pandemic

[ad_1]

K’dara, a woman owned and ran wellness CBD brand launches “Women Who Win” (WWW) on April 11th, an initiative to provide access to healing by curating Wellness Kits to women on Skid Row and teaming up with Water Drop L.A, a volunteer-led organization that provides water and other goods to communities facing water inaccessibility. K’dara hopes to tackle exclusivity head-on in the wellness and luxury space and ultimately shift the conversation on who deserves to live a healthy lifestyle especially during a pandemic.

The K’dara Wellness Kits are curated with custom-made PPE, organic feminine care products, organic snacks, and wellness pamphlets centered around self-breast cancer exams as African American women in poorer communities face a 40 percent higher chance of being diagnosed with Breast Cancer at later stages with treatments being limited and more costly with a poor prognosis. The kit will also include another informational pamphlet on how to handle an anxiety attack, as a thirty-nine percent of women reported significant mental health concerns related to COVID-19.

On April 11th, The K’dara team takes the next step towards inclusivity in wellness by showing up where wellness is needed most. Partnering with brands like Hello, an organic feminine care brand, and organizations like Water Drop, a much-needed conversation about access to wellness and who’s receiving it can truly start to form.

Founder Katrina Thompkins, a WOC Dallas-based Cardiovascular ICU Nurse sees firsthand the debilitating effects of chronic pain and sleeplessness as she works directly with COVID-19 patients. Inspired by her grandmother, Thompkins built K’dara to inspire all women to prioritize their own health. Thompkins will be joining her team on the first WWW event and is looking forward to speaking with the women on Skid Row.

“It is time for women to invest in their own wellbeing. WWW is the next step towards all women having the privilege to put their health first.” Says Thompkins. “To me, the wellness space, always seemed to lack inclusivity, I would ask, where are the women that looked like me? Luxury and wellness can be accessible to all – it’s all about the conversations we are having and the steps we take to get there.”

Water Drop aims to support existing organizers like K’dara to meet the immediate needs of the community. They are excited to join the conversation on what it means When All Women Win in the wellness space.
