iaedp™ to Close 2020 Virtual Symposium and Call for Proposals for 2021 Symposium on September 8, 2020

“While you can’t replace the impact of a live event with a virtual one, we came very close with the first virtual Symposium, especially considering the unlimited accessibility to all of the Symposium presentations,” said Bonnie Harken, Managing Director at the iaedp Foundation.

The International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (iaedp™), which successfully conducted its 2020 Symposium completely online in a virtual format due to Covid-19, will close the program for the 2020 Virtual Symposium on Tuesday, September 8, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. after nearly four months of 24/7 accessibility for all participants.

Concurrently, iaedp™ also will close its Call for Proposals for the group’s 2021 Symposium on September 8, 2020. This is in readiness for the planning and preparation for the 2021 iaedp™ Symposium currently scheduled for February 17 – 21, 2021.

“For more than 30 years, the iaedp™ Symposium has relied on our in-person event to provide all of our attendees with the required training as well as networking opportunities,” said Bonnie Harken, Managing Director at iaedp™. “While you can’t replace the impact of a live event with a virtual one, we feel we came very close with the first virtual Symposium, especially considering there were no schedules to keep and accessibility to all of the Symposium presentations were available to participants for just over four months.

“When the pandemic hit, we were able to provide an alternative that showcased the outstanding professionals who delivered fantastic presentations,” Harken said.

“With the close of our Call for Proposals for 2021, we are now planning for next year. We will let all members and Symposium friends know what to expect from us next year very soon,” Harken said.
