The HeroZona Foundation in partnership with the Arizona Department of Health Services, Travis L. Williams American Legion Post 65, Equality Health Foundation and African American Christian Clergy Coalition, is excited to announce that it will be distributing luxury Bota Hydration Backpacks to healthcare workers at COVID-19 vaccine and testing sites under the OneCommunity Initiative. The limited-edition bags are courtesy of real estate mogul Andrew Cohn, his wife Amy and daughter Alexa. Each backpack comes with a one-liter hydration pack, which holds the equivalent of two bottled waters. The backpacks are also vegan.

“We have always intended to help the community and give back with our backpacks,” said Alexa Cohn, owner of Bota Backpacks. “This has been a great and timely way to do so! We are so happy to have been able to participate.”

The OneCommunity Initiative’s focus is to provide individuals in underserved communities disproportionately affected by COVID-19 free access coronavirus vaccines, as well as free coronavirus nasal swab testing and food boxes for families in need. The initiative launched at Cortez Park on March 13 followed by an event at Isaac Middle School on April 3 and another at Phoenix Sunnyslope Senior Center on April 17. Additional events took place on April 10 and April 24 at South Mountain Community College, which is a permanent COVID-19 vaccination site under the initiative.

During these events, healthcare workers have vaccinated thousands of people.

“The frontline workers helping vaccinate underserved populations are truly the heroes of our community,” said Alan “AP” Powell, Chairman of AP & Associates – Strategic Alliances, U.S. Army Desert-Storm Veteran, and founder of HeroZona. “They are helping those at high risk stay protected from the pandemic, and for that, we want to thank them. With this gratuitous donation from the Cohn family, we’re able to give these brave staff and volunteers a token of appreciation.”

“We appreciate all of our volunteers and staff working at the state operated vaccination sites and other sites around the state,” said Dr. Cara Christ, director of ADHS. “ADHS is proud to partner with Herozona, Equality Health and others to show our appreciation to these critical frontline healthcare workers.”
