Shelly P. Emerson has enjoyed the therapeutic effects of coloring, puzzles, and mazes, and often used them to rest while recovering from her epileptic seizures. These periods of rest and recovery incentivized her to indulge her creativity, and she began creating puzzles and mazes with her own personal touch. She has recently released the newest edition of her puzzle book, “Spiritual Mazes & Puzzles: Second Edition.”

Designed to help readers dig deeper into God’s word, “Spiritual Mazes & Puzzles” shares bible verses, as well as brief messages accompanying each puzzle. Each puzzle is contained within recognizable shapes with unique topics, all hand drawn by Emerson.

“When I first started creating puzzles, they didn’t have any specific themes,” Emerson said. “After a few college art courses I learned that art has themes. After that I began to find inspiration from music, movies, and the power of prayer.”

As a born again Christian, Emerson wants to encourage readers of all ages to grow a stronger relationship with Jesus Christ and the Heavenly Father.

“I am not letting my epilepsy control my life,” Emerson said. “Jesus has been walking with me and guiding me daily since I opened the door of my heart and let him in. My book helps share his message of salvation and eternal life.”

Emerson plans to continue sharing her creativity and messages with readers in future maze and puzzle books.
