The work that the Institute is doing through the NAIC ISAO is highly relevant to a future where we will be living with artificial intelligence embedded in so many areas of cybersecurity.

Tortora Brayda Institute, a non-profit independent organization, for multi-stakeholder partnerships in Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity and Cloud, is proud to announce two new members to the Board of Directors: Guillermo Christensen, partner at law firm Ice Miller LLP and Office Managing Partner in Washington DC and Dave Treadway, former CEO at MarketStar, effective immediately.

“I am humbled by the joining of Mr. Christensen and Mr. Treadway to our Board of Directors. The incredible experience that Mr. Christensen brings to our Institute in the field of law and cybersecurity will raise the bar in terms of what our Think Tank will be able to achieve. Likewise, Mr. Treadway’s deep experience of partnerships and his remarkable success as a CEO will be invaluable to the Institute through his mentorship and inspired leadership.” said Carlo Tortora Brayda di Belvedere, Founder and Executive Chairperson at Tortora Brayda Institute.

Mr. Guillermo Christensen, partner with the law firm Ice Miller LLP and Office Managing Partner in Washington DC, combines his experience as a CIA officer and diplomat to advise companies and boards on cybersecurity and national security law. Guillermo has handled ransomware and nation state incidents for clients in the U.S. and internationally, helping with the entire incident response chain up to and including negotiating with the cybercriminals for the payment of ransoms. Drawing on his intelligence and technology background, Guillermo strives to guide his clients in all aspects of cyber security from complex risk assessments to counseling boards and leaders in how and where to dedicate scarce resources to the fight. Guillermo is a frequent speaker on national security topics including testifying on cybercrime for the Finance Committee of the U.S. House of Representatives and speaking to international audiences in South America, Asia and the Middle East.

In 2001-2002 Guillermo served as the CIA Fellow to the Council on Foreign Relations and is now a life member of CFR. He currently serves on the International Advisory Board for William and Mary and is general counsel for the U.S. Association of U.S. Cyber Forces. In addition to his international service with the CIA prior to becoming a lawyer, Guillermo served in Paris as the Science and Technology Advisor to the U.S. Mission to the OECD (2010-2011), where he was involved in the review of the OECD’s 1980 Privacy Principles, internet governance, and cybersecurity/encryption policy. As a teenager, Guillermo immigrated to the U.S. from Argentina.

“Joining the board of the Tortora Brayda Institute is a treat and an honor. I have enjoyed a number of ongoing collaborations with the Institute over the past two years that have been fascinating and highly productive. The work that the Institute is doing through the NAIC ISAO is highly relevant to a future where we will be living with artificial intelligence embedded in so many areas of cybersecurity — and we need to be watching for the bad as well as the good. I look forward to helping steer the Institute’s efforts and being useful to Carlo Tortora Brayda di Belvedere and the rest of the amazing Institute board and team,” said Mr. Guillermo Christensen.

Mr. Dave Treadway is an experienced executive with more than 35 years driving innovation and industrialization of channel partnerships within HP and subsequently as CEO of MarketStar. His experience is in line with the core ethos of the Institute, which is all about fostering strong partnerships. Mr. Treadway is particularly keen to focus on diversity, equity and inclusion in the technology industry.

“I’m excited to join the Tortora Brayda Institute For Partnership Excellence. I look forward to collaborating with the Think Tank team to address the most critical issues and to support the goal of “the use of technology innovation for the good of mankind,” said Mr. Dave Treadway.

Mr. Christensen and Mr. Treadway join a selected group of Board Members leading Tortora Brayda Institute.
