Gratitude USA launches Project Gratitude with a free, downloadable Gratitude Icon to provide the means for all Americans, adults and kids alike, to express their heartfelt thanks to essential workers, the unsung heroes of the covid-19 pandemic. Their courage, sacrifice, and selflessness in this time of crisis have allowed the rest of us to stay safe while sheltering at home.

The Gratitude Icon, available in both digital and hard copy formats, can be downloaded at no cost at https://gratitudeusa.org. Digital versions are designed for sharing on social media outlets. Hard copy options come in three sizes and are designed for use on mailboxes, refuse bins, backpacks, totes, windows, and yard signs.

“I developed the idea for Project Gratitude and the Gratitude Icon after realizing how profoundly grateful I felt for essential workers,” explains Gratitude USA founder, Helene Byrne. “These everyday folks truly are the unsung heroes of the covid-19 health crisis. Their continuing self-sacrifice plays a vital role in reducing the spread of the virus and keeps the rest of our families safe. All Americans owe them a profound debt of gratitude.”

According to social scientists such as Robert Emmons, the practice of gratitude offers numerous health benefits, including a reduction in stress levels and feelings of loneliness and isolation, and an increase in feelings of optimism, empathy, and compassion for others.

Not just for adults, Project Gratitude offers kids a fantastic home-based public service activity that empowers them to make a positive impact in their local communities.
