The Governing Board of Gila Regional Medical Center (GRMC) has contracted with HealthTechS3 to provide executive leadership and management support services to GRMC, effective June 1, 2020.

HealthTechS3 (HTS3) is an award-winning healthcare consulting and hospital management firm headquartered in Brentwood, Tennessee. They provide a full scope of financial and management support services, with a special focus on rural, sole community, and governmental hospitals with their associated clinics, providers and community services.

HTS3 will oversee operational and financial functions through an on-site CEO. Under the terms of the agreement, HTS3 will place a CEO, with the approval of the board. Scott Manis is currently serving as the Interim CEO, under the auspices of HTS3.

GRMC Board Chair, Alicia Edwards said today, “I look forward to working with HTS3 to help ensure our hospital survives these turbulent times and thrives far into the foreseeable future. The financial condition of our hospital is much more tenuous than people realize, and I am confident that hiring HTS3 is our best strategy to avoid GRMC being added to the list of 49 hospitals that have closed so far this year. I know there’s a lot of fear and uncertainty right now for providers, GRMC staff and in the community. I’m not going to tell you the next 6-9 months aren’t going to be extremely challenging. What I will tell you, is that together, we’ll make it through.”

“We are very excited to have been selected to help GRMC,” says Neil Todhunter, President of HealthTechS3. We are looking forward to bringing to bear our nearly 50 years of experience with assisting small, sole community hospitals, to not only survive, but to thrive, and to help ensure that GRMC continues to be the vital resource for Grant County.” Todhunter continued, “GRMC has encountered very difficult times in recent years; not even counting the COVID-19 pandemic. Most of our hospital partners have been with us for more than 20 years, and we are thrilled to work with the staff, physicians, commissioners and the community to help GRMC become the strong hospital it needs to be, for the region it serves.”
