“We are excited to partner with MoveSpring to power the American Cancer Society’s Fit2Be Cancer Free Challenge and look forward to a successful event,” said Terry LoPresti, chief technology officer, FrontStream.

FrontStream, the leading provider of a complete suite of products that empower registered nonprofit organizations and socially responsible corporations to raise more funds securely and easily for causes that effect positive change, and MoveSpring, an industry leader in employee health and wellness solutions, today announced that they are joining forces to support corporate giving and drive donations toward the fight against cancer.

FrontStream and MoveSpring teamed up to create an intuitive mobile application experience to power the American Cancer Society’s virtual fitness fundraising campaign, the Fit2Be Cancer Free Challenge. The virtual event takes place July 16 through August 6, 2020 and invites CEOs and their employees at organizations across the U.S. to join a company-wide step challenge to support and raise funds for cancer awareness and prevention. With notable registered organizations including Deloitte, Best Buy and McKesson Corporation, the virtual Fit2Be Cancer Free Challenge is expected to attract nearly half a million participants.

“Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the U.S., with 1.8 million new cases expected in 2020. Our goal with the Fit2Be Cancer Free 2020 Challenge is not only to raise funds and awareness around cancer prevention, but also to encourage physical activity and wellness in the workplace, wherever that may be,” said Gary Reedy, chief executive officer at the American Cancer Society. “We are excited to partner with FrontStream and MoveSpring to provide a seamless mobile experience for participants.”

The Fit2Be Cancer Free mobile app, created by MoveSpring and powered by FrontStream’s secure donation technology, syncs with leading fitness trackers and smartphones, enabling real-time activity tracking to drive participant engagement. After a company registers for the event, employees can then download the MoveSpring mobile app from the Google Play or App Store and create an account. Within the app, participants can compete together in a virtual race that takes them through the history of cancer, unlock fun surprises, engage with educational content on cancer prevention and connect with a supportive community, all while raising money for the cause.

“Virtual fitness fundraising events offer a unique opportunity for corporations to both promote health and wellness as well as boost employee engagement and unity, especially as companies expand work-from-home options due to COVID-19-related health concerns,” said Terry LoPresti, chief technology officer, FrontStream. “For nonprofits, virtual fundraising is becoming an innovative technique that enables them to move their missions forward quickly and efficiently. We are excited to partner with MoveSpring to power the American Cancer Society’s Fit2Be Cancer Free Challenge and look forward to a successful event.”

“With the stress of current events and more of us working from home, making time for physical activity has never been more important,” said Anthony Knierim, co-founder and COO, MoveSpring. “It’s rewarding to work with mission-focused organizations that recognize how activity impacts employee productivity and engagement and provide employees with resources needed to make health and fitness fun and accessible.”

Over the last year, FrontStream and MoveSpring have worked together to support activity-driven virtual fundraising. Together, the two companies provide multiple virtual fundraising solutions, including corporate giving solutions that promote health and wellness, energize employee engagement and support corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. Real-time activity tracking virtual fundraising events available through FrontStream’s robust Panorama platform make giving fun and provide the gamification needed to drive participant engagement and donations.
