Foretrace, a cyber security startup, today announced the introduction of a new Board of Advisors. Joining the newly established Board are experienced advisors Ira Winkler and Rick Kohr.

“We are very happy to welcome these talented, experienced leaders to advise our company through future phases of growth,” said Nick Ascoli, CEO of Foretrace. “Their combined expertise in cyber security and finance will play a valuable role in guiding strategic decisions. I am confident our advisors will give rise to new and exciting opportunities and help strengthen Foretrace as a leader in Adversarial Reconnaissance.”

Considered one of the world’s most influential security professionals, Ira Winkler is an award-winning CISO, top-rated keynote speaker at leading security conferences, and bestselling author of more than half a dozen books. Ira began his career at the National Security Agency, where he served as an Intelligence and Computer Systems Analyst. He moved on to support other US and overseas government military and intelligence agencies. After leaving government service, he went on to serve as President of the Internet Security Advisors Group, Chief Security Strategist at HP Consulting, and most recently, Chief Security Architect of Walmart. He was also on the graduate and undergraduate faculties of Johns Hopkins University and the University of Maryland. Ira previously served on the Advisory Boards of Qualys, Cylance and other leading security companies.

“Foretrace delivers the impact and quality of human collected intelligence with the automation of traditional EASM,” said Winkler. “This makes a previously inaccessible yet critical intelligence capability available to the broader market for the first time. I am passionate about improving the world’s security and look forward to helping Foretrace deliver on their important mission.”

Rick Kohr is Founder and CEO of Evergreen Advisors, LLC. He has over 30 years of experience in advising early stage growth and middle-market companies on finance, recapitalization, and exit strategies. “Foretrace is fortunate to have such experienced and thoughtful experts to help guide our continued growth,” said Matt Mosley, President and COO of Foretrace. “We will continue to innovate and protect our customers from the threat posed by data exposure in the world of decentralized and complex cloud environments.”
