FastMed Urgent Care Introduces COVID-19 Testing and Telemedicine

Providing reliable COVID-19 testing enhances our ability to give patients the information they need to protect themselves and others during the pandemic, and our virtual care option gives them the ability to access high-quality care for many routine illnesses without leaving their homes

FastMed Urgent Care, one of the nation’s largest urgent care providers, now gives patients the option to receive care via telemedicine for a wide range of urgent care symptoms and is offering reliable COVID-19 testing that is approved under FDA’s Emergency Use Authorization at 29 locations across North Carolina, Arizona, and Texas.

FastMed’s telemedicine option is for patients experiencing COVID-19 symptoms, as well as for a variety of urgent care symptoms ranging from a sore throat, runny nose and cough, to UTI, allergies, sunburn and more. Telemedicine appointments are facilitated by a FastMed provider and are currently available Monday-Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. local time. FastMed also plans to introduce telemedicine services for its occupational health and North Carolina family medicine patients over the next few weeks and to expand appointment availability for all patients.

Patients aged 8-65 who display COVID-19 symptoms will be evaluated by a FastMed provider who will determine if a nasal swab test is appropriate. Patients who are tested should receive their results within 72 hours.

“Providing reliable COVID-19 testing enhances our ability to give patients the information they need to protect themselves and others during the pandemic, and our virtual care option gives them the ability to access high-quality care for many routine illnesses without leaving their homes,” said Web Golinkin, CEO of FastMed. “As the only independent urgent care operator in North Carolina, Arizona and Texas that has been awarded The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for quality, safety and infection control, our communities and patients can rest assured we will always put safety first.”

“In an effort to provide patients in our communities with additional options for care, we’ve opened select FastMed clinics for testing for COVID-19 while simultaneously redoubling our commitment to the safety of patients who seek care at these clinics for urgent care, occupational health and other services,” said Dr. Lane Tassin, M.D., FastMed’s co-chief medical officer. “Patients are encouraged not to delay accessing the health care they need at FastMed clinics, as our sanitization procedures follow the highest standards of infection control.”
