Family Practice Center, PC, one of metro Atlanta’s leading healthcare providers, is excited to announce that Dr. Cassandra Barnes has officially joined the practice, beginning in October.
Dr. Barnes is a native of Acworth, Georgia who attended The University of Tampa on an academic and softball scholarship. After receiving her Bachelor of Science degree, Dr. Barnes began her career in medicine as a Certified Nursing Assistant with a hospice agency. She then moved on to become a medical assistant for a local family practice while working on her doctorate degree from the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine. Dr. Barnes completed her family medicine residency training at Baton Rouge General, where she was awarded the Behavioral Science Award by her preceptors.
Dr. Barnes brings a wide range of clinical expertise to Family Practice Center. This includes advanced knowledge in preventive medicine, diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses, cardiovascular health, behavioral health, and women’s health. Her women’s health specialties include performing Pap testing, handling matters pertaining to contraception, and more.
