Destressing the Patient Payment Experience Headlines Discussions at HFMA Western Symposium

Destressing the patient payment and billing experience, balancing accelerating cash and reducing bad debt, and the ROI of RPA and AI automation are among the topics to be examined at the HFMA Western Symposium, to be held January 12-15, 2019, at the Paris Hotel in Las Vegas. Nick Fricano, chief executive officer for Healthfuse, a leader in supporting hospitals to more effectively source and manage revenue cycle vendors, will moderate a January 13th discussion of revenue cycle trends with hospital revenue cycle leaders.

“The complexity of revenue cycle grows exponentially as the demands of value-based care, pricing transparency, and the patient financial experience takes center stage,” says Fricano. “Bringing revenue cycle leaders together to discuss these challenges, promises to provide actionable strategies for attendees to apply to their organizations.”

In addition to moderator Fricano, other panelists are:

  • Brad Cook, chief revenue officer, Presbyterian Healthcare Services
  • Gerilynn Sevenikar, vice president revenue cycle, Sharp Healthcare
  • Rick Lyman, senior vice president enterprise revenue cycle management, Memorial Hermann Health System
  • Shaun Ronan, system vice president, Health First

Over the course of 2019, Healthfuse conducted in-depth reviews of 451 vendors and identified $86 million in recurring revenue opportunity for new clients and $186 million for existing clients. With more than $30 billion spent annually on revenue cycle vendors, the market demand for performance-driven, tech-enabled revenue cycle management in 2020 is expected to grow at a rapid pace.
