Heroic Media’s Board of Directors and its Chief Executive Officer, Brett Attebery, are pleased to announce that Michael (Mike) J. Murray has joined the Heroic Media team as President. Attebery had served as both President and CEO since November 2020, and will continue to serve as the organization’s CEO while Murray takes over the President position. Murray will lead Heroic Media’s marketing and fundraising operations, while Attebery will oversee execution of the organization’s overall strategic plan.

Attebery commented, “Heroic Media made a major strategic decision last year to invest in building the first national non-abortion-providing women’s healthcare brand that can outcompete Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry nationwide. Rather than attempt to build that brand from the ground up, we believe it is more prudent to invest in the expansion of an existing brand that already has a proven track record of outcompeting Planned Parenthood in St. Louis, Missouri: ThriVe® Express Women’s Healthcare.”

Attebery continued, “Our stakeholders have already enthusiastically invested significantly in this new brand-building mission by underwriting the expansion of the ThriVe® brand and its new telehealth service, ThriVe+, in both Oklahoma City and Philadelphia. As ThriVe® proved in St. Louis, building a brand that outcompetes Planned Parenthood requires significant financial resources to sustain a comprehensive advertising program over the long term. Our stakeholders are excited about investing in the expansion of the ThriVe® brand with the goal of making it young women’s preferred healthcare brand nationwide, so we believe now is the time to add to our team a seasoned executive who has a stellar track record of marketing and fundraising success. Mike fits that description perfectly, and we are very excited that he will be leading our marketing and fundraising operations.”

Murray commented, “I have always loved Heroic Media’s mission to save lives from abortion. I previously served as the Executive Director of Heroic Media’s Dallas office over a decade ago, and I am excited to come back on to the team to lead its marketing and fundraising efforts. I believe Heroic Media’s focus on offering only programs that show measurable impact at saving lives, as well as its approach of using sound business principles to compete against the abortion industry, resonates deeply with philanthropists.”

Mike Murray is a licensed attorney who has served in development leadership roles with The Catholic Foundation and Catholic Charities in Dallas and most recently nationally with PragerU as Vice President of Development. Mike and his wife Colette have five children and live in Dallas.

“I am grateful to Brett and the Board of Directors for the opportunity to serve in such an impactful way. I look forward to working with Brett and the exceptionally talented Heroic Media team to help Americans who oppose abortion invest in building the first national counter brand to Planned Parenthood,” said Murray.
