By bringing hospitals to the forefront of this conversation, we hope to encourage continued forward movement and inspire further action.

The Conference Forum is pleased to announce that the 6th annual CRAACO: Clinical Research as a Care Option conference will take place in a live virtual format on November 4-6, 2020.

CRAACO is the first conference in the US for both hospitals and pharma committed to closing the gap between care and research with the patients at the center to provide better healthcare options for all patients in all communities. CRAACO brings together healthcare, life science, patient advocacy and payor stakeholders to address the value, opportunities and challenges in integrating care and research for the benefit of patients.

CRAACO will feature renowned breast cancer surgeon Laura Esserman, MD, Professor of Surgery and Radiology, University of San Francisco and Director, UCSF Carol Franc Buck Breast Cancer Center, as keynote on the topic of Platform Trials: Rapidly Adapting ISPY2 to COVID Trials and Shared Learnings. “We need to think of clinical care and clinical research as a unified system,” said Dr Esserman as a prefatory note to her talk.

Ten hospital systems, including representation from Yale Center for Clinical Investigation, University of Kansas Health Systems, New York Presbyterian Hospital, Holy Name Medical Center, Briskin Center for Clinical Research at City of Hope and Northwell Health, will address their own journeys in integrating clinical trials in healthcare.

“Now more than ever we need to reduce the barriers and burden to clinicians, research investigators and patients to engage in clinical research,” said Andrew Goldstein, Conference Producer of CRAACO. “By bringing hospitals to the forefront of this conversation, we hope to encourage continued forward movement and inspire further action.”

One of CRAACO’s key sessions will be a panel of healthcare, pharma, patient advocates and solution providers on Facing a Sense of Urgency with CRAACO in the Time of COVID-19.

Additional topics will cover raising awareness and breaking barriers between research and care, including patients as partners in research; building trust with patients and physicians; partnering with integrated research organizations; global collaborations between healthcare and pharma; decentralized trials; eSource; building on existing electronic infrastructures; digital innovation; payor perspectives and more.
