Chicagoland resort announces holiday programming including The Voice’s Keith Semple


Eaglewood Resort and Spa is embracing fall and the holiday months in a big way. Chicagoland residents and visitors can anticipate a variety of exciting activities from this Itasca resort, as well as delicious food and cocktails now through the end of the year.

Fall events and activities at Eaglewood Resort and Spa include:


  • Rakin’ In The Fun: With overnight packages starting at $199, Eaglewood Resort and Spa is offering a family-fun getaway package that includes daily hot breakfast buffet for two adults and two children in Burnham’s Restaurant, complimentary arts and crafts in the Market, one-hour of cosmic bowling at the resort’s onsite bowling alley, Kegler’s, one large homemade, thin crust pizza, a pitcher of soda, and access to all of the resort’s fall activities.
  • 2019 Halloween Ball: The resort welcomes Rick Lindy and the Wild Ones’ big-band back to the resort on Sat., Oct. 26 for a night of boo-rific live performances and spooky costumes. Guests of the Halloween Ball will be treated to a night of unforgettable live music, dancing, a costume contest and full bar and appetizers. The Halloween Ball is complimentary to all guests and takes place from 7:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. in the lobby.
  • Fall Spa Treatments: The Spa at Eaglewood has something for everyone to indulge in during the autumn months. From apple harvest facials, to citrus infused aromatherapy massages and hydrating body treatments, the spa will help guests get their skin in tip-top-shape in anticipation for the winter months.
  • Thanksgiving Champagne Feast: Bring on the turkey, potatoes, pies and more. Featuring an array of traditional favorite dishes and non-traditional selections, such as international cheese selections, grilled veggies, seared sirloin New York Strip, cast iron apple cobbler**, and more – everyone who sits at Eaglewood Resort and Spa’s Thanksgiving table is sure to leave full and satisfied. A special “Burnt Turkey” cocktail* is also sure to delight guests. The Thanksgiving buffet is available on Thurs., Nov. 28 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Adults are $35.95, children ages six to 12 are $15.95, and kids under six are free.
  • Turkey Shoot Public Golf Tournament: Golf enthusiasts are invited to end the 2019 Chicago golf season with a bang and join Eaglewood Resort & Spa on Sat., Nov. 23 for the resort’s last public golf tournament of the year. Priced at $65 per person, the event includes a warm bowl of chili at the turn and a tasty Thanksgiving-themed lunch buffet afterwards.

  • New Year’s Eve: Guests are invited to celebrate the end of the decade on Tuesday, Dec. 31 at a lavish party with live music by The Voice’s Keith Semple, a Northern Irish pop-rock singer-songwriter from Larne, Northern Ireland who finished in the top 24 on season nine of the Voice. The evening includes an open bar and midnight champagne toast. The resort offers special New Year’s Eve packages including overnight accommodations, early check-in and late check-out as well as restaurant options. **The Burnt Turkey Cocktail Recipe

A fun twist on a cocktail for when it gets stressful in the kitchen. The Burnt Turkey is the Eaglewood Resort & Spa’s twist on a Smoked Old Fashioned.

Ingredients:

  • 2oz Bulleit Bourbon, any bourbon will work
  • ½ oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1oz honey sage simple syrup
  • small sprig of sage
  • 3 sugar coated cranberries

Directions:

1.    In a shaker with ice add bourbon, lemon juice & simple syrup

2.    Shake for 15 seconds

3.    Strain over fresh ice

4.    Skewer 3 sugar coated cranberries

5.    Add sprig of sage and with a torch or lighter burn the tips of the sage to give off that great Thanksgiving smell of fresh herbs roasting
