This story has a benefit for every group from adolescents to senior adults, for both men and women, married and unmarried. It is for all who have struggled with finding the will of God for their lives

Author Brent Garzelli illustrates belonging in Christ alone with Café con Leche ($17.99, paperback, 9781662874505; $8.99, e-book, 9781662874512).

Tyisha grew up in the deep south as neither one thing, nor the other. As a mulatto, she was barely tolerated by Whites, and taken for granted by Blacks. In Jesus, however, she has a bright future with her missionary husband and their son, who gives her hope and purpose.

“This story has a benefit for every group from adolescents to senior adults, for both men and women, married and unmarried. It is for all who have struggled with finding the will of God for their lives,” said Garzelli.

Born in Waynesville, MO on a cattle farm, Brent Garzelli worked his entire early life as a “farm boy.” He attended to a Christian college and seminary, married a wonderful Christian woman, and together they have served as pastor and wife, Air Force chaplain and wife, and missionaries to Costa Rica and Venezuela. Garzelli continues his service to God by writing biblically-based novels like Cafe con Leche or The Fourth Elijah.

Fictional Story Is Also a Call-to-Action Against Food Insecurity

News Image

“The goal of the book is to awaken, motivate, and ignite a call-to-action for all of us to become engaged with food sovereignty and food security solutions,” said Felder, “so that we are prepared for the changes that are coming to North America.”

A new book is calling for readers to change their behavior concerning food and nutrition and is urging both secular and nonsecular groups to take the leadership role in sparking this change.

“Kingdom Gardens,” written by S. Renee Felder, depicts the thriving community of a Kingdom Community in the year 2027 when the rest of the country is struggling with environmental changes, increased government control, and food scarcity. In the story, a young man visits this Kingdom Community and learns principles to take back to his state, where the locals struggle to meet the communities’ basic needs. Although the story is imagined, Felder fills the book with food sovereignty principles and strategies that can be implemented now on a small or large scale.

“The goal of the book is to awaken, motivate, and ignite a call-to-action for all of us to become engaged with food sovereignty and food security solutions,” said Felder, “so that we are prepared for the changes that are coming to the United States and North America, regarding food insecurity issues.”

Felder claims she began receiving prophecies from the Lord, shortly after dedicating her life to Jesus in the mid-1990s. As her relationship with the Lord grew, so did her prophetic gift. Around 2006, per what she described as the “Lord’s instructions,” she began to document many of her prophecies on an online blog. That led to the publication of her first book, “The Bridge, Moving from Increasing Chaos to Future Peace” followed by “Kingdom Gardens.”

“’Kingdom Gardens’ is a picture of what our country will look like, based on the current trajectory,” said Felder. “The story gives a glimpse of the continued impact of our current laws and regulations, where they are headed, and the increased tension between some states and the Federal Government.”

US Navy Gulf War Veteran Writes Christian Memoir Following Her Journey to Healing

News Image

“In my memoir, I tell my story on how I was saved by the world’s best hero, Jesus Christ,” Chapel said. “I wrote my story to communicate the message that, regardless of past guilt and shame we may have, God’s love transcends every darkened shade of sin.”

It’s almost as if author Grace Chapel had the deck stacked high against her from birth. As a little girl, she was beaten, molested, and sexually assaulted. As an adult, she was crushed by a divorce after 21 years of marriage, followed by another caused by infidelity. Vengeance flooded her brain daily, her past fueling her present to bitterness. It wasn’t until she felt the spirit of Christ console her soul that she took a new journey of healing, by writing her memoir, “50 Shades of Red: Her Story, His Love.”

Claiming that the holy spirit encouraged her to write her journey into a book, Chapel began purging her traumas and started a new path to healing. From her writings, she said she became emptied of the emotional clutter and relationship anxieties from her dark past, which slowed down her professional growth and development. By the time she finished her first book, Chapel gained spiritual strength. Once, seeing herself as a vulnerable lamb, she bloomed into a protective lion fueling her to become a better mother and follower of Christ.

“In my memoir, I tell my story on how I was saved by the world’s best hero, Jesus Christ,” Chapel said. “I wrote my story to communicate the message that, regardless of past guilt and shame we may have, God’s love transcends every darkened shade of sin.”

A victim herself, Chapel believes her book will appeal to readers who’ve experienced trauma from sexual violation and heartbreak. She hopes her story of strength will bring awareness to these issues and allow victims to recognize their pain, heal from it, and live better lives.

“It’s time for healing,” Chapel said. “Speaking and writing are my strengths; God has blessed me to pen 16 Christian books with solutions for church and world problems today. With these strengths, I was to show my readers that we are not alone. We will heal and overcome, no matter how many difficulties our past may bring to our future.”

How God Brought the Author out of the Depths of Deception

News Image

My past experiences of being drawn into deception and God bringing me out of it. Also, seeing others being drawn into deception as well, and the hope that they will be able to avoid the troubles I went through.

Author Sue Webb shares her powerfully motivating story to inspire readers in Unraveling Deception: How God Showed Me the Way Out of Deception ($15.49, paperback, 9781662874147; $6.99, e-book, 9781662874154).

Just as she experienced, Webb knows the type of deceptions that entrap Christians of today. This fast paced book based on Sue’s story, shares simple explanations for the many errors and even heresies that many face and the ones she persevered through. Webb aims to guide Christians on how to avoid being caught in those traps and how to get out if already drawn into them. Readers will appreciate the simple, proven successful ways God brought Webb out of deception, and will be inspired to follow her example. Webb’s thought-provoking and well penned book explores relevant traps of today that are currently ensnaring Christians.

When asked what inspired the author to write this book, Webb said, “My past experiences of being drawn into deception and God bringing me out of it. Also, seeing others being drawn into deception as well, and the hope that they will be able to avoid the troubles I went through.”

Sue Webb has lived in Texas all of her life where she and her husband raised their two sons. She is now a widow, and her life is mostly involved with her family and church. Webb has been a Bible study teacher for many years. Having participated in several churches, she has witnessed how many types of Christians are not well grounded in the Bible, and so are easily fooled. Webb’s Christian walk had some twists and turns, but the Lord Jesus showed her the way. She wrote this book to tell her story and to help other Christians as they face similar challenges. Webb’s main interests revolve around activities in her church, especially Bible studies. She also enjoys sewing and crafts of many kinds.

New book serves as an exhaustive reference guide, an uplifting devotional and a fount of theological and mystical knowledge

News Image

Deacon Albert Graham announces his return to the publishing scene with the release of “Revelation, Mystical Phenomena and Divine Promises” (published by Trafford Publishing) which explores 43 mystical phenomena and depicts imagery of artists showing saints experiencing such phenomena.

This book is an exhaustive reference guide, an uplifting devotional, and a fount of theological and mystical knowledge. It points out to the reader that God has been and still is communicating to His creatures through miracles, wonders, private revelations and a host of mystical phenomena for over 2,000 years. A special chapter in this work deals with some saints and holy people who have had private revelations about or visits from souls in purgatory, hell or heaven. Another chapter and several of the appendixes are devoted to Marian apparitions including those approved, not approved and appending a decision by the church.

By far, one of the greatest strengths of this undertaking is the identification of some 43 categories of concomitant extraordinary phenomena and some of the saints and holy people who have experienced them. Color paintings by artists are depicted of some saints experiencing such mystical phenomena. Another unique feature of the book is a listing of some 600 individuals from the 13th to the 21st centuries who bore the stigmata. By knowing that God is present and alive to his people, this book may help bring others to a deeper faith in God.

“Many in our society and culture have lost their sense of the miraculous, otherworldly and supernatural. It is my hope that this book will appeal to people of all faith and religion to strengthen their spirituality knowing that God is ever present and alive to His people. It may help to bring unbelievers to awareness, seekers to belief and believers to a deeper faith in God,” Graham says. When asked what he wants readers to take away from the book, he answered, “That God still intervenes in human affairs through voices, visions, apparitions, locutions, miracles, signs and wonders.” For more details about the book, please visit, https://www.trafford.com/en/bookstore/bookdetails/840134-revelation-mystical-phenomena-and-divine-promises

New Champions Fund Annual Opportunity Announced to Elevate Leaders of Color and Allies who Support Students with Disabilities

The Educating All Learners Alliance (EALA), a coalition of over 128 partner organizations led by InnovateEDU, is launching the second year of its New Champions Fund. The New Champions Fund allows EALA to provide an annual unrestricted $35,000 grant and access to a year-long mentorship program to a leader of color, or ally of the equity in education movement, who is actively working to support students with disabilities, including students who are also marginalized, come from underserved communities, or experience poverty. EALA will provide two additional $5,000 sub-grants to runners-up, as determined by the panel of nationally recognized New Champions judges.

This award aims to elevate the work and profile of emerging leaders doing exceptional work who may struggle to be recognized in traditional, national fundraising or communication efforts. The explicit intent of this grant is to diversify the organizations, voices, and approaches that are leading the conversation on serving all students. Winners will be selected by a diverse judging panel of national education leaders.

Dena Simmons, founder of LiberatED and 2022 New Champion, highlights the value of the New Champions grant, noting how the funding supported the vital work of LiberatED: “The New Champions grant was a wonderful opportunity to build with the larger InnovateEDU community and to continue centering youth voice in our work with the goal of creating the conditions for belonging, healing, and collective liberation for all children.”

Those who meet the primary requirements to apply to the New Champions Fund include:

  • leaders of community-based organizations (CBOs), schools and districts, non-profits, or for-profit organizations that are under $2 million in annual revenue*;
  • leaders of color or allies of the equity in education movement;
  • entities or individuals who are actively working to support students with disabilities, including students who are also marginalized, come from underserved communities, or experience poverty.

*for-profit organizations must be able to accept contributions from a non-profit organization.

“The New Champions Fund is an incredible opportunity for EALA to spotlight an emerging leader or organization in education who may not yet have had the opportunity to receive funding for their breakthrough idea,” said Treah Hutchings, EALA’s Project Manager. “With the support of the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, EALA is committed to spotlighting and drawing attention to equity-driven leadership working to support students who learn differently.”

The winner of the New Champions Fund will be supported by EALA through the following key areas: a $35,000 unrestricted grant, a one-year mentorship provided to leadership to accomplish strategic goals, and focused work with EALA to spotlight the champion’s work through various media channels, podcasts, webinars, and national conferences.

Applicants can gain further inspiration from the 2022 New Champions Fund winner, LiberatED, and runners-up, STEM4Real and Dr. Charles Cole III, who exemplify the qualities and work to be supported through the New Champions Fund. To learn more about the critical work last year’s grantees do and how the New Champions fund has amplified their efforts, visit the New Champions Fund website.

The New Champions Fund application opens Monday, April 3rd, and will close on Friday, May 5th. For more information, visit EALA’s website.
