Rev. Dr. Cleveland Brown’s newly released “Being Chosen by God” is a poignant look back on the author’s life of faith and spiritual calling

News Image

“Being Chosen by God”: a potent testament to the author’s faith and determined drive to help those met along the way. “Being Chosen by God” is the creation of published author Rev. Dr. Cleveland Brown, a devoted husband and father who founded CADRA, which seeks to help those afflicted by drug addiction to break the cycle and live healthy, productive lives.

Rev. Dr. Brown shares, “I believe all are chosen from birth by God to make a difference in this world in the lives of others, and my book, Being Chosen by God, is a perfect example that God is with us in the best of times, worst of times, and all the time to help us and use us to serve one another to build His kingdom through those we come in contact with. We can change the world with love and the willingness to serve others. God said in His word that ‘what you have done to the least of these people, you have done it unto Me.’ When I was hungry you feed me, thirsty, you gave me drink, naked, you clothe me, a stranger you took me in, in prison, you came to see me, and sick, you came to visit me. God can use you to change someone’s entire life or a city if you’re willing to let Him lead you, and don’t be afraid to step out and do what He asks you. God can and will use you. Never doubt who you are in Christ.

“Cleveland Brown was raised by Mattie and Jasper Brown, a true born-again servant of God, taught him to love God, trust God, have faith in God, serve others, and believe you are on this earth for a purpose. My life is a true witness that the Bible is a living word, God is real, and He cares for no one to perish but have everlasting life. God says, ‘You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you.’”

Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Rev. Dr. Cleveland Brown’s new book will encourage and enlighten as readers discover a life lived in dedicated faith.

Rev. Dr. Brown shares a candid look at life through the peaks and valleys but always with a determined dedication to God’s will.

Cambridge Christian School Chorus Slated for Christmas Concert at “Toys for Tampa Bay” Charity Event

Student groups support community causes whenever possible, as part of their ongoing “Love Thy Neighbor” initiative.

Cambridge Christian School (http://www.ccslancers.com) has announced that a Christmas Chorus of students will perform at Toys for Tampa Bay, a holiday event for the US Marines’ Toys for Tots program on December 4, 2021, from 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm.

At last year’s event, Toys for Tampa Bay raised $20,000 and collected 1,000 toys for children whose families would not be able to afford Christmas presents. This year’s outdoor event at 4601 W. North A Street in Hyde Park will also feature a performance by the Tampa Metropolitan Youth Orchestra and appearances by Marines of Tampa, Santa Bob Eddy & Laredo Lass; Santa & Mrs. Claus; Thunderbug, mascot of the Tampa Bay Lightning; Raymond, mascot of the Tampa Bay Rays; Tampa Fire Rescue; and Tampa Police Department Mounted Horse & Motorcycle Divisions. The event’s presenting sponsors are Hyde Park Living magazine and Harwood Financial Group. Toys and donations will be collected on site.

The Christmas Chorus from Cambridge Christian School will perform upbeat holiday selections, both secular and sacred. Highlights include “Please Come Home for Christmas” by the Eagles, “Snowman” by Sia, and traditionals like “Do You Hear What I Hear?” and “I’ll Be Home for Christmas.”

“The students and I are very excited to be singing at the Toys for Tampa Bay event, obviously because of the good it will accomplish for kids in our neighborhood, but also for the joy of getting the community together again to celebrate Christmas in a very festive way,” said Melissa Rawls, Choral Director at Cambridge Christian School. “The event is a great setting for children and families to enjoy the music, lights, decorations, food, and appearances by characters they love. It’s a great family outing.”

The Christmas Chorus is composed of various members of the three different ongoing choruses available to students at Cambridge Christian School. The school emphasizes student involvement in music, athletics, and the arts, as well as academics. Student groups also support community causes whenever possible, as part of their ongoing “Love Thy Neighbor” initiative.

“Cambridge students are making a positive difference in Tampa,” said Marty Hillier, Director of Marketing and Communications for Cambridge Christian School. “For example, Key Club students serve food at Trinity Café, where Feeding Tampa Bay offers a free, full-service restaurant for those who need a healthy meal. They also recently collected 1,300 canned food items for a local food bank. And students in the National Junior Honor Society are currently spearheading a shoebox drive with the younger, elementary school students, who also sponsor children in Haiti and help stock the pantry for Oak Grove Food Drive. ‘Love Thy Neighbor’ is part of the school’s culture.”

Author Deacon Gregory Harris’s new book “Getting to Know God for Strangers” is an inspiring guide to growing one’s relationship with God and learning to trust Him

News Image

Deacon Gregory Harris has completed his new book “Getting to Know God for Strangers”: a powerful handbook for those looking to accept Jesus into their life and understand all He can offer.

As Harris writes, “I was unhappy with the way my life was going, and I had nowhere to turn, so I tried God. It was the best choice I ever made. My worst day since I came to Jesus is better than my best day when I didn’t have Him. So for the last thirty years or so, I have been serving Him. I used to be a very selfish man, but something happened. I can’t pinpoint exactly when it was, but little by little, I began to change into this new creature. I am not who I used to be. I cannot hold in this joy I feel on the inside. I will not keep it for myself. I have to share it with my fellow men and women. It is my duty to get this information to you, and I ask you to please bear with me so I may share this knowledge with you and do what has been asked of me.”

Published by Page Publishing, Deacon Gregory Harris’s accessible text is the perfect tool for readers who feel as if other religious books have not spoken to them because, in the words of Harris himself, “Getting to Know God for Strangers” is “user-friendly, all you have to do is practice it in your daily life.” Readers will be left with a new understanding of what a relationship with God can bring, and how to keep that relationship strong in all situations.

Readers who wish to experience this potent work can purchase “Getting to Know God for Strangers” at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes Store, Amazon, Google Play, or Barnes and Noble.

It was inspired by Scripture texts, preaching, hymns and popular Christian music, all with the primary focus on the exaltation of Jesus Christ.

Author Gary Michael Drucker provides emphasis to Christian readers that Jesus Christ is their exalted Lord and God and the foundation of their own identities in JESUS CHRIST GOD THE SON: The King of Kings and the Radiance of His Glory ($24.49, paperback, 9781662829017; $9.99, e-book, 9781662829024).

Drucker’s highly Christocentric work delves into the fullness of deity and tremendous majesty of the Lord Jesus Christ. “I wrote this book because of my interest in the deity and majesty of Christ,” said Drucker. “It was inspired by Scripture texts, preaching, hymns and popular Christian music, all with the primary focus on the exaltation of Jesus Christ.”

New Daily Devotional Helps Readers Become Closer with the Bible and Meet Life Challenges in Only Five Minutes a Day

“5 Minutes with God: A 365 Daily Devotional” By Brett T. Gilford

“My addiction recovery and journey with the Lord has been wonderful, not an easy one, but every day just got better and better. When you surrender your life to God, He does amazing things for you,” said Elder Brett. “You’re never too young or old to spend five minutes with God.”

As a Christian Elder, Brett T. Gilford approaches 35 years of sobriety, he is now sharing the wonderful journey of how God helped to restore him at the darkest point in his life to inspire others to turn to Jesus in time of need. His new book “5 Minutes with God: A 365 Daily Devotional” provides a simple and easy approach to the Bible for those who may be new to their faith and those looking to deepen it.

Around 2008, Elder Brett started writing a gratitude list of 10 things he was grateful for each day which evolved into “Messages from Brett” after the Lord started speaking to him. He would send these messages to friends and family and then they eventually morphed into “5 Minutes with God.” He started compiling his devotionals and selected one for each day of the year along with a recommended scripture to provide readers with an easy way to connect with the Lord daily.

“My addiction recovery and journey with the Lord has been wonderful, not an easy one, but every day just got better and better. When you surrender your life to God, He does amazing things for you,” said Elder Brett. “You’re never too young or old to spend five minutes with God.”

“Spending time with God is vitally important to the believer. Without it, we would be like a ship without a rudder; aimlessly drifting through life. I am excited about Elder Brett Gilford’s devotional…His life is a testimony that spending 5 minutes with God reaps countless rewards.” – Pastor Sheryl Brady, Sr. Pastor of The Potter’s House North Dallas

Elder Brett acknowledges that everyone has different challenges and states that the Word of God will help get them through it. He hopes his journey will impact readers for years to come and that his devotional will help draw people closer to God and have an intimate relationship with their Bible.

Andrea S. Johnson-Thompson’s newly released “The Chrysalis” is a thought-provoking exploration of spiritual growth

News Image

“The Chrysalis”: an inspiring discussion of faith. “The Chrysalis” is the creation of published author Andrea S. Johnson-Thompson, a native of Nassau, Bahamas, has been married for the past 26 years, a mother of five sons, including twins, and a sister to twelve siblings, including a twin.

Johnson-Thompson shares, “Butterflies are symbols of transformation. The metamorphosis of a caterpillar into a butterfly is one of the most profound wonders of nature. Butterflies are deep and powerful representations of life, and many cultures associate the butterfly with the soul. The Christian religion sees the butterfly as a symbol of resurrection. Around the world, people view the butterfly as representing endurance, change, hope, and life.

“It is my heartfelt prayer this book will transcend religions and languages. It was written for ‘the called’ of God (Psalm 4:3) and the ‘call waiting’ of God (1 Kings 19:18). This book hopes to speak to the faithful remnant who have been set apart to do God’s bidding and who have been set aside for God’s kingdom assignment on earth. I believe God held these people close to Himself in reserve for the end-time glory that will hit the earth.

“When we who were once caterpillars are changed into a butterfly, purpose, destiny, and the manifestation of the prophetic word of God over our lives make up the beauty of our wings. As is the case with each butterfly, the pattern, size, and diverse colors of our wings are unique to our own individual calling and assignment. Our metamorphosis changes us from the inside out, and it empowers us to go out into the world and become disciples of men.

“There are many different species of butterflies, and no two are alike. In the same way, we are all different, but our individual divine assignments are all interconnected and work cohesively to see ‘Thy kingdom come, thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven.’”

Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Andrea S. Johnson-Thompson’s new book provides readers a motivational opportunity for an affirmation of faith.

Johnson-Thompson shares in hopes of empowering others to nurture a relationship with God.

Consumers can purchase “The Chrysalis” at traditional brick & mortar bookstores, or online at Amazon.com, Apple iTunes store, or Barnes and Noble.

Nichols was the eighth of eleven children born to loving parents in Indianapolis, Indiana. He served congregations in seven states over a sixty-year ministry.

I like to think that I have presented you with 365 nicknames for God. It is true the Trinity is identified in the Bible with a plethora of names in addition to God, such as Lord, Jehovah, Messiah, King, Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Jesus, Immanuel, Rabbi, Son of man, etc. The names suggested here open a vista of concepts that will identify the character or nature or other attributes of our majestic God. The suggested names attached to each person of the Trinity will provide you the opportunity to think about our great God in ways you may not have thought of before. As you meditate on these descriptive names, you will come to a deeper understanding of just who our Triune God is, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.”
