iPatientCare concludes its 10th successive National User Conference 2019 with unprecedented success

iPatientCare concludes its 10th successive National User Conference 2019 with unprecedented success.

“I find great value in attending NUCON each year. The interactive sessions provide an opportunity to speak directly with product experts and developers. The road map of what is to come was great to see and was a highlight.”, said Raymond Waller, Director, Ascension Brighton Center for Recovery.

iPatientCare, a pioneer in cloud-based ambulatory EHR and Revenue Cycle Management services, successfully concluded its annual national user conference in Cincinnati on 19th October 2019. With this conference, iPatientCare also kicked-off its 10th anniversary celebrations of this annual user conference which was first organized in 2010.

This year’s event focused on ‘Evolving healthcare landscape’ and featured two keynote speakers, Dr. Yousuf Ahmad, President, and Chief Executive Officer, AssureCare LLC, and Raymond Waller, Director, Ascension Brighton Center for Recovery. During this two-day event, iPatientCare channel partners, certified professionals, business partners, end-users and healthcare experts from iPatientCare gathered together to reflect on their evolution in the healthcare field, to celebrate accomplishments, to welcome new practitioners to their networks, and to investigate what new directions the next ten years may bring.

Udayan Mandavia, Chief Growth Officer, iPatientCare/AssureCare, presented the Sneak peek of R20 and discussed the evolution of iPatientCare technologies, new phases and developments of iPatientCare products and how they will be launching new innovative projects in the future. He said, “Starting from developing a mobile computing system for the US Army to ramping up with ambulatory EHR today, iPatientCare has been successful in addressing the evolving healthcare needs. Beyond EHR and PMS, iPatientCare now looks forward to working for the hospital’s side, with a focus on managing population health as a whole.”

Besides these informative sessions, a dedicated exhibition area featuring iPatientCare partners and NUCON 2019 sponsors such as Amazon Web Services (AWS), Practice Insight, CoverMyMeds, ConnectiveRX, Upland Interfax and Scriptel Corporation offered participants the opportunity to browse through demos, offerings, and their unique solutions.

I find great value in attending NUCON each year. The interactive sessions provide an opportunity to speak directly with product experts and developers. The road map of what is to come was great to see and was a highlight. I can’t wait to see what iPatientCare puts together for the next year’s conference!”, said Raymond Waller, Director, Ascension Brighton Center for Recovery.

When a company is growing, business leaders responsible for various departments like R&D, marketing, quality, regulatory, manufacturing and IT start to see the symptoms of growing organization and pain points in bringing new products to market faster.

On Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at 9am EST (2pm GMT/UK), join Prabhu Salimath, Senior Management Consultant, Life Sciences at TECHNIA and Daniel Lennwald, Sales Executive, Medical Devices at TECHNIA in a live webinar where they will discuss how to start and execute the process of selecting the right PLM solution for your business. They will also cover what to consider when evaluating different platforms and vendors.

When a company is growing, business leaders responsible for various departments like R&D, marketing, quality, regulatory, manufacturing and IT start to see the symptoms of growing organization and pain points in bringing new products to market faster. This is even more challenging for a life sciences company due to regulatory and compliance-driven environment.

In such a situation, business leaders realize that a transformation is needed in business processes and systems in the area of product innovation, product development and product data management. This change not only needs a new system or business platform that can enable cross-functional people collaboration, but also a relook at current processes and way of working. Transformation requires a streamlined and harmonized process across the product lifecycle that can help and support respective department users to keep up with company goals. Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) is often defined as a combination of those streamlined processes and Product Innovation Platform (PIP).

After recognizing that such a transformation is needed, the next step is to realize it. In a multi-disciplinary product company with cross functional teams and global organization, it is not always a straight forward path towards a truly global and long-term PLM solution. In this free webinar, featured speakers will provide an overview of what steps need to be taken to make it happen. They will also discuss what needs to be considered when selecting such a solution to best suit the company’s business and vision.

Manhattan Institute Report Fails to Muster Solid Evidence to Support Vouchers

A recent Manhattan Institute report argues that the idea of what constitutes a “public” school should be expanded to include private schools that receive public funding. The report also contends that public funding for education should in fact be divided between traditional district public schools, charter schools, and private schools, with funding decisions based on student enrollment. Expansion of funding, it concludes, will result in greater choice for all students and will improve the quality of education.

Joel Westheimer of the University of Ottawa reviewed The Case for Educational Pluralism in the U.S., and found several serious problems. The report, he explained, is plagued by a lack of evidence, flawed logic, and a failure to consider differences in economic, social, political, and regulatory contexts. He also noted that the report’s central argument originates primarily from “conceptual perspectives” rather than empirical research.

The empirical studies the report does use are drawn primarily from religious and school choice advocacy groups. Also, the well-designed and peer-reviewed studies it uses lead to conclusions only loosely tied or entirely unrelated to public funding of private schools.

Professor Westheimer concludes that, while the report may prove useful for those who seek a rhetorical appeal for public funding of a private school education, it offers little useful to policymakers whose goal is to improve access to quality schools.

Atlas Roofing Goes Pink, Raises Over $160,000 Toward Finding a Cure During Breast Cancer Awareness Month

News Image

“Corporate initiatives and donations like the one from Atlas help us continue serving our local community and communities across the country through life-saving programs and research.” —Julie Brock, special events and volunteer manager at Susan G. Komen Greater Atlanta

Atlas Roofing Corporation, along with their dedicated network of contractors throughout the U.S., have raised over $160,000 to support the fight against breast cancer through the Summit 60® Pink initiative. From August 15 through October 15, a portion of the proceeds of every roll of Summit 60 synthetic roof underlayment sold was donated to the Susan G. Komen breast cancer foundation.

As part of the national initiative, Atlas debuted its special-edition Summit 60 Pink premium synthetic roof underlayment embellished with pink ribbons, the international symbol of breast cancer awareness.

“The goal of our Susan G. Komen Pink campaign was to provide much-needed awareness and funding for critical research and education,” explained Kirk Villar, vice president of sales and marketing for Atlas. “We are very proud of the funds we have raised through this partnership, and we will continue to donate our time and efforts to the fight against breast cancer.”

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, breast cancer is the second most common cause of death for women among all races and ethnicities in the United States.

“The special-edition rolls were a great way for Atlas and our contractors to show our dedication to the fight against breast cancer,” said Tiara Searcy, content and digital marketing manager for Atlas. “Together, we can help make a difference.”

The Susan G. Komen foundation, launched in 1982, has funded more than $988 million in research and more than $2.2 billion in education, screenings and treatment programs across the U.S.

“We are so grateful to receive this donation from Atlas Roofing Corporation,” said Julie Brock, special events and volunteer manager at Susan G. Komen Greater Atlanta. “Corporate initiatives and donations like the one from Atlas help us continue serving our local community and communities across the country through life-saving programs and research.”

Designed To Protect

Summit 60 is designed to optimize the life of a roof system through superior water resistance and UV protection, protecting against water intrusion and mold growth. Made from a woven polymeric scrim, Summit 60 is designed for increased strength, reduced slippage between the underlayment and the roof sheathing and improved walkability during installation. The materials will not warp, buckle or crack over time like other organic felt brands. The UV coating provides 60-day protection from the sun while the roof is being installed.

Tracy Callahan Receives the First ASDS Sun Safe Hero Award

Tracy Callahan and Dr. Adigun

Tracy Callahan and Chris Adigun, MD

As a four time melanoma survivor, I know all too well the importance of early detection; it saves lives, and I am truly fortunate to be able to use my voice and experiences to educate, advocate and promote the early detection of melanoma and skin cancer.

The American Society for Dermatologic Surgery is pleased to announce Tracy Callahan, founder of The Polka Dot Mama Melanoma Foundation, as the inaugural recipient of its Sun Safe Hero Award, which launched during the Society’s May 2019 Skin Cancer Awareness Month campaign, to recognize consumers who advocate for skin cancer awareness in their communities. Callahan used her multiple melanoma diagnoses to form the Foundation’s mission of awareness, prevention and early detection.

“This is a tremendous honor, and I am truly humbled for the recognition,” said Callahan. “As a four time melanoma survivor, I know all too well the importance of early detection; it saves lives, and I am truly fortunate to be able to use my voice and experiences to educate, advocate and promote the early detection of melanoma and skin cancer. I am grateful to work alongside an incredibly dedicated team of volunteer dermatologists and nurses who help make our efforts possible.”

Inspired by the nickname “Polka Dot Mama,” given to her by her two sons, Tracy started a blog and began to network with survivors and skin cancer organizations across the country. The Polka Dot Mama Melanoma Foundation was granted 501(c)(3) nonprofit status in 2015 and now funds research, hosts skin cancer screenings, raises awareness and educates the community about melanoma.

“Tracy exudes warmth, kindness and genuine sensitivity while directing a purposeful, well-organized nonprofit,” said Chis Adigun, MD, who nominated Callahan for the award. “Tracy pounds the pavement driving support from our dermatology community to provide free skin cancer screenings in our practices and neighboring venues. Tracy possesses a talent for recruiting support that reaches beyond a single charity event or monetary donation; she inspires authentic involvement for the cause.”

“Tracy’s dedication and efforts in spreading the sun safety message is outstanding, and ASDS applauds her efforts through The Polka Dot Mama Melanoma Foundation,” said Ramona Behshad, MD, Chair of the ASDS Public Service Work Group.

DermBiont Announces Positive Data from Phase 2a Clinical Trial and Start of Phase 2b Clinical Trial for Athlete’s Foot with a Topical Live Biotherapeutic

News Image

“This was DermBiont’s first clinical trial, and it is rewarding to have met our goals for the study and enabled additional clinical trials. Although primarily designed as a safety study, our team is excited to see signs of a therapeutic response from a single dose of our product.” -Karl Beutner, CEO

DermBiont, a clinical stage microbiome biotechnology company developing topical live biotherapeutics, has announced that its lead program, DBI-001, met its primary safety endpoints, with no application site reactions and no adverse events, in a 12 person open labeled phase 2a clinical trial for the treatment of interdigital tinea pedis (athlete’s foot). Additionally, the trial demonstrated a clinical response with improvement in the signs and symptoms of tinea pedis and demonstrated a reduction in the abundance of Trichophyton rubrum.

Based on the results of the completed phase 2a trial, the company has started enrolling patients in a phase 2b clinical trial, which is a double-blind placebo-controlled study for the treatment of interdigital tenia pedis. The company will also be initiating a clinical trial in onychomycosis in early 2020.

In addition to addressing tinea pedis, DermBiont’s lead candidate, DBI-001, is being evaluated for additional indications related to bacterial infection of the skin. In-vitro, DBI-001 has activity against fungi as well as bacteria. “This was DermBiont’s first clinical trial, and it is rewarding to have met our goals for the study and enabled additional clinical trials. Although primarily designed as a safety study, our team is excited to see signs of a therapeutic response from a single dose of our product,” said Dr. Karl Beutner, CEO of DermBiont.

“We continue to be pleased with the progress of our lead program along with other ongoing discovery and clinical efforts,” added Dr. Robert Brucker, the company’s CSO.

Approximately 15-25% of individuals globally are afflicted with athlete’s foot and about 70% of the global population will suffer from athlete’s foot at least once. There is an unmet clinical need for a therapeutic treatment that addresses the root cause of athlete’s foot, a dysbiosis of the microbiome, and cures this otherwise chronic and recurrent condition. With the success of its ongoing program, DermBiont plans to commercialize the first FDA approved topical live biotherapeutic to treat skin disease.

About DermBiont

DermBiont is a dermatology company leveraging skin microbiome therapeutics to treat the root cause of skin diseases. In addition to advancing DBI-001, the company has a discovery platform based on a library of thousands of microbes isolated from human skin and one of the world’s largest data sets of Nextgen sequencing of the human microbiome across healthy and diseased skin.

OnviSource Releases its New Multi-Engine and Proprietary Artificial Intelligence Software that Powers Company’s Advanced Analytics, Robotic Process Automation and IVA

iMachine AI Technologies

iMachine™ AI Software from OnviSource offers Multi-Engine AI Technologies

With our new iMachine, powering our proven solutions with multi-engine artificial intelligence, we are well-positioned to assist enterprises in their digital transformation and next generation transition.

OnviSource announced today it has started the deployment of its AI-driven solutions powered by its new proprietary Artificial Intelligence software, called iMachine™. iMachine is the AI technology for Company’s multichannel and advanced analytics, robotic process automation (RPA) and intelligent virtual agent (IVA) or smart bot.

iMachine utilizes advanced AI technologies and artificial neural network (ANN) and offers 3 artificial intelligence engines including NLP/NLU, Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL). Company’s solutions are able to utilize the most optimized AI engine pertinent to their specific application. For example, Company’s Intelligent Virtual Agent or smart bot, called Liaa™, primarily utilizes iMachine’s NLP/NLU engine; while Intellecta™ multichannel analytics and Automata™ RPA products may use iMachine’s ML and DL engines for a variety of their AI-driven features.

Use of iMachine by Company’s solutions in analytics, RPA and IVA significantly enhances their capabilities in effectively addressing today’s enterprise and contact center challenges in workforce optimization, customer experience management and business process automation; as well as automating the management of enterprise contents. iMachine can power virtual agents to sound and act similar to live agents while offering faster, more accurate, and consistent customer service. Content of calls, audio files, email, chat, text, and structured or unstructured documents can be analyzed by iMachine for discovering intent, purpose, compliance, categories, sentiment, root causes and complex information otherwise undetected by analytics that do not use AI engines. Using iMachine RPA can automate more complex, repetitive tasks that require deep analysis of unstructured content and events pertinent to complex business processes.

“For over 14 years, OnviSource has provided enterprises and contact centers with a broad range of solutions in optimization and automation,” said Ray Naeini, CEO and Chairman at OnviSource. “AI is finally here to transition enterprises to their next generation of optimization and automation. OnviSource also offers a series of professional services to assist customers in training iMachine for various applications. iMachine engines are also accessible through OnviSource’s open API platform for integration with third-party applications.

Historically, the use of AI technologies and AI-driven intelligent automation solutions (such as RPA and IVA) by enterprises required significant investment and qualified resources, hence, they were not affordable by all enterprises. Successful deployment of AI-powered solutions and full recognition of its Return-on-Investment (ROI) requires offering special programs beyond the technologies and products. OnviSource’s mission is to democratize AI and intelligent automation solutions for enterprises of all sizes by offering highly affordable prices, delivery options of on-premise software or SaaS, flexibility in customization, free consultation and proof-of-concepts; as well as post-sale operational assistance, at no charge, to assure its solutions work for customers’ specific needs.
