OOVA Launches Perimenopause Hormone Kit, First-of-its-Kind Estrogen Biomarker and App with Real-Time Data Tracking

The women’s health platform is the only remote hormone monitoring company trusted and used by physicians

NEW YORK, Dec. 6, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Oova, Inc., the leading women’s health platform revolutionizing remote hormone monitoring, announced today the launch of its at-home Perimenopause Hormone Kit. The kit is complete with urine-based, multi-hormone biomarkers including estrogen (E3G) and an app with real-time data tracking. Unlike other options on the market, which rely on blood or FSH-only urine tests that only capture a moment in time, Oova users are able to measure their actual hormone fluctuations across a 15-day period throughout a single cycle and their progress month-over-month. This gives women and their physicians insights into their perimenopause journey.

The test strips are scanned into Oova’s HIPPA-compliant app which utilizes advanced AI and machine learning to interpret the scan into quantitative results, which can be understood by patients and clinicians alike. By interpreting the quantitative levels over time, Oova’s predictive algorithms begin to learn the nuances of every woman’s unique hormone profile to help her achieve her health goal. Insights include measuring perimenopausal hormone activity, tracking unique physical symptoms, indicating fertility and confirming ovulation for those trying to conceive during perimenopause. It also enables monitoring of hormone patterns for those beginning Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). Patients can also share their data with clinicians in real-time, from the comfort of home.

“There are significant gaps in hormone health research, especially as it relates to perimenopause,” said Amy Divaraniya, Ph.D., Founder and CEO of OOVA. “We know doctors and patients alike are missing methods to pinpoint where someone is in their journey and identify how symptoms correspond to hormone changes, which often leaves women navigating this life phase in the dark. With the Perimenopause Hormone Kit, women can better understand their bodies, while tracking data that empowers them to make informed decisions with their physicians.”

“Oova’s test serves as a significant leap forward in healthcare,” said Dr. Beck Hoehn, LAc, FABORM, Mighty River Wellness, Advisor to Oova. “In this stage of women’s health that has traditionally been passed over, Oova’s perimenopause kit equips both the patient and clinician with real-time, accurate insight needed to navigate the complexities with confidence and clarity. It’s a game-changer.”

Oova stands out as the only remote hormone monitoring company working directly with clinicians, and conducting medical studies to support its claims. Founded by Amy Divaraniya, Ph.D., an expert in biomedical sciences with a focus on genetics, the company began with ovulation tracking for fertility. With a recent $10.3M fundraise, Oova is continuing to expand its scope to support women through every stage, age and life phase, from their first period to their last and beyond.

The launch of the E3G biomarker expands upon Oova’s current physician-preferred fertility monitoring offering of luteinizing hormone (LH) and progesterone (PdG) biomarkers to complete the Perimenopause Hormone Kit. The Perimenopause Hormone Kit ($159.99), retailing online and in store at Village Pharmacy, includes 15 E3G tests and 15 LH/PdG hormone tests , designed to be used over the course of a month for a detailed and comprehensive picture of hormone behavior. Also available is The Oova Perimenopause Membership Kit ($129.99/month) for an ongoing test strip subscription with full-circle support from Oova’s hormone specialists and access to the Oova community.

Unraveling the Essentials of Healthcare Regulatory Compliance in Florida

In the ever-evolving landscape of healthcare, regulatory compliance stands as a cornerstone for ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality patient care. Understanding the intricacies of compliance in healthcare, particularly in states like Florida, is essential for healthcare providers and organizations. In this blog, we’ll delve into the concept of regulatory compliance in healthcare, with a specific focus on its significance in Florida and the role of regulatory compliance services in ensuring adherence to state-specific standards.

MIAMI, Dec. 6, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — In the ever-evolving landscape of healthcare, regulatory compliance stands as a cornerstone for ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, and high-quality patient care.

Defining Compliance in Healthcare:

Compliance in healthcare refers to the process of adhering to laws, regulations, guidelines, and standards set by government bodies and other authoritative organizations. It encompasses a wide range of areas, including patient care, privacy, billing, and the overall operations of healthcare entities. The primary goal of healthcare regulatory compliance is to safeguard patients, maintain the integrity of healthcare services, and uphold ethical standards within the industry.

The Regulatory Landscape in Healthcare:

The healthcare sector operates within a complex web of federal, state, and local regulations. In Florida, regulatory compliance is particularly crucial, given the state’s commitment to ensuring the highest standards of healthcare delivery. From licensing requirements for healthcare professionals to specific regulations governing healthcare facilities, Florida has a comprehensive framework in place to oversee and regulate the healthcare industry.

Healthcare Regulatory Compliance in Florida:

Florida’s healthcare regulatory landscape is multifaceted, covering a spectrum of areas that impact both individual practitioners and healthcare organizations. Key aspects of healthcare regulatory compliance in Florida include licensure requirements, patient privacy laws (such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act or HIPAA), billing and coding regulations, and standards for the quality of care provided.

Regulatory Compliance Services in Florida:

Navigating the intricate web of healthcare regulations in Florida can be a daunting task for healthcare providers. Regulatory compliance services play a pivotal role in assisting healthcare organizations in meeting and maintaining compliance standards. These services often include thorough assessments of current practices, development of customized compliance programs, staff training, and ongoing monitoring to ensure continuous adherence to regulatory requirements.

The Significance of Regulatory Compliance in Florida:

Ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations in Florida is not merely a matter of avoiding legal repercussions; it is about safeguarding the well-being of patients and upholding the integrity of the healthcare system. Non-compliance can result in legal consequences, financial penalties, damage to reputation, and, most importantly, compromised patient care. By prioritizing regulatory compliance, healthcare providers contribute to building trust among patients, fostering a culture of ethical practice, and ultimately enhancing the overall quality of healthcare services in the state.

Healthcare regulatory compliance is an ever-present responsibility for healthcare providers and organizations, particularly in a state like Florida with robust regulatory frameworks. Embracing the principles of compliance not only ensures legal adherence but also elevates the standard of patient care. Regulatory compliance services in Florida serve as invaluable partners in this journey, providing guidance and support to navigate the complex regulatory landscape and ultimately contribute to a healthcare environment that prioritizes safety, transparency, and excellence.

The CEI is an ever-evolving tool – a blueprint that companies can use to show up more effectively in supporting their LGBTQ+ employees and their families.”

The inaugural cohort of the PTA program began courses in the fall of 2022 and will graduate on December 15, 2023. Students will sit for their national licensure examination (NPTE) in the spring of 2024. The program currently has two cohorts of students.

Applications for the fall 2024 cohort will open on December 1, 2023, with a deadline for submission on March 31, 2024. The PTA program accepts a maximum of 18 students each fall semester. The program is a 1+1 degree model, meaning that students who have already completed prerequisite and general education requirements can complete the program in as few as three academic semesters. Students without any academic credit will need five semesters.

Classes are taught four days per week during the fall and spring semesters. The program is a three-semester blend of didactic and clinical education experiences. It includes 640 hours of clinical experience in both the outpatient and inpatient settings under the supervision of a licensed physical therapist or a physical therapist assistant who is supervised by a licensed physical therapist. At this time, students have completed clinical education rotations in Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Colorado and Wyoming. In addition to clinical education experiences, the program has created a voluntary medical missions experience to Honduras that takes place each summer.

Prentice serves as the PTA program director. A 2012 alumna of FHU, she has been a practicing clinician since 2015. Brian Vaughn, with more than 20 years of experience in the outpatient clinical setting, serves as the program’s director of clinical education. Both faculty members hold a Master of Education in curriculum and instruction from Freed-Hardeman University.

CAPTE is the only accreditation agency recognized by the United States Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation to accredit entry-level physical therapist and physical therapist education programs, according to its website. FreeOx Biotech Formally Launches Seed Round to Fund Phase III Pivotal Trial

Planned Phase III for Ox-01 to Begin in AIS in Early 2025 • Pivotal Trial to Evaluate Novel Adjunct Drug for Mechanical Thrombectomy

BARCELONA, Spain, Dec. 5, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — FreeOx Biotech SL, a late-stage clinical biopharmaceutical company pioneering the development of a novel drug class for Acute Ischemic Stroke (AIS), announced today the formal launch of a seed round to advance the company’s novel stroke drug into Phase III clinical development. Simultaneously, FreeOx said it had successfully completed a first close of €1.7 million from investors in Canada, the U.S., Spain, and Israel. The company has compelling Phase II data and plans to initiate a Phase III registrational trial of its first novel adjunct drug to be used in mechanical thrombectomy (MT) in AIS where reperfusion challenges exist despite positive outcomes in this modality. FreeOx has strong intellectual property covering Uric Acid and its use in stroke treatment.

According to Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer Emmett-Phil Coriat, “The endorsement of Uric Acid (UA), the active ingredient in Ox-01, our Phase III-ready investigational drug by the National Institutes of Health, NINDS’ SPAN (Stroke Preclinical Assessment Network), is central to our confidence in moving forward. As reported in SCIENCE TRANSLATIONAL MEDICINE, Uric Acid was the only one of five interventional drug candidates for which data supported further clinical evaluation, as it demonstrated unprecedented efficacy compared to the others. As such, the NINDS indicated potential interest in funding Ox-01’s Phase III trial.

“The NINDS’ advocacy underscores their confidence in the efficacy and potential of Ox-01 as a ground-breaking adjunct therapy in MT for AIS. We are confident that Ox-01 will significantly reduce disability in AIS patients.” Coriat added that that the company’s fundraising target was a total investment of €5 million and that the initial €1.7 million will be used primarily to advance FreeOx Biotech’s lead product, Ox-01 to a Phase III registrational trial in the U.S. In addition to the pharmaceutical grade Uric Acid active ingredient in Ox-01, FreeOx is building a pipeline based on a proprietary liposomal formulation technology that broadly expands opportunities in neurology.

Stroke Background

Stroke is the leading cause of disability worldwide, according to the American Stroke Association. While advances have been made with mechanical thrombectomy, significant unmet needs exist when 50 percent of Large Vessel Occlusion patients have insufficient restoration of their microcirculation and ensuing disabilities.

For more information about FreeOx Biotech and its groundbreaking stroke treatment technology, please visit the company’s website at https://freeoxbiotech.com/.

FreeOx’ s lead product, Ox-01, is Phase III- ready. FreeOx is building a pipeline based on a proprietary liposomal formulation technology that broadly expands opportunities in neurology. Founded by Dr. !ngel Chamorro, MD, a leading stroke neurologist and pioneer in the use of Uric Acid as an emergency treatment for AIS, FreeOx ‘s novel adjunct drug has been shown to reperfuse the brain microcirculation.
