New Patient Rounding Mobile App for Behavioral Health Improves Safety, Efficiency, Compliance and Quality of Care

patient rounding

AccuRound by Intelligent InSites

AccuRound puts data in the hands of caregivers to make timely, informed decisions.

Intelligent InSites, the leading provider of operational intelligence for healthcare, announces the launch of AccuRound by Intelligent InSites, a mobile application designed to streamline patient rounding processes in the behavioral health setting, making rounding more efficient and accurate, and delivering actionable data to provide better and safer patient care.

“In behavioral health, completing standard safety checks on time is critical to the health and well-being of patients,” says Shane Waslaski, President & CEO of Intelligent InSites. “Traditional manual processes have been counterproductive to these standards. AccuRound puts data in the hands of caregivers to make timely, informed decisions. It prompts caregivers to complete their next round, provides a more complete picture of their patient’s condition and needs, and ultimately provides them with the visibility to deliver the quality of care a patient needs.”

AccuRound provides care teams with mobile access to patient rounding priorities and key patient observation data. Leveraging Bluetooth Low Energy technology (BLE), AccuRound prioritizes patient rounds based on proximity of caregiver to patient. Each observer’s patient list automatically updates based on time from the prior observation and based on the observer’s proximity to each patient. This gives observers real-time visibility into which patient to see next in order to complete patient rounds on time.

Additionally, AccuRound provides visibility into key patient risk factors as well as prior observations and notes, giving care teams the data to proactively assess and plan for their next patient round. At each round, observers electronically record their observation, including interactions, activities, behaviors and notes within the customizable entry screen. If staff members need immediate assistance, a simple button press triggers an alert, sending a notification to team members. All of this functionality is available in-the-moment and on-the-go.

A suite of reports and analytics also come standard with AccuRound and are available at the click of a button. Compliance rates are automatically calculated and can be displayed by patient, observer or department. Each patient’s observation history can be viewed in detail to note any missed observations, or can be sorted by findings, location or time. Observations can be viewed by observer to evaluate compliance metrics, and dive into any associated discrepancies.

AccuRound removes the burden that comes with manual rounding processes, giving caregivers the power to make real-time decisions to deliver safer, more efficient and better patient care.

About Intelligent InSites

Intelligent InSites improves healthcare operational efficiency, patient flow and asset utilization with its advisory services and location-based software solutions. InSites automatically captures location data from RTLS, RFID and other locating technologies and integrates it with other health IT systems, such as EHR, CMMS and ERP. Intelligence is delivered to mobile devices, team view boards, and laptop or desktop computers to inform in-the-moment decisions, automate workflows and enhance care team communications. Advanced reporting, together with InSites’ process design and change management services, drives measurable improvements like decreased cycle time and wait time, increased access, safety and satisfaction and improved operating margins across clinics, acute care facilities and healthcare delivery networks.

e-Vision Smart Optics a recognized leader in Ophthalmic Solutions addresses the vast growing categories of reality products

With the rapid expansion of reality products and the growing list of terminology, eVision™ Optics has developed a comprehensive web overview to provide a greater understanding of the technology and terms in use today. The new categories are broken down into VR (Virtual Reality), AR (Augmented Reality), MR (Mixed Reality) and, more generally, XR (Extended Reality) to cover the entire range of reality uses aligned with vision.

In light of releases in publications like Forbes (See, 5 Important Augmented And Virtual Reality Trends For 2019 Everyone Should Read)* touting the transformative effect the different reality based offerings will have in the near future. And the recent announcement by The Motley Fool (Sep 24, 2019)** that Facebook is not only acquiring technology companies in the sector, Facebook is reportedly working on AR smart glasses. eVision Optics goal is to provide a detailed overview of the differences in the technologies and terminology for companies interested in licensing eVision Optics patents for electroactive optics and wearable electronic frames.

“The most fundamental component of any reality-based product is vision, and our patents cover in-eye, over the eye, and wearable devices that make the technology possible and we offer licensing for patent protection in this growing category,” Joel Zychick, CEO, eVision™ Optics.

New to the website

https://www.evisionoptics.com/reality-innovation/

The new website’s overview reality page covers the key areas and terminology associated with each including:

  • Augmented Reality (AR)
  • Virtual Reality (VR)
  • Mixed Reality (MR)
  • Extended Reality (XR)

Reality based vision products are growing at a rapid pace in a wide and varied marketplace. Examples cross a wide spectrum from consumer products to industrial applications and will soon be found in the frontiers of outer space with the developments eVision has created. eVision™ Optics patents can be the foundation for the possibilities of instant visualization of data to benefit people in real-world environments. Personal use is in rapid development as powerful microcomputers and cloud based connectivity deliver real-time data for immersive applications as per the Facebook announcement.

Extended Reality is enabling viewing in a simulated environment in real time merged with the physical environment, one example, Autodesk*** utilizing Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Mixed Reality (MR) providing the ability to visualize a home rendering while touring a property site or the visualization of an interior design in an unfinished building to speed up and stream-line the selection processes.

Mixed Reality (MR) for Military and law enforcement will benefit with real-time downloadable content that can protect and save lives, utilizing instantly updated data and graphics. They say “a picture is worth a thousand words” and when you consider the multitude of applications, realistic 3d modeling and data delivery served in a visual format, soon reality-based visual products will be as common as the cell phone technology we utilize every day.

“Technology trends are converging in reality reality-based vision products and for interaction they all are dependent on the vision interface. I believe that in the past, the terms, ‘Virtual Reality’ and ‘Augmented Reality’ covered most of the offerings. Today, so many new applications are being developed that people are struggling to name them. Regardless of what you call them, the most important element of the process of commercializing reality products is securing the intellectual property protection that eVision can offer,” said Tony Van Heugten, CTO, eVision™ Optics.

RCare Accepts ‘What If’ Challenge at LeadingAge Annual Meeting & Expo

Join us in San Diego

RCare at LeadingAge Expo, booth 1624

“This industry spends countless dollars catering to residents’ needs, wants and desires, but we are missing the boat on the most obvious problem: improving response times,” said Myron Kowal, CEO of RCare.

RCare, Inc., maker of award-winning nurse call and monitoring solutions, will be featured at the LeadingAge Annual Meeting & Expo in San Diego next week. This year’s LeadingAge theme is “What If…” RCare will be challenging communities to evaluate their own “what if” statements, in reference to improving quality, resident satisfaction and response times.

RCare will be showcasing their advanced nurse call and remote monitoring technologies as well as some new initiatives, including iCall, RCare’s new full-IP wired nurse call system, the HCube for affordable housing, and RCare’s new integration with Inovonics hardware. In addition, participants can get a sneak peek at the new RCare Mobile interface with multi-app support, and SafeKeeping, the new integrated engagement app that connects residents, families and clinicians.

Attendees can visit RCare in booth #1624 and learn how to improve response times, increase the quality of care, and guarantee better resident satisfaction. Attendees will also have the opportunity to take photos and post them on Twitter or Facebook with the hashtag #RMan or #RWoman for a chance to win great prizes, including JBL Bluetooth headsets and Go speakers, Amazon Fire TV Sticks, and more. Two grand prize winners will receive a personal pizza party for their co-workers and staff.

“This industry spends countless dollars catering to residents’ needs, wants and desires, but we are missing the boat on the most obvious problem: improving response times,” said Myron Kowal, CEO of RCare. “Residents expect an immediate response when a button is pressed. It’s clear that faster response times lead to better health and safety for residents, better peace of mind and better staff satisfaction.”

What if your nurse call system could help you with resident satisfaction? What if it could help with staff retention? What if you it could give you actionable data to help with QAPI? What if it could save your staff time by integrating with other systems you’re already using for wander management, door access, or records? What if it could save you money by working with your existing hardware? What if it could bring you powerful features, no matter what your size or budget?

What if your nurse call system could change the way your residents receive care, perceive and experience care? Visit RCare in booth #1624 and take your next step from “what if” to reality.

Sun Life Selects TreatGxplus as a Pharmacogenomic Solution for Employee Wellness

TreatGx supports the development of personalized treatment plans and prescribed medication options. It is a remarkable solution that is changing how we can help patients recover more quickly.

GenXys Health Care Systems is proud to share that Sun Life selected TreatGxplus as part of its disability management toolkit for plan sponsors. According to Sun Life, the goal is to help plan members get back to work faster and live healthier lives. The award-winning TreatGxplus solution, an advanced precision prescribing software including a pharmacogenetic test, is offered by LifeLabs, Canada’s largest diagnostic and laboratory company, in partnership with GenXys.

TreatGx, the precision prescribing application, presents over 40,000 prescription options and models out 250,000 drug interactions through its comprehensive and interactive online medication decision support engine. The cloud-based platform is accessible to patients and their healthcare providers across Canada and the United States.

“Identifying safe and effective medication options for the patient is the goal,” said Dr. Martin Dawes, a Professor of Family Medicine, Chief Scientific Officer of GenXys.”TreatGx helps us achieve that goal by supporting the development of personalized treatment plans and prescribed medication options. It is a remarkable solution that is changing how we can help patients recover more quickly.”

The adoption of pharmacogenetic solutions by leading insurance companies such as Sun Life and UnitedHealth Group reaffirms the growing role of genetics in primary care and across health systems. With the level of clinical utility and relevance provided by TreatGx, pharmacogenetics can now enable medication decision support at the point of care.

While the initial Sun Life deployment will focus on mental health and chronic pain, TreatGx covers 35+ conditions where there are high levels of pharmacogenetic evidence. Echoing the recent statement by the Association for Molecular Pathology, every health-related pharmacogenetic link in TreatGx is supported by the best clinical evidence. For clinical accuracy and relevance, the solution also includes other variables such as other conditions, concurrent medications, and biophysical data in its proprietary algorithms that set it apart from others.

Building on significant growth in Canada, GenXys is establishing its footprint in the US through strong strategic partnerships. It is also working with stakeholders from healthcare systems and labs to incorporate clinically relevant pharmacogenetics at the point of care for ‘nextgen’ prescribing.

“We are delighted that the inclusion of pharmacogenetics in primary care is becoming a reality on a mass scale. It is the most applicable and actionable use of genetics for increasing patient safety, improving population health, and reducing the cost of healthcare,” said Karl Pringle, CEO of GenXys.

About GenXys Health Care Systems Inc.

GenXys offers best-in-class precision prescribing solutions to solve healthcare’s most pressing challenges. Our precision prescribing software and pharmacogenetic solutions can prevent adverse drug reactions, a leading cause of death, and personalized drug selection to increase drug efficacy.
