Root Sciences announces partnership with GEA

Root Sciences and GEA have joined forces to introduce nano-emulsion technology for use in cannabinoid applications.

Cannabis and hemp nano-emulsions boast many advantages over traditional extracts for use in the manufacturing process of THC and CBD infused edibles, beverages and topicals. Infused products created with this form of nano-emulsion technology kick in faster to provide a much faster uptake in the body than traditional edibles – delivering a stronger, purer and more precise dosage.

“We look forward to working with GEA to distribute their industry-leading technology and to develop unique nano-emulsions that will drive innovation for our clients in the application to edibles, beverages and topicals. The ability to more precisely deliver dosages will have enormous potential benefits for the end consumer and for the industry.”

Nenad Yashruti, Founder and Sr VP Business Development

“As a leader in the industry, Root Sciences has demonstrated a visionary approach to edibles, first with wiped film short path distillation equipment that helped revolutionize the approach to edibles and now with our line of high pressure homogenizers that will bring additional substantial benefits via the unique nano emulsions products. We are excited to be working with Root Sciences to bring incredible benefits to the cannabis industry.”

ORHub, Inc. and eHealthAnalytics Announce a Strategic Relationship to Improve Cost Transparency and Device Success

ORHub, Inc. (OTC: ORHB; the “Company”) ORHUB Inc., a Microsoft Silver Partner and SaaS based surgical analytics company that educates surgeons on cost effective behavior, and eHealthAnalytics, a company built around the use of predictive analytics in healthcare with a focus on medical device adverse events and recalls, are pleased to announce their agreement to form a strategic relationship built around the development of a unique product in healthcare. The companies will jointly unveil their work at the StartUp Health conference in San Francisco on January 13-14, 2020.

The new product, once completed, would allow healthcare organizations and surgeons to assess predicted cost of procedures, and the probability and financial impact of a recall on selected devices, pre-operatively.

“Our work with ORHub will broaden the financial knowledge base for perioperative leadership when it comes to use of all medical devices,” said Gail Port CEO of eHealthAnalytics.

Using tools from ORHub’s Surgical Spotlight® with the predictive models from eHealthAnalytics’ MedDev PredictTM, the platform will be the first of its kind to take into consideration the co-morbid conditions of pre-operative patients. Not only will this allow for cost transparency before a surgical event, but also offer surgical teams information about the chosen devices for each patient.

“From a clinical point of view our unveiling of this new development with eHealthAnalytics, will be a major step forward for all surgical specialties and patient care,” said Dr. Robert “Bobby” Lazzara CEO of ORHub.

Air Transport Services Group Partners With OurHealth, Reopens Its Onsite Primary Care Clinic for Employees

OurHealth MyClinic

OurHealth MyClinic locations are found in popular retail and business centers. There are four MyClinic locations in the Greater Cincinnati area.

We believe that taking care of our employees is the right thing to do and leads to better productivity and efficiency—so it’s a win-win all around.

Through a partnership with Indianapolis-based OurHealth, Air Transport Services Group (ATSG) has reopened an onsite primary care clinic at their Wilmington Air Park facility. Nearly 1,000 employees and their family members will have access to the renovated health center as well as four other locations throughout the Greater Cincinnati area.

Named OurHealth @ Wilmington Air Park, the onsite clinic begins operations today and will provide comprehensive primary and immediate care medical services to covered ATSG employees and their families.

“We’re thrilled to be bringing this important benefit back,” said Joe Hete, Chief Executive Officer at ATSG. “We’ve experienced first-hand the impact that accessible, convenient and high-quality care has on people’s well being and overall quality of life. We believe that taking care of our employees is the right thing to do and lowers their out of pocket healthcare cost—so it’s a win-win all around.”

OurHealth entered the Cincinnati market in early 2019 with the launch of its industry-leading system of near-site primary care clinics, called the MyClinic network, which includes locations in Springdale, Kings Mills, Green Township and at Fourth and Main Streets in downtown Cincinnati. In addition to their onsite clinic at Wilmington Air Park, covered ATSG employees and their families will have access to all four Cincinnati MyClinic locations.

ATSG is the latest addition to OurHealth’s growing presence in Southwest Ohio. Last month OurHealth announced a partnership with Delhi Township, Ohio. Other Cincinnati area clients include First Financial Bank, Rumpke and Hamilton County, Ohio.

“We’re excited to be partnering with ATSG to provide care for their employees and their families,” said Ben Evans, OurHealth Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder. “We’re confident they’ll love the experience, and we can’t wait to build relationships that will have a lasting impact on their health, and of course their bottom line.”

Employers are attracted to OurHealth’s model for three key reasons — improved access to care for their employees and their dependents, independence from any hospital system or network allowing for unbiased referrals and robust reporting capabilities that allow business owners to easily understand their return on investment.

OurHealth clients enjoy an average savings of 17 percent on health plan costs through better management of chronic conditions, ER avoidance and reduced lab and drug costs. The company is on a mission to save employers $1 billion in healthcare costs, and to date has saved its clients more than $180 million. In 2019 alone OurHealth produced a total of $39 million in employer savings.

The company takes a patient-focused approach to care, including waiting room times of less than five minutes, appointments that average 20 to 40 minutes and a patient satisfaction score of 98 percent. OurHealth clients include a wide range of employers of all sizes and industries, including Anthem, Harris Teeter, CNO Financial Group and the Indianapolis Airport Authority.

About OurHealth

Founded in 2009, OurHealth provides employer-sponsored healthcare to organizations of all sizes via its onsite and near-site primary care clinics. OurHealth offers a comprehensive healthcare approach to its clients and their employees, which includes primary care services, wellness services, onsite laboratory and medication dispensing services and referral guidance. Liberty IT Solutions Awarded $35M Data Migration and Syndication Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) Support Services Task Order

Liberty IT Solutions, LLC (Liberty), which specializes in Health Information Technology, has been awarded a five-year (12-month Base Period plus four 12-month Option Periods) Task Order to support Data Migration (DM) and Data Syndication (DS) for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Electronic Health Record Modernization (EHRM) program.

With the imminent deployment of the Cerner EHR to replace the Veterans Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA), VA’s Cerner users (e.g. doctors, nurses, administrators, or other support staff) require a complete set of clinical, administrative, and financial data from across the VA Enterprise. Liberty’s support of continuous data migration from legacy VistA domains to the shared Cerner platform will enable clinical decision support, health registries, and many other key initiatives. Additionally, many VA programs and systems (e.g. Community Care, Suicide Prevention, clinical research and quality groups, etc.) will depend on data captured through VA’s Cerner implementation sites. Liberty’s delivery of Data Syndication services will enable a complete record of data residing within VA systems in support of VA programs and objectives.

Liberty CEO, Bill Greene says of the win: “Data migration and syndication is an important aspect of VA’s EHRM modernization effort, and Liberty is excited to improve DM and DS over the next five years as we deliver the safe and accurate transmission and maintenance of VA data.”

Liberty and partner Leidos, Inc. will maintain and improve VA system architectures, support new data sources originating outside of VA, and establish new solutions to achieve VA’s data consolidation objectives.

Lifecycle Biotechnologies Completes Full Integration of Chata Biosystems and VI Plastics

News Image

By operating under one company, we will simplify partner ordering and logistics without compromising the superior quality of our products and manufacturing processes.

With the integration, the company will continue to provide custom and semi-custom aqueous reagents, chemicals, and medias, as well as medical grade plastic products to the world’s leading pharmaceutical, medical device, biologics, diagnostics, cellular agriculture, and cell- and tissue-based product manufacturers.

“We are excited to bring even more advantages and convenience to our partners and supply chain,” said Cody Yarborough, CEO for Lifecycle Biotechnologies. “By operating under one company, we will simplify partner ordering and logistics without compromising the superior quality of our products and manufacturing processes.”

Lifecycle’s integration efforts will provide partners with more and enhanced product offerings under a unified marketing message. It will also align the way Lifecycle operates internally around its four major market divisions; Biopharmaceuticals, Cellular Agriculture, Industrial, and Regenerative Medicine. As these divisions continue to evolve, Lifecycle will be positioned at the forefront with its innovative products and industry relevant subject matter experts. The integration will also provide a higher and more intimate level of service across the organization to its partner base.

This is a natural evolution for the company since all brands will now be fully integrated. Following is a listing of the major changes that are part of this integration:

New legal name for Chata Biosystems and VI Plastics

Both Chata Biosystems and VI Plastics have officially changed their names to Lifecycle Biotechnologies, LP. This is a change in name and not a change in ownership. The products, the staff, and the facilities will remain the same.

Supplier qualification/requalification process

The name change may require that Lifecycle is set up as a new vendors. Lifecycle will do all it possibly can to support this activity. Lifecycle’s Quality Department personnel are available to provide information or to help in completing the supplier qualification paperwork.

ISO certificates

Lifecycle’s current ISO9001 and ISO13485 certificates already reflect Lifecycle Biotechnologies. Copies of these certificates can be download from their website at ISO9001 and ISO13485.

Packaging and documents

Chata Biosystems and VI Plastics will be utilizing the Lifecycle Biotechnologies name on all Packaging, COAs, SDSs, Quotes, Invoices, Packing Lists and all other documents. All documentation will show the Lifecycle Biotechnologies name and logo. It is possible during this transition that partners may see a Chata or VI Plastics logo on something, but by the end of Q1 2020 this should no longer occur.

Remit to address

As part of this integration Lifecycle is streamlining all accounting correspondence through their Fort Worth, Texas facility. Lifecycle will also be updating their banking information to align with the integration. This pertains to their partners remitting payment against invoices, or their vendors issuing invoices. The address to use for all accounting correspondence is:

Lifecycle Biotechnologies

Attn: Accounting

425 Houston Street, Suite 550

Fort Worth, TX 76102

Contact Lifecycle by e-mail at info@lifecyclebio.com, call them at 817.840.7855, or chat with them at http://www.lifecyclebio.com for help, further information, or for details pertaining to banking accounts and wire transfers.

Lifecycle understand that these types of changes are often a little burdensome; and asks for patience as they move closer to combining all of our services within one Lifecycle to give their partners seamless access to all of their products. As they prepare for the next decade with a vision for the future, Lifecycle Biotechnologies looks forward to continued excellence and expansion.

Based in Ft. Worth, TX, Lifecycle Biotechnologies has served the life science industry for over 40 years. Lifecycle’s products are the beginning of the lifecycle of the lifesaving and life-enhancing medical products used globally today. As a leading life sciences tools and service supplier, Lifecycle fully understands the critical role its products play in many of the world’s leading pharmaceuticals, medical devices, biologics, diagnostics, cellular agriculture, cell- and tissue-based products, and many other medical products. While Lifecycle’s products aren’t used to diagnose, treat, or cure patients, without their contribution, none of this would be possible.

Smiles for Everyone Foundation Volunteers

“Our promise of providing Smiles for Everyone extends far beyond just our paying patients,” says Smile Brands Inc. CEO, Steven C. Bilt.

The Smiles for Everyone Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization affiliated with Smile Brands Inc., is pleased to announce that in 2019, the organization donated $5 million worth of dental services for individuals in need across the United States and internationally. Nearly 8,000 individuals benefited from these services worldwide. During this record year, the Foundation hosted 27 domestic free dental clinics, led one large-scale International Outpost Trip and conducted 23 other outreaches at their Outposts in Cambodia, Ghana, Laos, Nicaragua, Paraguay and Thailand.

The Foundation’s network of volunteers is comprised almost entirely of Smile Brands affiliated dental professionals and support staff. The impact of the Foundation’s events would not have been possible without the 1,200 volunteers who participated in SFEF’s programs. Giving back is a key component of Smile Brands’ award-winning company culture. The company has been on the Glassdoor Best Places to Work list for the past three years and was named Employer of the Year by the American Business Awards in 2018 and 2019.

“Our promise of providing Smiles for Everyone extends far beyond just our paying patients,” says Smile Brands Inc. CEO, Steven C. Bilt. “The passion and dedication of our team members make it possible for the Foundation to provide Smiles for Everyone to those that need it the most.”

The Smiles for Everyone Foundation’s U.S. based free dental clinics, known as Days of Giving, were held at Smile Brands affiliated offices across the country. The Foundation partnered with local nonprofit organizations to identify patients for these clinics, ensuring that low-income, underinsured individuals were provided with the opportunity to access much-needed dental care that they otherwise would not be able to afford. In March, a team of Smile Brands affiliated volunteers also visited the Foundation’s Outposts in Thailand and Laos on a two-week service trip. On this trip, the team provided care to some of the most impoverished areas in the two countries, and conducted trainings for local dentists and dental staff to continue serving communities in need throughout the year.

“A huge thank you, especially for my wife,” exclaimed patient Ed C. from the West Valley, Utah Day of Giving. “She had been feeling pain for months, and it hurt me a lot because I couldn’t afford treatment. Every time she cried, I cried with her,” continued Ed. “But now we will smile together.”

Since 2011, the Smiles for Everyone Foundation has provided care for over 26,000 individuals worldwide, donating over $19 million in dentistry.

In 2020, the Smiles for Everyone Foundation plans to deliver more smiles around the world with the help of even more volunteers. They plan to host a Day of Giving nearly every weekend across the country as well as conduct multiple international trips, including launching a new International Outpost. NeoTract Designates Pankaj M. Jain as UroLift® Center of Excellence

News Image

“We are pleased to recognize Dr. Pankaj M. Jain as a UroLift Center of Excellence for his commitment to providing consistent care to BPH patients using the UroLift System treatment,” said Dave Amerson

NeoTract, a wholly owned subsidiary of Teleflex Incorporated (NYSE:TFX) focused on addressing unmet needs in the field of urology, today announced that Pankaj M. Jain, MD, Arizona Urology in Goodyear AZ, has been designated as a UroLift® Center of Excellence. The designation recognizes that Dr. Jain has achieved a high level of training and experience with the UroLift® System and demonstrated a commitment to exemplary care for men suffering from symptoms associated with Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH), also known as enlarged prostate.

Recommended for the treatment of BPH in both the American Urological Association and European Association of Urology clinical guidelines, the FDA-cleared Prostatic Urethral Lift procedure using the UroLift System is a proven, minimally invasive technology for treating lower urinary tract symptoms due to BPH. The UroLift permanent implants, delivered during a transurethral outpatient procedure, relieve prostate obstruction and open the urethra directly without cutting, heating, or removing prostate tissue.

The UroLift Center of Excellence program is designed to highlight urologists who are committed to educating their patients on BPH and the UroLift System as a treatment option and consistently seek to deliver excellent patient outcomes and experiences.

“We are pleased to recognize Dr. Pankaj M. Jain as a UroLift Center of Excellence for his commitment to providing consistent care to BPH patients using the UroLift System treatment,” said Dave Amerson, president of the Teleflex Interventional Urology business unit. “This achievement has helped many patients experience durable, long-term relief from the burdensome symptoms of BPH while preserving sexual function*1,2.”

Over 40 million men in the United States are affected by BPH, a condition that occurs when the prostate gland that surrounds the male urethra becomes enlarged with advancing age and begins to obstruct the urinary system. Symptoms of BPH often include interrupted sleep and urinary problems and can cause loss of productivity, depression and decreased quality of life.

Medication is often the first-line therapy for enlarged prostate, but relief can be inadequate and temporary. Side effects of medication treatment can include sexual dysfunction, dizziness and headaches, prompting many patients to quit using the drugs. For these patients, the classic alternative is surgery that cuts, heats or removes prostate tissue to open the blocked urethra. While current surgical options can be very effective in relieving symptoms, they can also leave patients with permanent side effects such as urinary incontinence, erectile dysfunction, and retrograde ejaculation.

About the UroLift® System

The FDA-cleared UroLift System is a proven, minimally invasive technology for treating lower urinary tract symptoms due to benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). The UroLift permanent implants, delivered during a minimally invasive transurethral outpatient procedure, relieve prostate obstruction and open the urethra directly without cutting, heating, or removing prostate tissue. Clinical data from a pivotal 206-patient randomized controlled study showed that patients with enlarged prostate receiving UroLift implants reported rapid and durable symptomatic and urinary flow rate improvement without compromising sexual function*1,2. Patients also experienced a significant improvement in quality of life. Over 100,000 men have been treated with the UroLift System in the U.S. Most common adverse events reported include hematuria, dysuria, micturition urgency, pelvic pain, and urge incontinence. Most symptoms were mild to moderate in severity and resolved within two to four weeks after the procedure. The Prostatic Urethral Lift procedure using the UroLift System is recommended for the treatment of BPH in both the American Urological Association and European Association of Urology clinical guidelines. The UroLift System is available in the U.S., Europe, Australia, Canada, Mexico and South Korea. Learn more at http://www.UroLift.com.
