CWCBExpo Launches CWCBEducation to Create First-of-its-Kind Entrepreneur Programs for Cannabis and Hemp Companies to Scale their Business

Our vision is to democratize business knowledge by creating pathways for entrepreneurs, regardless of background, education, race, nationality or gender, to learn, integrate, and participate in the wealth creation of this billion dollar industry.

CWCBEducation, a new business initiative from CWCBExpo (Cannabis World Congress & Business Expo), is the first-of-its-kind learning curriculums to help foreign and domestic cannabis, hemp, and CBD entrepreneurs prepare for US market entry or expand their established business.

“The industry is overdue for a comprehensive and credible education program that provides a multi-layered approach to learning, culminating with pitches to potential investors and customers,” said Leo Bridgewater, Head of Innovation, CWCBEducation and Advisory Committee Member, CWCBExpo. “Our vision is to democratize business knowledge by creating pathways for entrepreneurs, regardless of background, education, race, nationality or gender, to learn, integrate, and participate in the wealth creation of this billion dollar industry.”

The CWCBEducation programs will be based on the rich experience and content of Venture Hive, which has been designing, leading and executing global entrepreneur accelerator programs since 2013. Customized to the unique needs of the cannabis, hemp and CBD industries, the three (3) distinct programs will be offered prior to the CWCBExpo events in New York City (Oct. 1-3), Boston (Oct. 21-22), and Los Angeles (March 3-4, 2021).

The legal cannabis industry is still the fastest growing industry in the United States. In 2024, legal adult-use and medical cannabis sales are expected to exceed $30 billion, surpassing legacy industries including prescribed pain medication, OTC sleep aids, and other CPG categories.

“The CWCBExpo trade shows and conferences have been at the forefront of professionalizing the business side of the industry since 2014. CWCBEducation is the latest in expanding our product offerings and creating assets to credibly prepare companies for growth, scale and investment,” said Christine Ianuzzi, Managing Partner, CWCBExpo.

The CWCBEducation programs include:

US Market Entry for Entrepreneurs – 4 to 6 week program to help existing foreign entrepreneurs enter the US Market through strategic sales and partnerships, and making a debut through a CWCBExpo conference session launch. The program includes weekly cohort meetings, weekly individual mentoring, 10-20 hours of weekly content to complete assignments and includes show floor presence in the CWCBEducation Pavilion and conference registration fees at CWCBExpo.

Product Launch at CWCBExpo – 8 to 12 week program for NEW products to be launched at any CWCBExpo event. The program includes weekly cohort meetings, weekly individual mentoring, 15-20 hours of weekly content to complete assignments and is coupled with a show floor presence in the CWCBEducation Pavilion and conference registration fees at CWCBExpo.

Scale Your Business Accelerator – 8 to 12 week program for existing companies with $250K to $20M in annual revenue. The program includes weekly cohort meetings, weekly individual mentoring, 10-20 hours of weekly content to complete assignments and is coupled with show floor presence in the CWCBEducation Pavilion and conference registration fees at CWCBExpo.

For those companies that successfully complete any of the above programs, they will be invited to pitch their company during a showcase Demo Day (Live or Virtual) in front of a group of potential investors.

“This marks an exciting turning point for the industry with CWCBExpo leading the pack through this international education initiative tailored for domestic and foreign cannabis/hemp/CBD entrepreneurs and companies. Through these three distinct programs, we will be able to provide a solid business foundation from which to build and scale as CWCBEducation plays the role of guide and mentor,” added Dr. Susan Amat, Founder of Venture Hive and who currently serves as VP of Education of the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN).

Sergio Mankita, a seasoned marketing and business development executive, based out of Miami, FL will lead these initiatives as General Manager for CWCBEducation.

NOVA ScriptsCentral Launches New Partnership

Nova ScriptsCentral has joined in a partnership with Honeybee Health offering a 10% discount to both patients and clinics. Through this partnership NOVA ScriptsCentral will be able to expand its offering of affordable prescription medications to a wider range of people outside of their patient base. With 30 percent of providers stating their patients are unable to pay for prescriptions during the COVID-19 pandemic the NOVA ScriptsCentral and Honeybee Health partnership will be yet another tool in both companies’ arsenal designed to improve the quality of pharmaceutical care provided to their patients. This offering continues to expand the impact Honeybee Health and NOVA Scripts Central have on the health care community as a whole by eliminating the need for people to qualify through 3rd party vendors and allowing patients to get prescriptions delivered directly to their homes.

“This kind of partnership is what we at NOVA ScriptsCentral are all about. Finding solutions that can have a significant impact on not only our community but those beyond it. Having the ability to offer the discounts Honeybee Health provides gives us the opportunity to have an even greater impact on the health of our Northern Virginia community and beyond.”

“Generic prescription medications aren’t actually expensive and don’t require insurance for purchase, but patients too often don’t have access to them,” said Dr. Jessica Nouhavandi, lead pharmacist, co-founder, and CEO of Honeybee Health. “We’re proud to partner with NOVA ScriptsCentral during this time of unprecedented job loss in order to help ensure that Northern Virginia residents continue to have access to the medications they need. “

Mid-Sized to Large Employers Adopt iDirectDoc Telehealth Direct Primary Care Platform to Accelerate Virtual Care & Reduce Cost

News Image

Especially given the current COVID-19 pandemic, large companies across the US are struggling financially. Building a bridge that connects your employees to direct primary care physicians is more important than ever.

iDirectDoc, the nation’s leading direct primary care telemedicine company, today announced that it is offering large, self-insured employers an advanced platform to build a network of direct primary care (DPC) physicians to improve member health, reduce the total cost of care, and decrease risk.

“Direct primary care is a highly affordable way for self-insured employers to encourage virtual care in order to keep their employees healthy and prevent the onset of disease, resulting in reduced healthcare costs for the employer as well as fewer missed work days and higher productivity,” says Terry Cooper, CEO of iDirectDoc. “Especially given the current COVID-19 pandemic, large companies across the US are struggling financially. Building a bridge that connects your employees to direct primary care physicians is more important than ever.”

The iDirectDoc platform provides a remote telemedicine solution to DPC physicians for all types of health screenings and medical assessments, including vital statistics, images and clinical documentation to support an initial diagnosis and triage patients in the most efficient manner possible. The DPC model means that physicians can focus on care delivery rather than the administrative burden of managing EMRs and working with insurance companies.

For self-insured employers, the DPC model is another option for employees who have a health reimbursement account (HRA) as an alternative to HMO or PPO plans provided by major commercial payers. A relationship with iDrectDoc allows employers to connect employees directly to a DPC physician for their healthcare needs, which has proven to reduce health-related costs.

On June 10 of this year, the IRS released proposed regulations stating that, via an HRA, employers may now reimburse employees for DPC payments. This allows both the employer and employee to bypass the necessity of being mired in the bureaucracy and heavy administrative lift of working with large commercial insurers. The IRS is accepting comments on the proposed regulations through August 9.

The current financial and public health situation in the US has created the perfect storm to make DPC telehealth a necessity. Large employers are struggling financially after months of business closures mandated due to the COVID-19 crisis, hospitals are overcrowded while physicians’ offices are practically empty, and telehealth has become the norm as patients seek to avoid contracting the disease. For self-insured employers, offering employees DPC options through iDrectDoc addresses all these challenges.

About iDirectDoc

iDirectDoc is a telemedicine solution whose mission is to make quality healthcare accessible to all who need it, regardless of financial or geographic limitations. iDirectDoc offers physicians a turnkey direct primary care solution that prioritizes the patient-physician relationship, eliminates payer bureaucracy and eliminates unnecessary administration. The iDirectDoc solution provides mobile-based, dynamic interactions that fulfill critical needs in the moment and facilitate direct communication with patients. It also improves efficiency regarding administrative tasks including order management and documentation, medication administration, appointments and scheduling, Comprehensive Health Records (CHR), and physician’s desk references. We are thrilled to offer affordable assisted living options to seniors who never thought assisted living was financially achievable, and to do it right here in our own hometown.

A VIP Preview Party and Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony will be held for Evergreen Village at Fort Wayne, a new affordable assisted lifestyle community for older adults that is opening in July.

The event will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2020 at the community, which is located at 12523 Auburn Road in Fort Wayne, Indiana. The community is conveniently located by the hospital and provides easy access to amenities in the area and connects to the bike trail and Northeast Indiana United Trails.

This multimillion-dollar development is designed for seniors of all incomes who need some help to maintain their independence.

“We will be providing older adults with a wonderful alternative to a nursing home or to struggling alone at home,” said Evergreen Village Administrator Amanda Palace.

As an affordable assisted living facility, Evergreen Village will make assisted living a realistic option for seniors who have been unable to afford this type of community in the past. The community will combine residential apartment-home living with the availability of personal assistance, medication administration and a variety of convenience and support services, such as meals, housekeeping, laundry and transportation.

Residents will live in private apartments that they will furnish and decorate to their tastes. Each of the apartments will feature a kitchenette, spacious bathroom with shower and grab bars, individually controlled heating and air conditioning and emergency alert system.

In addition, Evergreen Village offers several areas for residents to enjoy, including a bistro, private dining room, lounges, fitness center, recreation room/theater, library/computer room and other amenities.

Certified nursing assistants, working under the direction of a licensed nurse, will be on-duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

“Residents also will benefit from all of the opportunities that will be available to socialize with friends and neighbors and to participate in activities and special programs,” says Palace.

When fully occupied, the community will provide 51 full and part-time jobs. Annual payroll with benefits is projected to be nearly $2 million.

Evergreen Village at Fort Wayne will be certified to operate through the Division of Aging and regulated by the Indiana State Department of Health.

Evergreen Partners is excited to bring one of its high-quality, residential-style affordable assisted living communities to Fort Wayne and the surrounding areas.

The Architectural Team, Inc. designed the community, and construction was completed by T&W Corporation.

Another Evergreen Village property is located in Bloomington, Ind.

“Our focus,” says Rod Burkett, CEO of Gardant Management Solutions, the company that manages the community “is to provide Evergreen Village residents with the love, compassion and dignity they deserve and the help and assistance they need. COO of the 2016 Rio Olympics Brings Game Changing Cleaning Product to the USA

The Brazilian-based B2B cleaning line YVY Naturals, once known for selling to hospitals, schools and green buildings, is bringing its easy-to-use, eco-friendly products to consumers in the USA.

“During one of the biggest crises of the Rio 2016 Games, we had a huge challenge to fix and clean the Olympic Village, approximately 20,000 rooms,” Tostes said. “The situation was a mess and we would need a lot of speed to increase productivity from our teams.”

The Olympic Games have the power to transform lives. While many stories focus on athlete Cinderella dreams coming to fruition, we often forget about how this worldwide event impacts numerous people working behind the scenes. The 2016 summer games in Rio de Janeiro did more than award record-setting champions, it spurred the idea for a new way to clean.

YVY Naturals (pronounced ee-vee) owes its success in part to the complicated logistics of cleaning the Olympic Village. The brand makes the high-performance cleaning agents that are made with 100 percent Brazilian citrus and Amazonian flowers with one additional twist. These formulas come packaged ultra-concentrated in a container no bigger than a coffee capsule.

Rodrigo Tostes, YVY Naturals co-founder, first discovered the power and convenience of these cleaning pods as he was appointed 2016 Summer Olympics Chief Operating Officer. He had a very large role even before the opening ceremony, managing 400,000 people in 56 areas: transportation, security, technology, accreditation, accommodations, and venues to name a few.

If overseeing the large-scale logistics of over 60 million items wasn’t enough of a challenge, he took on an additional role, one in crisis management. The Rio 2016 Olympic Village has been described as the largest in Olympic history, but a dark cloud overshadowed this architectural achievement.

Some officials deemed the athletes’ village as “unlivable” and unsafe due to major plumbing and electrical hazards discovered before the opening. Blocked toilets, leaking pipes, exposed wiring, unlit stairwells, and dirty floors were among the reported problems at some apartments in the complex. The Rio Olympic organizers conceded that there were isolated cases of sabotage by employees during village construction.

“During one of the biggest crises of the Rio 2016 Games, we had a huge challenge to fix and clean the Olympic Village, approximately 20,000 rooms,” Tostes said. “The situation was a mess and we would need a lot of speed to increase productivity from our teams.”

He turned to his lifelong friend and YVY Naturals co-founder Marcelo Ebert Ribeiro, who was the CEO of a cleaning company at the time. It produced 100 percent natural products, which Tostes found to be beneficial for two reasons. Workers could clean rooms safely with the athletes already there and they would have less environmental impact; eco-friendly options were highly preferred in the host city that struggled with pollution.

When Ebert Ribeiro mentioned testing out a new solution that would create less waste, Tostes became immediately interested. Before testing finished, he ordered 2,000 samples. Ebert Ribeiro drove from São Paulo to Rio de Janeiro with the pods and testing them at the Olympic site proved to be successful.

Tostes saw this type of product as a game-changer. His teams could move faster to clean thousands of rooms because the pods were much lighter cleaning supplies. Not only did they save time and money, they reduced plastic not needing to toss out single-use bottles when empty, and pods were much easier to store.

These capsules were the first prototypes of YVY Naturals. Today, the company is on a mission to streamline your cleaning routine. Products come delivered right to your door. Customers can sign up for their subscription-based service and pause at any time.

First time users choose from home, bathroom, kitchen, and all-purpose solution kits. From there, they select how often they would like to receive the refill pods. The cleaners work by adding water to the kit bottles, placing the capsule on top, and fastening the spray nozzle.

These industrial-grade formulas clean effectively, yet they’re safe to use with kids and pets too.

About YVY Naturals: The Brazilian-based B2B line once known for selling to hospitals, schools and green buildings is bringing its easy-to-use, eco-friendly products to consumers in the USA. Named after the Brazilian indigenous word that means the communion between man and nature, YVY is committed to formulating products with non-toxic ingredients that are better for the planet in forms that eliminate less single use plastic and rely on a consumer’s own water consumption.
