2020 Slow Wine US Tour celebrates the 10th Anniversary of its Annual English Language Guide and a Decade of Success


This February, Slow Food International and Slow Wine Editore will release the latest English-language edition of the Slow Wine Guide, the renowned annual guide to over 500 different wineries worldwide, celebrating its 10th anniversary during the 2020 Slow Wine Tour.

The guide, born in 2010, marked a revolutionary moment in the history of Italian wine writing, when editors-in chief Giancarlo Gariglio and Fabio Giavedoni decided to abandon the score-based mentality to look beyond the technical and tasting notes of each label and dig deeper into the wines’ soul. The “Slow philosophy” takes into consideration the wineries sustainable farming practices and the unique story that link them with the territory and its people. Like Slow Food, from which it developed, the wines must be “good, clean and fair”. This intuition proved to be right making Slow Wine one the most comprehensive and acclaimed Italian wine guides in the world, thus naturally expanding its vision outside Italy, with the inclusion of Slovenian wineries in 2017, California ones in 2018 and Oregon in 2019.

“We are very proud of the path we started 10 years ago”, said Gariglio, “having contributed to raise the awareness of environmental and social consciousness, some of the most debated and urgent topics nowadays. Not only are consumers more careful and interested in discovering this ethical way of working, but the world of wine itself is changing with more and more producers joining the slow movement.”

The next step will be the inclusion of wineries from the East Coast, such as New York, Virginia, Maryland, and more in 2021.

A selection of producers from California and Oregon will participate in the annual US Tour together with a delegation of top Italian Slow Wine wineries, making stops in five cities nationwide, San Francisco, Seattle, Denver, New York and Boston. Attendees will get a chance to preview its innovative guide, discover new wines and meet the people behind the Italian and American select producers who represent the Slow Wine values. The Italian Trade Commission will continue its support to the Slow Wine US Tour, this year in Seattle, as a wonderful way to showcase the best of what the Made in Italy has to offer.

In Arizona, 57 Isagenix customers, employees, and employees’ family members participated in the Arizona Meal Pack for 9/11 Day, helping pack 67,400 meals for food-insecure individuals.
  • In October, the company released the “2018-2019 Isagenix Social Impact Report” detailing how Isagenix makes a positive impact on communities, employees, and the planet. For example, on Earth Day 2018, the company began transitioning IsaLean® Shake and IsaPro canisters to 100% post-consumer recycled (PCR) plastic.
