Plum Market Kitchen @ The Henry Ford features chef-crafted, prepared foods available for breakfast, lunch and dinner with an emphasis on all natural, organic and locally sourced ingredients accommodating special dietary needs including gluten free, dairy free, vegetarian and vegan. The menu includes Plum Market’s signature collection of recipes along with new dishes developed exclusively for The Henry Ford. MRM Health also confirmed the successful completion of its first external investment round with the participation of Ackermans & van Haaren, DuPont, MRM Technologies, Qbic II and VIB.

DuPont and MRM Health will join forces to tackle a range of metabolic diseases, in which the proprietary MRM Health technology platform and some selected DuPont strains will be combined to develop novel therapeutics based on live bacterial strain combinations.

Through the strategic partnership with VIB, MRM Health will leverage the extensive complementary microbiome and bioinformatics capabilities of the lab of Professor Jeroen Raes, VIB – KU Leuven and the multidisciplinary know-how and patient insights in arthritis and inflammatory diseases of Professor Dirk Elewaut, VIB – UGent and his team.

Breast Cancer Foundation Announces Annual Awards Recipients


HERS Breast Cancer Foundation today named the recipients of its annual HERS Awards which will be presented on Saturday, May 2, 2020, at the Foundation’s festive and inspiring People with Purpose Gala at Castlewood Country Club in Pleasanton, California.

Given to individuals and organizations who demonstrate outstanding dedication to breast cancer survivors and the Foundation’s programs, the HERS awards represent what the organization strives to provide for each of its patients: Hope, Empowerment, Renewal, and Support.

The 2020 award recipients are the Tri-City Voice, Alameda County Supervisor Scott Haggerty (District 1), Washington Hospital Healthcare System Nurse Tammy Ballantyne, and Dutra Enterprises, Inc.

The Tri-City Voice is a weekly locally owned newspaper that covers events and news of the Bay Area’s diverse southeast region. Founded in 2002, the publication provides in-depth, timely reporting and is committed to encouraging understanding among Bay Area residents and communities. Its founders and owners, Bill and Sharon Marshak, are strong advocates of philanthropic causes and work tirelessly to connect those in need with appropriate services. The publication will receive the Foundation’s Hope Award.

Alameda County Supervisor Scott Haggerty (District 1) will receive the Foundation’s Empowerment Award for his outstanding commitment to under-served breast cancer patients. A highly dedicated and determined patient advocate, Supervisor Haggerty has connected hundreds of survivors with HERS so they may receive the post-surgical products and services they need for physical healing and dignity restoration. Scott Haggerty will receive the Foundation’s Empowerment Award.

Tammy Ballantyne, BS, RN, OCN, has spent her entire nursing career with Washington Hospital Healthcare System. A caring and compassionate nurse with the hospital’s Sandy Amos, RN, Infusion Center, Tammy has been a nurse for 15 years and truly enjoys her second career. She is highly regarded by her peers for her expertise and professionalism, and beloved by patients for her compassion and warmth. Tammy will receive the Foundation’s Renewal Award.

Dutra Enterprises, Inc., is a regional real estate and investment company with nearly 50 years of experience coordinating projects and creating community relationships. The company’s values include uplifting under-served community members and they are well known for preparing and serving lunches for participants of HERS Breast Cancer Foundation’s Annual 5k/10k Walk/Run. In addition to financial organizational support, Dutra Enterprises has provided many thousands of lunches for HERS walkers and runners over the past 20 years.
