The first Judging Period’s finalists are Steve Hurley of Calgary, Alberta; Jody Jamieson of Headingley, Manitoba; Natalie Burke of Barrie, Ontario; and Paddy Treavor of Powell River, British Columbia.

Finalists will receive CA$3,000 each as well as tickets and paid expenses for themselves and a guest to Canada Celebration 2021. Each finalist will be introduced onstage at the event, where the IsaBody® Grand Prize Winner will be announced. The IsaBody Challenge and Canada Celebration are hosted by Isagenix.

The four finalists were selected out of thousands of participants across Canada who completed the IsaBody Challenge during the most recent Judging Period. A total of 12 finalists will compete for a chance to win the grand prize of CA$10,000.

“These outstanding individuals have achieved impressive transformations by combining hard work, dedication, and our exceptional nutrition solutions,” said Travis Ogden, chief executive officer of Isagenix. “We’re thrilled to congratulate them not only on becoming finalists but also on setting inspiring examples for how to embrace and achieve healthy change.”

Steve Hurley, Alberta

Age: 51

Challenges Completed: 4

After initially losing 100 pounds using Isagenix products, Steve joined the IsaBody Challenge. The program helped him stay accountable, lose 74 pounds, and start building lean muscle.* Steve says the key to success has been consistency. Whether he’s lifting at the gym, swimming, spinning, or running, he’s putting in the work and fueling his recovery with Isagenix products. He’s also enjoying helping others with their own health and wellness journeys.

Jody Jamieson, Manitoba

GenoPalate’s personalized nutrition technology helps people optimize their food choices.

Genomics takes us to the next phase of personalization. Very soon it will be used not only for eating and health, but also for many other aspects of our lifestyle

GenoPalate and Edamam have formed a strategic partnership to make the world’s largest food and recipe database accessible to people using their own genetic information to eat a healthier diet.

The partnership puts both companies in the forefront of the increasingly popular trend of personalized eating and nutrition.

The alliance benefits both companies: Edamam is moving more seriously into the nutrigenomic space; GenoPalate customers will receive more variety, quality and quantity of food choices and the ability to integrate those foods into numerous recipes.

“This partnership will give our users a much wider range of information about food and nutritional content and a broader set of recipes that will help them do an even better job of eating for their biology,” said Yi Sherry Zhang, Founder and CEO of GenoPalate, a Milwaukee genetics-based, data-driven personal nutrition company that uses customers’ genetic, anthropometric and lifestyle data to help determine a personalized nutrition profile that shows them which foods are good and bad for their health.

“Our database of more than 750,000 foods and over 5 million recipes will be a powerful tool for GenoPalate members who are using modern genetic information to inform their eating decisions,” said Victor Penev, Founder and CEO of Edamam, a New York-based company, providing nutrition data solutions to businsses in the food, health and wellness sectors.

Edamam continuously updates and enhances database, adding new items as they appear. More than 70,000 new food products enter the market place each year, although the majority do not survive beyond 3 months. By having deep and accurate data, Edamam helps its clients’ consumers make sense of that ever-changing landscape.

Starting in the fall of 2020, GenoPalate members will be able to access the Edamam information through the company’s mobile and web applications.

“Genomics takes us to the next phase of personalization. Very soon it will be used not only for eating and health, but also for many other aspects of our lifestyle,” said Yi Sherry Zhang.

Today Spivi® Announces Spivi Home, a New Service for Gyms and Fitness Studios That Offers in-Gym Cycling Experience for Home Users and in-Studio Users

Spivi Home

Revital Alon, Certified Indoor Cycling Instructor

When you bring your facility to operate in the digital space, you open your business to many more potential members

Spivi®, an industry leader in digital interactive displays and performance tracking, announced Spivi Home, the world’s first service for fitness facilities, gyms and boutique studios to bring home users to ride together with gym members, virtually presented as avatars, in an immersive, animated scenery. Home users can connect using the Spivi Home app, which is launching on Windows and Mac computers and can connect with indoor cycling bikes equipped with ANT+ and BLE sensors. iOS and Android versions of the app will be available in Q3 2020.

Spivi technology collects both in-studio and at-home exercisers’ data such as power, cadence, speed, distance, and heart rate directly from the bikes and heart-rate sensors. During the class, home users see their live performance metrics on an app at home, and gym members see it on a display inside the studio. They both are able to take part in visual challenges and fitness tests. Home users can communicate with the instructor through gestures and a live video feed, and use their webcams to be seen by the instructor and others in the class, all in one application, without the use of a 3rd party streaming service.

Fitness facilities and studios can leverage the performance tracking features of Spivi to serve more users while complying with social distancing restrictions and also keeping them safe and engaged in an immersive workout experience. They can now seamlessly add home users to their daily classes.

Shay Amir, Spivi CEO, said: “When you bring your facility to operate in the digital space, you open your business to many more potential members. From a local business, it becomes a boundaryless facility, able to acquire more members from all over the nation. With a club-first approach, we help fitness facilities to grow their business, allowing them to use their Spivi systems to stream their indoor cycling classes to members, from the comfort of their home.”

Nir Hasson, Spivi CTO, said: “The new platform demonstrates how technology and great product design can lead to outstanding results. We are excited to bring our customers a cutting edge solution and help them in this competitive environment.”

SOCIAL DISTANCING CALLS FOR THE 17th ANNUAL TOUR DE ELIZABETH TO BE HELD VIRTUALLY

Each May for the past 16 years, after months of cold winter weather, nearly one-thousand cyclists of every skill level gather for one of New Jersey’s largest recreational bicycle rides – the annual Tour de Elizabeth. The State’s 4th largest city is filled with history, recreation, food, outdoor spaces, and is in the final stages of connecting Elizabeth to NY State via a new bicycle and pedestrian walkway joining the Elizabeth River Trail with a path built on the Goethals Bridge.

Due to the Corona Virus Pandemic, the annual May event for 2020 will offer riders a safe ‘virtual’ approach to the annual tour. A video highlighting the Tour route and points of interest along the route is due to launch on May 17th on the Tour de Elizabeth Facebook page promptly at 9:00 am, its original ride time, at https://www.facebook.com/TourdeElizabeth. The theme for this year’s ride is “Superheros for a Supercity”, featuring Elizabeth’s hometown hero’s as they celebrate the frontline workers for all they are doing to help keep our city safe.

There is a great deal of community support for this new platform for the Tour, starting with Chris Bollwage, the City’s Mayor. “The weather is warmer, and the trees are blossoming, which means it’s that time of year that we come together for one of our most anticipated events, the Tour de Elizabeth,” said Mayor J. Christian Bollwage. “This year, however, is quite different due to the unprecedented times we are in but our residents and visitors’ health is our top priority. So, we are happy to present to you our first time ever, Virtual Tour de Elizabeth. Being the fourth largest city in New Jersey, we have a lot to show you – so join us on this Tour, check out the sites and amenities we have to offer, and come and visit us when the pandemic is over. Until then stay safe and stay healthy.”
