Customers continue to embrace the program as part of their wellbeing journeys, and they especially appreciate how the people in the IsaBody community help each other thrive. – Travis Ogden, Isagenix CEO

Isagenix International, a global wellbeing company providing effective products and a supportive community, announced today five new U.S. finalists competing in its annual total-body transformation program, the IsaBody Challenge®. The second Judging Period’s finalists are Charles Payne of Cumming, Georgia; Holly Franz of Bedford, New Hampshire; Jerry Gray of Stanwood, Michigan; Kara Beverly of Bethel, Connecticut; and Morgan Bishop of Hopkins, South Carolina.

Finalists will receive $3,000 each as well as event tickets and paid expenses for themselves and a guest to New Year Kick Off 2021. Each finalist will be introduced at the event, where the IsaBody® Grand Prize Winner and Runner-Up will be announced. The IsaBody Challenge and New Year Kick Off are both hosted by Isagenix.

The second round of five finalists was selected out of thousands of people across the United States who completed the IsaBody Challenge during the second Judging Period. Isagenix will announce its third and final round later this year. A total of 15 finalists will compete for a chance to win the grand prize of $25,000 or the runner-up prize of $10,000.

“We’re proud of the IsaBody Challenge and what it means to thousands of participants across the nation,” said Isagenix Chief Executive Officer Travis Ogden. “Customers continue to embrace the program as part of their wellbeing journeys, and they especially appreciate how the people in the IsaBody community help each other thrive. Our latest finalists are no exception, as they’ve shown incredible dedication to reaching their goals and encouraging others along the way.”

Meet the Finalists

Charles Payne, Georgia

Age: 44

Total Challenges completed: 4

Total weight loss over completed Challenges: 26 pounds*

Charles took this Challenge as a time to focus on gaining strength in his left knee, following reconstructive surgery in July 2019. He has taken his overall lsaBody journey one month at a time, using the IsaBody community to watch others, gain from their emotional and mental strength, and grow personally. He is forever grateful that his wife introduced him to Isagenix products, which he loves because of the results he’s experienced. Lately, he has enjoyed the AMPED™ line, which supports his workout goals.

Holly Franz, New Hampshire

Age: 26

Total Challenges completed: 6

Total weight loss over completed Challenges: 23 pounds*

When she started her IsaBody journey in 2017, little did Holly know this would finally be “the” journey she needed to improve her overall wellbeing. She has lost weight, gained lean muscle, and created smarter eating habits. Just as important, Holly has listened to her body and lives in balance without guilt. She now feels more confident than she has since being confined to a wheelchair 12 years ago due to Friedreich’s ataxia, a rare neuromuscular disorder. Holly is thankful for the IsaBody lifestyle and community and appreciates the memories she’s created during her six Challenges.

Jerry Gray, Michigan

Age: 79

Total Challenges completed: 1

Total weight loss over completed Challenges: 10 pounds*

When Jerry met his wife, Liberty, they made a pact to work on their health together so they could enjoy a long, healthy life as a couple. They worked hard at their goal for 20 years, but then work and caring for her elderly parents left Liberty exhausted. A friend introduced her to Isagenix products, and she started consuming them. When she began feeling better, Jerry tried them too. He now enjoys a sense of vibrancy he says comes with consistent use of the products. In fact, Jerry is a Kettlebell Sport competitor who uses AMPED products to help train at a high level and recover well.

Kara Beverly, Connecticut

Age: 37

Total Challenges completed: 11

Total weight loss over completed Challenges: 30 pounds*

Kara started 2020 with the IsaBody Challenge and found the excitement of a new year of possibilities and new habits to be inspiring. She remains focused on health, strength, and movement, even with the recent challenges of having her three children at home all the time, assisting with their schooling, and not having access to the gym. She says Isagenix and the IsaBody Challenge have been the backbone to her healthy lifestyle, helping her continue shifting her body composition to more lean mass and less body fat while modeling good health for her children.

Morgan Bishop, South Carolina

Age: 38

Total Challenges completed: 17

Total weight loss over completed Challenges: 89 pounds*

When Morgan sees her before photo next to her progress photo, she is at a loss for words. Looking at the girl in the before photo, she can hardly remember what life was like in that body. But she is so thankful for that girl because everything she experienced made her who she is today. She is incredibly grateful for her physical and mental health and the body that she lives in now, as she’s lost over 100 pounds since starting her Isagenix journey. Morgan is committed to continuing to transform her mind, body, and soul, and her goals include building lean muscle.

*Weight loss, muscle gain, lifestyle, and other results depicted here reflect exceptional individual experiences of Isagenix customers and should not be construed as typical or average. Results vary with individual effort, body composition, eating patterns, time, exercise, and other factors, such as genetic and physiological makeup. A two-phase 2016 study published by researchers at Skidmore College showed an average weight loss of 24 pounds after 12 weeks. The study evaluated the use of Isagenix products in men and women for weight loss followed by weight maintenance. During the weight maintenance phase, the subjects who continued the calorie-controlled program using Isagenix products better maintained their weight loss in comparison to those who transitioned to a traditional diet after 52 weeks.

Pendry Residences Natirar to Offer Delos’ Home Wellness Intelligence Technology

Pendry Residences Natirar

We are truly offering residents the most optimal connection to outdoor living and wellness management with modern design spaces and residential amenities that inspire the ultimate indoor-outdoor experience.

Pendry Residences Natirar, a new luxury offering by Montage, today announced a collaboration with Delos™, the world’s leading wellness and real estate technology company, to integrate Delos’ leading home wellness intelligence network designed exclusively for luxury homes into the luxury residences coming to the rolling hills of Somerset County, New Jersey, an hour outside of New York City. The limited collection of fully serviced private Farm Villa residences will feature DARWIN Premier, Delos’ most exclusive offering that combines products, features, technologies, and services to create and maintain indoor environmental conditions that are designed to enhance health, well-being, and performance. The inclusion of the DARWIN system will apply best practices in design and construction with evidence-based health and wellness interventions, becoming the first residential community in the Northeastern United States to incorporate it as a base package.

The strategic collaboration between Pendry Residences Natirar and Delos delivers an innovative and unique comprehensive health and wellness living lifestyle into the residential experience. The DARWIN Premier technology optimizes well-being by:

  • Monitoring air quality and temperature, mitigating environmental concerns within the home environment by reducing indoor contaminants that negatively affect respiratory, cardiovascular, immune and cognitive health.
  • Ensuring cleaner, better tasting water through the DARWIN Water Filtration System.
  • Providing circadian lighting that mimics the patterns of the sun to restore residents’ natural circadian rhythms.
  • Creating spaces that help reduce stress, regulate energy levels, promote mindful living and improve sleep quality.

“By working with Delos to integrate DARWIN Premier, Pendry Residences Natirar are furthering our commitment to exceptional residential experiences, especially within the wellness space,” says Tina Necrason, executive vice president, residential, Montage International. “We are truly offering residents the most optimal connection to outdoor living and wellness management with modern design spaces and residential amenities that inspire the ultimate indoor-outdoor experience. In the current climate, it’s never been more important to create a home that benefits owners mental health and well-being and we foresee this being a necessity for buyers more now than ever.”

“From years of experience and extensive research, we know that our indoor environments can impact physical, emotional and cognitive health outcomes,” said Delos Founder and CEO Paul Scialla. “Through the integration of DARWIN Premier, Pendry Residences Natirar have demonstrated a commitment to the health, well-being and safety of their residents.”

Situated on 90 acres of pastoral grounds and featuring a sustainable 12-acre farm, Pendry Natirar, opening in early 2022, will redesign and reinvigorate the historic Tudor-style Natirar mansion estate to create a modern-day manor that will feature 66 guestrooms and suites, along with a limited collection of 24-fully serviced private Estate and Farm Villa residences ranging in size from 2,900 square feet to more than 3,600 square feet.

Thoughtfully designed into the landscape, the private residences celebrate contemporary style in a sophisticated atmosphere with intentionally curated materials and details that frame the seasonal beauty surrounding the property. Set within a private enclave named Abby Road, The Estate Villa Residences will offer a semi-custom home building experience with abundant living spaces, expansive views, and options to personalize selections and home configurations. The Farm Villa Residences encompass a true, private Agrihood—including a working farm as the backdrop – providing owners with the ability to immerse themselves in a community focused on sustainable living, wellness and connection to nature; all accompanied by the personalized services and amenities of Pendry Natirar.

Homeowners will have access to a full-service Spa Pendry including an extensive health and wellness programming, fitness center, swimming pool and tennis courts, and a variety of classic and unique outdoor activities to be discovered throughout the property.

“Pendry Natirar will be set among scenic trails and pathways groomed for hiking, biking and horseback riding surrounded by 400 acres of protected land along the north branch of the Raritan River,” says Robert Wojtowicz, founder, Natirar. “By blending this unparalleled setting with the Delos technology and all that Pendry Natirar has to offer – we are truly affording the ultimate amenities and experience in luxury and wellness real estate.”

The highly-anticipated Pendry Residences Natirar construction commenced in May 2020 with expected completion of the first phase of residences by the end of this year. Now pre-selling select Residences from the low $2 millions.

Montage International has plans to expand its partnership with Delos; announcement and more details to follow.

How to Be Kind to Yourself While Caring for the Ones You Love

The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted our lives in unique ways—throwing millions of individuals into a new role as family caregiver and challenging seasoned caregivers to take on additional responsibilities in order to keep themselves and their loved ones safe. Whether they’re lending a hand to an aging spouse, parent, relative or friend, more than one in five Americans now serve as unpaid family caregivers, according to the latest research from AARP.

For every family caregiver—veteran or newcomer—it’s often difficult to balance personal obligations such as work and caring for children, in addition to daily caregiving responsibilities. The challenges of tending to a loved one can place significant stress on the person overseeing care. Gradually, this stress can build up and lead to caregiver distress—a situation where an individual may become more susceptible to other health risks such as high blood pressure, diabetes and increased risk of stroke.

“It’s very common to see caregivers placing the needs of their loved ones before their own,” said Lakelyn Hogan, gerontologist and caregiver advocate at Home Instead Senior Care. “But we just can’t pour from an empty cup. By taking time to tend to your own needs and acknowledge the challenges you may be facing, we can create a caregiving environment that is healthy and rewarding for every person involved.”

While caring for an older adult can be a meaningful and fulfilling experience, the daily duties of caregiving can still prompt isolation and self-neglect. To keep your personal well-being top of mind, Hogan recommends the following strategies and tips:

  • Schedule “me time.” Even just a few mindful moments each day can help reduce feelings of stress or resentment. A quick walk around the block, a 30-minute music break or a three-minute deep breathing exercise on a meditation app can make all the difference. If you’re struggling to find time for just yourself, try asking other family members and friends to momentarily step in. Or, consider seeking out a professional caregiver for intermittent help.
  • Create a gratitude jar. It can be easy to lose sight of why you took on this role in the first place. Try to remain optimistic by using note cards to record what you are thankful for. Place them by your desk or bedside table – and at the end of the year or season, reflect on the small moments that made you smile. This simple exercise can even retrain your brain for positive thinking. If you need help getting started, try filling in the blank: The best part of being a caregiver is __________.
  • (Actually) unplug. Plan for respite care to take single days off or even enjoy a week-long vacation. When you’re away, stay away. Talk about things other than caregiving, crack open a book you haven’t been able to get to and treat yourself to something special as a reward for everything you’ve accomplished. Whenever possible, avoid long periods of time on social media, which can leave you comparing yourself to others or feeling down in the dumps about your current situation.
  • Explore workplace benefits. Balancing a career and caregiving can come with its own set of challenges. But oftentimes, employees aren’t aware of what their company offers in the way of family-friendly benefits. Especially now during the current work environment, many companies have introduced flexible arrangements, such as more paid time-off or remote working solutions. Take time to familiarize yourself with the benefits your employer may offer, and be sure to use them to your advantage.
  • Join a support group. Social distancing can create feelings of isolation for caregivers, but it doesn’t have to be that way. Dedicate time each week to connecting with other caregivers and lifting one another up. Lean on your own support group, whether your “team” is friends, family or even an online community like Home Instead’s Caregiver Stress Facebook page.

Practicing self-care is not selfish. We are all living in uncertain times and adjusting to the new normal. By making time for yourself, you can ensure you’re able to provide the best care for your loved one for years to come. And, most importantly, don’t forget that the care you’re providing is making a significant impact on your loved one.

Cambodia’s Capital sees Yoga Flow from Studios to Streets

Residents of Cambodia’s capital have been captivated by sunrise and sunset photo shoots of bright-eyed yoga teachers posing in front of iconic sites, on riverboats and busy streets as part of a volunteer project to promote the ancient practice in one of Asia’s most visually dramatic cities.

“Traffic stops and passersby are startled and intrigued during our photo shoots,” explains yoga teacher Vun Em. “But once we explain what we are doing they respond with the true generosity of Khmer hospitality, asking how they can watch without interrupting and how they can help.”

French photographer Stephane Combre agrees, explaining: “We shoot just after dawn or at dusk because that’s when the light in Phnom Penh has such unique clarity. It’s also the time when people are on the way to work or home. It’s quite amazing to get such encouragement from people in a rush.”

The photography project was launched to benefit New York-based AZAHAR Foundation, which promotes peace-building through yoga and the arts. Its Cambodian staff say it is part of their mission to expand yoga beyond their studios. They also offer up to nine Vinyasa flow classes per day via Zoom in both English and Khmer.

They plan to select photos from the project for a calendar that will be released later this year and sell prints. All funds raised by the online classes and photo sales are being used to support the foundation’s programs, which include yoga teacher training, peace camps and free meals for hungry families.

Mr. Combre said the project was inspired by New York-based photographer Kevin Richardson’s celebrated “Dance As Art” series of photographs.

Mr. Richardson praised the Cambodian initiative. “The brilliant juxtaposition of yoga in the streets of Phnom Penh creates a striking contrast that delights the eye and fills you with a true sense of joy and wonder,” he explained.

Ms. Vun, also a manager of the foundation in Cambodia, believes that yoga’s focus on wellness and inner peace is invaluable to people facing threats to their health or security due to the COVID-19 pandemic and its consequences. “We are living in a time of incredible anxiety. Yoga is a positive way of dealing with this … it promotes health and puts people into a flexible space for dealing with unexpected events and stress.”

Previously, she led advocacy for The Messenger Band, a group of former garment workers who fused social justice lyrics with Cambodian folk music. “I haven’t stopped being an activist,” said Ms. Vun who teaches yoga to members of the United Sisterhood Alliance in Phnom Penh. “Yoga gives us greater focus and purpose, more inner strength,” she explained.

Mr. Combre summed up his goals: “We want people to see Phnom Penh through a fresh lens and to show yoga being practiced in places where it is least expected.”

Ms. Vun said: “Now is as good a time as ever to move yoga to the streets.”

Veteran Organization to Host Annual 9/11 Heroes Run Virtually to Honor Those Lost on September 11th

Typically held in 90+ locations around the world, this year’s 9/11 Heroes Run 5K Race Series will have a bigger focus on the opportunity for runners to participate virtually.

The sense of unity displayed in the days following 9/11 and during our current crisis exemplifies the strength of our national character and inspires us to honor the legacies of those lost, as well as those who still lead the charge.

The 9/11 Heroes Run 5K Race Series is dedicated to uniting communities to remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost on 9/11, as well as to honor our veterans, military, and first responders who dedicate their lives to serving others.

To ensure the safety and well-being of all participants, volunteers, Spartans, and the members of the community are the top priority, TMF has been working closely with local and state officials to still host physical races with designated safety protocol in place. In communities where this will not be possible, TMF is encouraging participants to sign up as a virtual runner. The virtual runner option allows participants to choose their own date, time, and location where they can run, walk, or ruck the 5K at their own pace.

The 9/11 Heroes Run 5K series was inspired by Marine 1st Lt. Travis Manion, who was killed by an enemy sniper in Iraq in April 2007 as he selflessly pulled his wounded teammates to safety. Before his final deployment, Travis visited Rescue One in NYC—famous for losing almost all of their men on 9/11—and returned home with a deeper passion about why he was fighting in Iraq. At its heart, the 9/11 Heroes Run is a tribute to a personal commitment to never forget the heroes of that day. The 9/11 Heroes Run will also acknowledgment to the hard work of all of our nation’s frontline healthcare workers, who especially this year, have continued to serve selflessly and valiantly during a time of uncertainty against an invisible enemy.

For the 2020 race series, Travis Manion Foundation has again partnered with GORUCK for a ruck division of 9/11 Heroes Run. Rucking is moving with weight on your back and is the foundation of Special Forces training. It combines strength and cardio, is adaptable to anyone’s goals based on the amount of weight carried, and is a popular, empowering activity for those who hate to run or find it boring. As part of the marketing campaign for 9/11 Heroes Run series, TMF has released a video to inspire runners and walkers of all ages to participate, which can be seen here.

“While in most communities we may not be able to stand side by side this September, now more than ever I challenge all Americans to join our Spartans as we honor those who stepped up when our country needed them the most following the events of 9/11. We’ll also run to honor our frontline workers, who exemplify that same bravery everyday as they risk their lives battling an invisible enemy,” said TMF President Ryan Manion. “The sense of unity displayed in the days following 9/11 and during our current crisis exemplifies the strength of our national character, and inspires us to honor the legacies of those lost, as well as those who still lead the charge.”

Travis Manion Foundation’s 9/11 Heroes Run is proud to have Comcast NBCUniversal as a national sponsor. For more information about the race series or to register, visit http://www.911heroesrun.org

About Travis Manion Foundation:

Travis Manion Foundation (TMF) unites communities to strengthen America’s national character by empowering veterans and families of fallen heroes to develop and lead future generations. In 2007, 1st Lt. Travis Manion (USMC) was killed in Iraq while saving his wounded teammates. Today, Travis’ legacy lives on in the words he spoke before leaving for his final deployment, “If Not Me, Then Who…” Guided by this mantra, veterans continue their service, develop strong relationships with their communities, and thrive in their post-military lives by serving as character role models to youth. As a result, communities prosper and the character of our nation’s heroes lives on in the next generation.

The story of 1st Lt. Travis Manion and his Naval Academy brother Lt. (SEAL) Brendan Looney have been publicized in the book Brothers Forever, and additional information about the Foundation can be found at http://www.travismanion.org.

Kensington Recommends the Top 10 Products for Virtual Learning This Fall

News Image

“Our recommended products include ergonomic solutions that improve posture and proper hand positioning while sitting at computers or laptops, and productivity solutions to maximize device connectivity,” Lisa Schuiteboer, a certified ergonomic expert and ergonomic category manager at Kensington

Kensington®, the worldwide leader of desktop computing and mobility solutions for IT, business, and home office professionals and The Professionals’ Choice, announced a recommended Top 10 List of the Best Virtual Learning products that can aid K-12, college and even professionals as they learn and work from home this fall. A survey published earlier this month by The Harris Poll, reported that two-thirds of parents in the U.S. say their kids will learn from home this fall as the COVID-19 pandemic continues.

Not all households have desks and chairs that are suitable for working on a laptop, which means that students are likely sitting at the kitchen table or counter in a chair that is not ideally suited to them. In areas where virtual learning has become the required mode of education this school year, establishing and properly designing a designated workspace in the home is critical to improving productivity, wellness and comfort for students. The use of ergonomic accessories like seat rests, back rests and laptop/monitor stands, enables users to easy adapt existing workspaces to provide a more comfortable and healthier workstation with a relatively small investment.

Kensington recommends the following ten products which can be used to reduce eye strain, improve posture, mitigate neck, hand, arm and back issues, reduce fatigue and optimize the use of computers and/or laptops.

1. Ergonomic Keyboard

2. Mouse and/or Trackball

3. Wrist Rests for Mouse and Keyboard

4. Back Rest

5. Seat Cushion

6. Foot Rest

7. Laptop Riser or Monitor Stand

8. Headphones

9. USB Hub

10. Rugged Case

“Our recommended products include ergonomic solutions that improve posture and proper hand positioning while sitting at computers or laptops, productivity solutions to maximize device connectivity, and even rugged cases to keep tablets protected from occasional falls,” said Lisa Schuiteboer, a certified ergonomic expert and ergonomic category manager at Kensington. “When used correctly, many of these recommended products can help reduce injury such as carpal tunnel, neck strain and other body aches.”

In addition to using products that help improve wellness, there are activities that students can do to help reduce fatigue. Looking away from their screens for 20 seconds every 20 minutes can significantly reduce eye strain, and stretching their hands, wrists and legs at regular intervals can reduce strain and extend productivity over long periods at the computer. The Kensington Stretch Guide provides some great recommendations for easy, quick exercises to do throughout the day.

Kensington recently hosted a webinar on utilizing the proper ergonomic principles to increase comfortability and productivity while learning from home. The webinar, titled “Ergo 101 – How Ergonomics Can Help Students with eLearning,” can be viewed here.

All ten recommended virtual learning products are immediately available and can be found on the Kensington website or at online retailers such as Amazon.
