CS Energy Completes Largest Solar Project in Burlington County, New Jersey

CS Energy (formerly Conti Solar) a leading integrated energy company that develops, designs and builds optimized projects in the solar, storage and emerging energy industries, announced the completion of the Cinnaminson Township capped-landfill solar project for Public Service Electric and Gas (PSE&G) New Jersey’s largest electric and gas utility. The 13 megawatt-dc (MW-DC)Cinnaminson Township site is the largest solar development project undertaken to date in Burlington County.

Built over a Superfund site, the 25-acre project is part of PSE&G’s Solar 4 All program, which is concentrating on turning landfills and brownfields green by building solar farms on otherwise unusable sites. The program aims to develop 158 MW-DC of universal solar capacity, enough energy to power more than 25,000 New Jersey homes, and as with every Solar 4 All project, the Cinnaminson project will provide clean, renewable energy to all PSE&G customers, including those without existing solar systems.

The landfill solar sector is one of the most difficult categories of project sites, and CS Energy has performed development, engineering, procurement and construction services on more than 154 MW of landfill projects to date. Although development of the project over the capped-and-closed Cinnaminson landfill included complex permitting, interconnection, and switchgear coordination, CS Energy was able to deliver the site to the utility on schedule.

“By converting unproductive land into a solar power generation plant that provides clean energy to the grid, PSE&G is helping to create a healthier environment and also making solar power available to all of its electric customers. ” said Matthew Skidmore, CEO of CS Energy. “Solar 4 All is an innovative program, and we are proud play a key role in its ongoing success.”

One of the primary goals of our Solar 4 All program is to help develop and maintain a strong solar industry that creates jobs and generates economic development in New Jersey,” said Todd Hranicka, PSE&G’s director of solar energy. “So we are proud of our longstanding relationship with CS Energy and pleased that we were able complete another successful project with them.”

New Voice Activated Call To Action (VACTA) Technology from Respond Fast Makes Responding to Smart Speakers and Voice Assistants a Reality for Advertisers

https://www.prweb.com/

Respond Fast

Voice-activated technology is enhancing customer engagement and revolutionizing the entire call-to-action arena.

Calls to action (CTAs) come in many forms. Now, they can come through smart speakers in a way that makes it easy for consumers to respond in real-time, and gives marketers total tracking attribution.

CTAs can resonate for a long time. President Ronald Reagan’s call to action in 1987, “Mr. Gorbachev: Tear Down This Wall” is an iconic example. And who will forget Nike’s “Just do it” CTA established a year later in 1988?

Voice-activated technology that enhances customer engagement is revolutionizing the entire call-to-action arena. The newest service is Respond Fast, a next-generation voice technology using smart speakers for offline offers, information sites, surveys, reviews, and other interactive platforms. It also helps track campaign attribution.

Respond Fast’s proprietary Voice Activated Call To Action (VACTA) technology provides a compelling way to drive customer response and track down where campaign responses come from. Founded by direct marketing veteran Mike Gunderson, Respond Fast is both a noteworthy stand-alone call-to-action system and a compelling complement to offline marketing.

Respond Fast uses a unique phrase or code printed or announced on offline advertising media, such as a direct mail piece, print ad, collateral piece, TV/radio spot, billboard, signage and product label/packaging. Responders simply say, “[Alexa/Google], Launch Respond Fast,” then are prompted to provide their phrase or code tied to a campaign or prospect outreach. Relevant marketing messaging and calls to action follow.

A multichannel campaign featuring TV, radio, direct mail, and print ads can effectively incorporate a unique VACTA code into each of its avenues. Depending on the nature of the interaction, the smart speaker can fulfill the request, or gather information needed to follow up via phone, shipping, or digital communication (e.g., text, email, website).

Frictionless Response

Part of VACTA’s appeal is its “frictionless nature,” says Gunderson. “People already are finding that calling out to their smart speaker is easier than searching on their phone. Rather than look up when a movie was made, they call out to Alexa or Google for the answer. When looking for a word definition or synonym, people can call it out instead of looking it up. It’s easier, it’s cool, and it’s taking off as smart speaker sales skyrocket.”

He adds that such call to action tools as QR codes, once considered innovative and interesting, are very limited in what they can offer in terms of channel usage and the ability to offer a uniquely personalized experience. “VACTA is the coming wave,” Gunderson points out.

Pair VACTA with Tried-and-true Tactics

Armed with a cool, trendy new technology, find the words that will bring it home. Decades ago, Burger King discovered that their iconic CTA “Have it your way” empowered customers to customize their buying experience. Following are other ways to make CTAs resonate:

  • Make it memorable. Both the words themselves and techniques that help recall are worth considering.
  • Make it evocative. Tug on heartstrings. Exploit enthusiasm. “Yes, We Can! Vote Obama” and “Make America Great Again” are both powerful slogans and calls to action.
  • Make it exclusive. CTAs that sound exclusive can drive considerable response. “Be among the first 100 people to order” can be compelling when tied to some types of special bonus offers.
  • Make it meaningful. “Save the animals,” “Save the oceans,” and “Save the planet” are three generic examples of meaningful CTAs.
  • Make it urgent. “Buy now to get this limited-time offer” is designed to impel immediate, impulse buying. In another vein, “If you see something say something” can drive people to report abuse, neglect or suspicious behavior immediately.
  • Make it pay. Personal injury attorneys have honed this CTA into a fine art. “You’ve been wronged or victimized. Now, get payback (literally and figuratively)” is their overarching approach. On a more basic level, “Save 25% while they last” is an enduring and effective CTA.
  • Make it free. Offer something, anything that’s free in an effort to spur a purchase. A free catalog or informational PDF are time-tested examples.
  • Make it yours. Marketers willing to go the extra mile can tee up their VACTA and other CTAs to be a “unique offer code.” These are codes unique to an individual or business and tied to a specific campaign.

Quickly Set Up Campaigns and Review Results

Setting up a Respond Fast VACTA program is fast and easy. Through one convenient dashboard, users can create the offer, decide how to deliver it, launch the campaign, analyze results, and refine/improve subsequent efforts.

Visit RespondFast.com for more information, or just tell your smart speaker to “Launch Respond Fast” and use keyword “Trial.”

About Respond Fast

Respond Fast is part of Respond Now LLC, founded in 2018 to create the first Voice Activated Call-To-Action (VACTA) technology that uses smart speakers to respond to offline media campaigns deploying direct mail, TV/radio spots, print ads, collateral, TV/radio spots, billboards, signage and product label/packaging. Consumers simply ask their smart speakers to redeem an offer, download an app, respond to a survey, or speak with a salesperson. The company was founded by direct response marketing veteran Mike Gunderson.

Striker VR Announces Strategic Partnership with TacHammer Technology in Location-Based Entertainment Blasters

News Image

Today, Striker VR, the immersive VR hardware company, announces a new partnership for TacHammer haptic technology. The first product to be released under this partnership is the Arena Infinity LITE® peripheral, designed to deliver the strongest and most realistic tactile experiences for VR and Location Based Entertainment (LBE).

TacHammer is a new type of LMR haptic technology that uses magnetic suspension instead of springs to produce impact haptics in addition to traditional effects like vibrations and clicks. Strong impact haptics are a key feature for Striker VR, providing industry-leading G-forces and strong gunshot-like blasts. TacHammer technology also simulates more subtle effects, like the rumble of a distant explosion or accelerated heartbeat of a player.

Striker VR worked with Nanoport Technology to develop the custom unit suited for high g-force, LBE applications. It is the largest production TacHammer to date, uniquely sized and fitted for Striker VR products. “We worked with Striker VR to develop this new TacHammer and it was quite a challenge given the tight requirements and large g-forces. Testing was particularly hairy; the intense forces destroyed the fixtures and restraints that we initially used” explains Kyle Skippon, development engineer for TacHammer.

The first product to debut from the collaboration will be the next generation of Striker VR’s Arena Infinity LITE® blaster. It will feature the widest range of haptic effects and timings in VR and LBE peripherals, and offer impact-based haptics for mainstream audiences that can reach up to 50 Gs of acceleration. The new Arena Infinity LITE blaster maintains the same signature form factor as the original model but is now 20% lighter, making it easier to wield.

“Haptics quality is our highest priority. It is how we create the highest level of immersion for AAA content and VR experiences,” says Martin Holly, co-founder and vice president, Striker VR. “This partnership represents our commitment to delivering the best products in the LBE industry.”

Arena Infinity LITE® blasters have started shipping with full production capabilities in Q1 2020.

Second State launches BUIDL IDE for Ethereum Classic

Decentralized applications (dapps) are collaborative and censorship-resistant applications built on blockchain smart contracts. Examples of popular dapps include cryptocurrencies, payments, crypto exchanges, prediction markets, peer to peer e-commerce, and decentralized finance (DeFi).

Ethereum is the world’s first and dominant smart contract platform. It has the largest dapp ecosystem with over a million deployed smart contracts and hundreds of millions of dollars in monthly transactions. However, compared with web and mobile app development, it is still very difficult for developers to get started with dapp development. Developers and users must be familiar with cryptocurrency, crypto wallet, blockchain nodes, RPC services, web3, a variety of tools, specialized programming languages, frameworks, and services. That has greatly hampered dapp adoption.

Furthermore, in the past several weeks, the Ethereum blockchain is operating near its capacity. The gas price required for developers and users to operate smart contracts is now 10x its value earlier this year, and it takes hours for a smart contract transaction to get confirmed on the network.

ETHEREUM CLASSIC

Ethereum Classic (ETC) is one of the most secure and decentralized blockchain networks today. It is fully compatible with the Ethereum blockchain (ETH), but is much faster (transactions are confirmed in seconds) and much cheaper (gas fee is 1% of ETH). Developers are looking at Ethereum Classic as a serious alternative to the Ethereum blockchain.

“Ethereum Classic is not only the original Ethereum blockchain,” said Elizabeth Kukka, Executive Director of Ethereum Classic Labs. “But also the most dapp friendly Ethereum blockchain with its very low gas fees, store-of-value native cryptocurrency, and fast confirmation times. We look forward to collaboration with Second State to further empower our developer communities.”

However, developer tooling on Ethereum Classic has been traditionally lacking, and as a result, far fewer smart contracts and dapps are deployed on Ethereum Classic. Second State aims to change that.

BUIDL IDE

The Second State BUIDL IDE (Integrated Development Environment) is a web-based IDE that requires no software download or install. It provides a one-stop development and deployment environment for smart contract and dapp developers. With one click, developers can publish a dapp on the web for everyone to interact with blockchain smart contracts. Watch the short video tutorial to see how to create a wallet-free, cryptocurrency-free and wait-free dapp on BUIDL. https://www.secondstate.io/buidl/why

Bob Summerwill, Executive Director of the ETC Cooperative, said “I am delighted to see Second State launch BUIDL for ETC. There has been a developer need for such a tool since the death of the much beloved Ethereum Studio many years ago. It is marvelous to see Second State launching BUIDL for ETC to fill this need, and to help provide an easier onramp for developers to develop on ETC.”

Working with ETC Labs and ETC Cooperative, Second State has released a special version of its BUIDL IDE for the Ethereum Classic blockchain. Developers can now develop and deploy in the Ethereum Classic blockchain in minutes from any web browser with no software to download or install.

1 Open the BUIDL for ETC IDE via the following link: https://buidl.secondstate.io/etc

2 Open the Accounts tab and send a little ETC (0.1 ETC) to the default address to use as gas for deployment on the Ethereum Classic blockchain. If you do not know how to get ETC, send an e-mail to etc@secondstate.io to ask for some.

3 Develop, debug, deploy, and publish your dapp! Learn more: https://www.secondstate.io/etc

About Second State

Second State focuses on building and commercializing open-source blockchain infrastructure software. It develops a full stack of developer tools and runtime technologies for smart contract platforms, including the BUIDL IDE. Second State is based in Austin, Texas, and has development offices in Taipei, Beijing, and Australia. It has recently closed a $3M funding round led by Susquehanna International Group. It is also a member of the ETC Labs incubator program.

SSIMWAVE’s AI ‘eyes’ bring field monitoring to the network edge

https://www.prweb.com/

SSIMPLUS Single-Ended HDMI-Out monitoring can work at any server, hub, node and even in test homes

“Operators can use existing resources to test and measure their networks, but until now they haven’t had the ability to measure scientifically the quality that subscribers are seeing,” said Dr. Abdul Rehman, CEO and co-founder of SSIMWAVE.

SSIMWAVE’s HDMI-out monitoring for Tier 2 and 3 operators to debut at Cable-Tec Expo 2019

SSIMWAVE®, the leader in viewer-centric video quality evaluation, today announced the availability for cable system operators of SSIMPLUS® Single-Ended HDMI-Out monitoring, enabling for the first time precise, objective evaluation and scoring of video quality at the closest point yet to subscribers’ devices.

Designed in response to requests from Tier 2 and 3 North American operators, the new product place-shifts end point analysis to the farthest reaches of the network, simplifying field monitoring by providing objective measurement of the video quality subscribers see. The new product utilizes probes armed with the SSIMPLUS single-ended AI algorithm to measure quality at the HDMI outputs of legacy and IPTV set-top boxes located in hubs, nodes or even test homes of cable, fiber and 4G/5G wireless networks.

SSIMPLUS’ Emmy Award-winning technology mimics the human visual system, evaluating video quality on a pixel-by-pixel basis and scoring each measured piece of content on a 0-100 basis. SSIMWAVE is demonstrating Single-Ended HDMI-Out monitoring at its booth (#2625) at SCTE•ISBE Cable-Tec Expo 2019 Oct. 1-3 in New Orleans.

“Operators can use existing resources to test and measure their networks, but until now they haven’t had the ability to measure scientifically the quality that subscribers are seeing,” said Dr. Abdul Rehman, CEO and co-founder of SSIMWAVE. “By leveraging the AI capabilities of SSIMPLUS at the very last point in the delivery chain, operators can gain valuable new functionality: real-time, automated visibility into actual video quality that can inform business and operational decisions and can impact customer satisfaction and ROI.”

Able to evaluate both live and VOD content, SSIMWAVE Single-Ended HDMI-Out monitoring can support a variety of use cases for driving quality or increasing cost-effectiveness for cable operators, including:

  • Ongoing testing of different hubs and nodes, as well as anticipation and localization of problem areas, to preemptively resolve issues ahead of customer complaints;
  • Replace remote “eyes on glass” with automated monitoring and customer configured alerts to expedite quality assurance;
  • Confirmation of video quality per program, per channel or scheduling to assure content owners that Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are being honored;
  • See the effect that changes in configurations have on the video quality levels at the edge, the closest point to the viewer;
  • Benchmarking of existing video workflows and services for reference when implementing new equipment or delivery networks;

In addition to SSIMPLUS Single-Ended HDMI-Out monitoring, SSIMWAVE also will be demonstrating at Cable-Tec Expo its SSIMPLUS VOD Monitor Inspector that helps content owners and distributors know exactly what viewers will experience on any screen, as well as its SSIMPLUS VOD Monitor Production tool that uses the SSIMPLUS algorithm to optimize quality for high volumes of video assets across complex delivery chains.
