ES Components Announces DLA MIL-PRF-38535 Certification

ES Components (Eastern States Components, LLC), a niche distributor and manufacturer of microelectronic components for Military/Aerospace and High Reliability markets, today announced full certification by Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime (“DLA”) for MIL-PRF-38535 Class Q specification, QML-38535 listing and laboratory suitability compliance to MIL-STD-883 test standards for producing monolithic integrated circuits.

Prior to receiving this certification, ES Components was limited to only distributing the military MIL-PRF-38535 compliant (/883, 5962- or 38510- in part numbers) and commercial Analog Switches/Multiplexers produced by Vishay Siliconix. Following ES Components’ acquisition of these devices from Vishay (https://www.escomponents.com/siliconix-military3) and certification by DLA, ES Components is now authorized to build and support new compliant products that will be marked with the “ESC” brand. This entails using the Vishay Siliconix Analog Switch and Multiplexer die, wafers, documentation and manufacturing equipment purchased in the acquisition. ES Components manages assembly and test of these devices through facilities with approved DLA lab suitability such as VPT Components “VPT”, a division of SST Components, Inc. (“SST”) in Billerica, MA and Microchip Technology (Thailand) Co., Ltd. (“MMT”). With this certification, ES Components can now provide MIL-PRF-38535 compliant products in addition to MIL-PRF-19500 JAN/TX/TXV products, previously announced.

“We are very pleased to have reached this significant milestone in becoming 38535 certified with DLA and producing ESC brand of compliant products in continued support of our military customers’ demand for Siliconix Analog switches and multiplexers. We had already established continued production of 19500 Siliconix JFETs and MOSFETs with DLA, and this certification completes the transition of all the Vishay Siliconix military and commercial hermetic products to ES Components,” said Don Larson, Product Manager at ES Components.

“We are fortunate to have partnered with excellent subcontractors that are DLA approved and we look forward to expanding our business with them. ES Components has been a well-known distributor for many years and we need to let our customers know that we are also a manufacturer with excellent capabilities to provide ongoing JAN and /883 products, as well DMSMS/obsolescence turnkey solutions” (https://www.escomponents.com/hardtofind-dmsms-products2) said Michelle Aubrey President of ES Components.

World Wide Stereo Celebrates 40th Anniversary

we’ve done well by doing good.

World Wide Stereo once again proves Newton’s first law (“an object in motion tends to stay in motion”) with another winning year and a 40th anniversary that, considering the fate of so many family-owned small businesses, represents a remarkable run.

To celebrate, the company and its 100+ employees are planning a number of private and public events, sales and special promotions through the end of 2019. Playful throwback nuggets will be sprinkled throughout World Wide Stereo’s website, branding, and social media, including a timeline that takes users back to how the company came to be and how it got to where it is today: “from Ziggy to Gaga and boomboxes to Bluetooth”.

Founder, former-CE Pro President, and recent Consumer Technology Hall of-Fame inductee Bob Cole points to the company’s long-held mantra as the primary reason for the company’s continued success: “we’ve done well by doing good.“ Indeed, after opening the doors in 1979, Bob and his first two employees – wife Karen and long-time partner Ron Rumer – went from 8-track tape players and Atari to million dollar home theaters and whole house smart home integration – while keeping their promise to help kids at every opportunity. To wit: World Wide Stereo equips and installs the latest home entertainment technology in both St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children and Philadelphia’s own Ronald McDonald House.

These days, the company has expanded its reach via a national e-commerce site, which continues to grow at an exponential rate, and a 13,500 square foot distribution center in Hatfield, PA. World Wide Stereo customers can shop the store through the company’s website (http://www.worldwidestereo.com) and/or catch up on the latest in home entertainment news and product reviews on its YouTube channel, and best-in-class Gear Guides.

The flagship store (or “Bob and Ron’s” as the locals like to call it) on Route 309 in Montgomeryville remains a long-standing Philadelphia-area institution, and the recently remodeled store in Ardmore, PA serves the city’s well-to-do Main Line neighborhoods. The stores were awarded the coveted “2019 Best of Philly” recognition in Philadelphia Magazine’s 46th annual “Best of Philly” awards (http://www.phillymag.com), recognizing a curated list of distinguished businesses, people, and events in varied categories, from food and wellness to shopping and entertainment. Within the Shopping and Style category, World Wide Stereo was recognized as the“best”– leading in cutting edge technology citing: “Outdoor flat-screens, lights controlled from your master-bath mirror, and a home theater that will make Spike Lee jealous”. A fabulous way to kick off a 40th birthday celebration!

About World Wide Stereo: Now celebrating its 40th anniversary, World Wide Stereo is one of the nation’s leaders in audio and video consumer electronics and offers an award-winning residential technology integration firm, two premium showrooms in the Philadelphia area, and an online e-commerce experience at http://www.worldwidestereo.com with 60-day returns and free shipping on all orders.

Since 1979, World Wide Stereo has been on the frontline for practical and innovative consumer electronics. Its stellar reputation for both integrity and quality is achieved with award-winning personal service, installation, and competitive pricing. World Wide Stereo’s goal has always been to provide products that bring families together and give back to the community, working off of the foundation that boasts to “do well by doing good.” A full service custom creative design and installation team bring to life the finest Audio, Video, Home Theater and Smart Home Integration products, turning customers’ home technology visions into their reality.

New DSCC Weekly Database Provides Complete Toolset at China Display Fabs from 2015-2020 and Beyond

Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) has released a first of its kind database which provides the complete toolset and components used in all display fabs in China, from 2015-2020 and beyond. The Advanced Weekly PO and Award Database reveals all the different tools and components for nearly every display fab in China along with the supplier of those tools and components and the number of units being delivered. These awards are typically issued before purchase orders are released, allowing analysts to not only track, but also predict company bookings. In addition, since display equipment can be delivered more than a year after the awards are issued, it allows users to accurately forecast market share out as much as 18-months in advance for more than 150 different equipment categories, ranging from less than $5000 to over $100M per tool/component. With the fabs in this database representing over 75% of 2018-2020 equipment spending, it represents a cost effective and highly accurate way for companies to predict the size of the display market in units and revenues as well as track their competition. It also gives component suppliers a way to track their end-markets and market share of their customers. In addition, it allows panel manufacturers to examine the tool choices of their competitors and gain insight into their competitor’s processes. Furthermore, it allows equipment suppliers to track the growth of segments they are not participating in, providing an immediate way to size the market for every category and shorten the time it takes to assess new markets.

A second database is also provided on all purchase orders filed by Korean equipment suppliers, revealing the size of every PO in KRW and $US along with delivery dates, giving insight into bookings, revenue recognition and tool pricing.

According to DSCC Founder and CEO Ross Young, “We are thrilled to be offering this product to our customers, which reveals perfect information on all display equipment and components going into fabs in China. Users can instantly see how many tools for every tool type are being ordered at each fab. It allows them to quickly size equipment markets, determine market share, track their competition, assess panel makers’ processes and much more. This publicly available data has never been compiled in this way before and allows buy-side and sell-side analysts and investors to make more informed decisions on display-related stocks. In addition, as new fabs are built and more equipment is awarded, those will be captured as well and updated weekly. It also allows DSCC to feed this information into its Quarterly Display Capex and Equipment Report and provide more accurate market sizing and market share data on the whole market for over 70 different equipment segments.”

The complete toolsets and design wins are provided for the following fabs:

  • AUO : Kunshan
  • BOE : B3, B6, B7, B9, B10, B11 and B17
  • CEC : CHOT Xianyang

Yamaha THR-II Series Expands the Desktop Amp Concept with More Sounds and a Rich Wireless Experience

https://www.prweb.com/

THR30II Wireless

Yamaha has introduced the THR-II series, comprising the THR10II, THR10II Wireless, and THR30II Wireless desktop guitar amplifiers. Upon the introduction of the original THR series in 2011, Yamaha established the desktop amp as an entirely new category of guitar amplifier. Neither a performance amp nor strictly a practice amp, THR represented a third amp category offering guitarists features they need when they aren’t on stage or rehearsing, in addition to exceptional sound and responsiveness at any volume.

The THR-II series expands upon this concept by delivering three times as many realistically modeled tube-amp sounds as the original THR10, new wireless features, more power, and a refreshed, stylish design that complements any home décor. The THR30II Wireless also includes stereo ¼” line outputs for additional flexibility.

THR-II amplifiers employ Virtual Circuitry Modeling (VCM) technology to deliver the tone, feel, and expressive nuances characteristic of boutique tube amplifiers. The new amps provide 15 different amp tones, three modeled microphone sounds for acoustic-electric guitars, three bass amp models, and three flat voicings for use with other instruments.

Stompbox-style modulation effects and studio-quality reverbs and delays allow players to further enhance their tones. Stereo reverbs and audio playback utilize Extended Stereo Technology (EST), resulting in a more immersive listening experience than standard stereo. A specially-designed speaker enclosure was optimized by the award-winning Yamaha Audio Visual Division to handle both amplified guitar tones and audio playback with hi-fi sound quality.

All three THR-II desktop amplifiers provide Bluetooth support for audio playback and more. The THR30II Wireless and THR10II Wireless also feature a built-in rechargeable battery and an integrated wireless receiver which, when combined with an optional Line 6® Relay® G10T transmitter, offer players a fully cable-free experience. There’s also a USB port for direct recording and playback, and THR amps come bundled with Steinberg software for desktop and mobile recording. The free Yamaha THR Remote editor/librarian app is compatible with Mac®, PC, and mobile devices.

The new Yamaha THR-II desktop amplifiers provide players of all types with a perfect combination of professional-quality tones, convenient wireless operation, and stylish good looks — whether they are practicing, recording, or playing along with their favorite music.

Pricing and Availability

Yamaha THR-II amplifiers will be available soon from your favorite Yamaha dealer.

  • THR30II Wireless: $790.00 (MSRP)
  • THR10II Wireless: $710.00 (MSRP)

SPS enters into an exclusive and worldwide patent licence agreement for Paragon ID’s copper wire embedded inductive coupling technologies

SPS and Paragon ID

SPS and Paragon ID

Philippe Patrice, SPS President stated: “This agreement comes within the scope of our asserted global strategy of building and protecting our portfolio of technologies in the constantly growing contactless cards market, for the benefit of our clients and for the overall market itself.”

In recent years, the IN GROUPE, with its subsidiary, SPS, and PARAGON ID, through its subsidiary AMATECH, have each developed and patented inductive coupling technologies. These include inlays and antennas used by their respective customers in a variety of final products such as contactless dual interface cards and electronic passports.

Today PARAGON ID, AMATECH and SPS are happy to announce that they have entered into an exclusive, worldwide patent licence agreement related to the copper wire embedded inductive coupling technologies of the PARAGON ID group.

According to this agreement, SPS will have the right to use these technologies patented by AMATECH, and notably the sole right to sublicense and assert the patent rights related to past and future deployed products on the market, particularly products based on wired antennas such as dual interface cards.

The parties believe that the deal will contribute to further spread the use of the patented technologies, and thereby create additional value for the parties and their customers.

Philippe Patrice, SPS President stated: “This agreement comes within the scope of our asserted global strategy of building and protecting our portfolio of technologies in the constantly growing contactless cards market, for the benefit of our clients and for the overall market itself.”

Clem Garvey, CEO at PARAGON ID stated: « We are delighted to further develop our relationship with SPS and the IN GROUPE in signing this important agreement. SPS is recognized internationally as a global leader in inductive coupling solutions and their adoption of our copper-wire booster antenna technology is a testament to the quality and innovation of our intellectual property in this field, for which we thank them. SPS will be deploying this technology in both Payment and e-ID markets, worldwide, faster and more efficiently than we might have done on our own, or with any other potential partner. This agreement will also allow us to concentrate our R&D energies and investments in further developing our world class IP and technologies for dual interface metal card products. »
