SWAGTRON’s NG3 Electric Skateboard Keeps Cruising After Kids Kick Off

best kids electric skateboard

SWAGTRON’s NG3 electric skateboard for kids features “kick to cruise” technology.

Our goal with the NG3 was to create an electric skateboard that offered kids the chance to experience the thrill of riding an e-board, but in a way that was a natural transition from traditional skateboards.

SWAGTRON®, the leader in affordable light electric vehicles, today introduces the all-new Swagskate NG3, a compact electric skateboard built just for kids. The mini e-board features “kick to cruise” technology aka Endless Mode, allowing young riders to experience the thrill of riding a board boosted by an electric motor without the need for a remote. Once the rider kicks off, the motor takes over and smart sensors in the board maintain speed automatically.

The NG3 is capable of speeds up to 9.3 mph, but only maintains whatever speed the rider achieves by kicking (think: cruise control), making it an intuitive way for young riders to progress from riding a traditional skateboard to an electric one. The motor disengages once any deceleration or resistance is detected allowing riders to slow and stop the same as a traditional board. Powered by a 100-watt motor, the NG3 can support riders up to 150 pounds and go up to 6 miles per charge.

“Our goal with the NG3 was to create an electric skateboard that offered kids the chance to experience the thrill of riding an e-board, but in a way that was a natural transition from traditional skateboards,” says CMO Jason Wakefield. “And of course, to make it available at a price that parents would approve of.”

The Swagskate NG3 is compact; at only 19.6 inches long it fits easily in a backpack. And weighing in at only 7.7 pounds, it’s easy to carry, too. The lightweight deck features a futuristic shape and the griptape is emblazoned with the iconic lion logo. An LED taillight doubles as a color-coded systems indicator. A multicolor display shows during standby, while green means charged and ready to ride and red indicates braking. The LED also helps keep riders visible in low-light conditions.

The Swagskate NG3 kids electric skateboard retails for $160 and is available now at Swagtron.com, Amazon and select retailers for an introductory price of only $129.99.

KnowBe4 Launches New Multi-Factor Authentication Security Assessment Tool

This new tool is intended to assist organizations in their overall security program analysis by revealing how MFA can be maliciously hacked in a number of ways. -Roger Grimes, data-driven defense evangelist, KnowBe4

KnowBe4, the provider of the world’s largest security awareness training and simulated phishing platform, today announced a new complimentary tool called the Multi-Factor Authentication Security Assessment (MASA), which provides security professionals with advice on implementing a multi-factor authentication (MFA) strategy as well as practical advice on how to defend against MFA hacks.

According to Deloitte’s Addressing Cyber Threats: Multi-Factor Authentication for Privileged User Accounts report, 48% of cybersecurity breaches are not preventable by strong multi-factor authentication, leaving the MFA open to be hacked.

MASA is a survey-based tool that security professionals use by answering relevant technology questions about how their MFA solution works. MASA then uses those answers to determine that individual’s particular risks. The tool generates a summary report that highlights the specific risks that the particular MFA solution has with best practice information and recommendations on how to better defend the environment.

“Implementing MFA is usually a security improvement over single-factor authentication, however, like any security solution, it’s still hackable,” said Roger Grimes, data-driven defense evangelist, KnowBe4. “This new tool is intended to assist organizations in their overall security program analysis by revealing how MFA can be maliciously hacked in a number of ways. By providing security professionals with this information, we hope to better inform them of the decisions they make when it comes to security.”

This tool was authored by Grimes. He has over 30 years of experience in computer security and has provided risk assessments to some of the world’s largest companies.

Industrial Internet Consortium Smart Factory Machine Learning for Predictive Maintenance Testbed Enters Phase 3 with Commercial Deployment

With predictive maintenance, operators can be alerted before system failure, and in some cases without operator interaction, avoiding costly unplanned downtime and improving energy efficiency.

The Industrial Internet Consortium® (IIC™) today announced that its Smart Factory Machine Learning for Predictive Maintenance Testbed has successfully completed phases 1 and 2 is entering into phase 3 with a commercial deployment. This testbed is deployed at a tier one automotive OEM, was granted two US patents, was featured in a recent book and profiled in two peer-reviewed technical journals.

IIC members Aingura IIoT and Xilinx developed the testbed to evaluate and validate machine learning techniques for predictive maintenance of high-volume production machinery. The testbed has been successfully deployed to production environments at machining and automotive OEM manufacturing facilities. Machine learning techniques enable these facilities with high-volume machinery to move away from regularly scheduled preventative maintenance to predictive maintenance for optimized system operation and asset utilization.

“Today’s methodology of preventative maintenance is not cost efficient and doesn’t address problems that lead to system failure,” said Dan Isaacs, IIC Testbed Lead, and Director of Customer Marketing, Xilinx. “With predictive maintenance, operators can be alerted before system failure, and in some cases without operator interaction, avoiding costly unplanned downtime and improving energy efficiency. With the Zynq UltraScale+ MPSoC at the heart of Aingura IIoT’s system Aingura Insights, both sensor hub, Time Sensitive Networking (TSN) and machine learning functionality are performed efficiently and effectively, all within a single device.”

“This testbed focuses on exploring the application of machine learning techniques and algorithmic approaches using new innovative technology,” said Javier Díaz, IIC Testbed Lead, and CTO at Aingura IIoT. “With proper analysis, the information can provide a wealth of insight into a company’s system operations, overall operating and maintenance costs. Furthermore, companies can pass the savings they achieve during product manufacturing on to their customers.”

The testbed team was granted two US Patents US20180253084A1, US20180253084A1 for “Device and system including multiple devices for supervision and control of machines in industrial installation.” The testbed is mentioned in a book entitled, “Industrial Applications of Machine Learning,” of which Diaz is an author. The testbed results are also published in the Journal of Innovation, “Making Factories Smarter Through Machine Learning,” and IEEE Journal, “Clustering of Data Streams with Dynamic Gaussian Mixture Models: An IoT Application in Industrial Processes,” May 24, 2018.

Addigy Announces Apple Device Management Support for macOS Catalina

Addigy Logo

Addigy, a leading provider of cloud-based Apple Device Management software, today announced general availability (GA) of its enhanced platform with support for macOS 10.15 Catalina. Addigy’s latest generation technology enables full utilization of Catalina’s new features, including support for 64-bit systems and advanced privacy controls.

Addigy Apple Device Management for Catalina enables IT solution providers and businesses to rapidly upgrade their entire network of macOS systems to the new 10.15 OS, the most advanced version of Apple’s operating system to date. With Catalina, there are significant upgrades to end-user privacy and system security. There is also the ability for users to create macOS apps from iPad apps and run those apps natively alongside existing macOS applications so that users can drag and drop content between them. Full advantage can be taken of the larger screen and powerful architecture of the macOS system to provide a seamless experience across devices.

The macOS 10.15 Catalina introduces a focus on 64-bit applications and the end of support for 32-bit apps. The move to 64-bit allows for modernization of the OS to take advantage of new capabilities while reducing the attack footprint of the OS. Catalina also includes stronger end-user privacy controls that are more closely in-sync with Apple iOS. To assist customers in preparing for the release of Catalina, the company provides a checklist to make the transition as seamless as possible.

Addigy’s full-stack cloud-based Apple Device Management platform allows for centralized management of Catalina macOS and iOS13 computing environments. The solution provides 24x7x365 oversight of Apple devices to ensure systems are secure, up-to-date, and running at the highest levels of efficiency. IT administrators can thoroughly audit their Apple assets quickly, without server setup to identify which OS versions and applications are installed, and whether updates have been applied to all machines on the network. Catalina will be a big turning point in the hardening of Apple machines and Addigy’s immediate support will simplify how these devices need to be managed upon release.

“Addigy is pleased to support the latest generation macOS. Catalina provides important new features and security enhancements such as Enhanced Gatekeeper, Data Protections, Activation Lock, and Dedicated System Volume,” said Jason Dettbarn, CEO, Addigy. “As our customers move to the new OS, we are there to support customers and ensure a hassle-free upgrade from start to finish,” said Jason Dettbarn, CEO, Addigy.

WiFi Technology poised to change the indoor growing landscape. Most award-winning grow light company, Kind LED Grow Lights, launches highly anticipated K5 WiFi Grow Light

Kind LED K5 WiFi XL1000

Kind LED K5 WiFi XL1000

The Kind LED K5 XL1000 WiFi grow light is available for preorder on October 15th.

Kind LED Grow Lights has announced the launch of the new K5 Wifi, a massive update to their award-winning K5 XL1000 fixture. Newly integrated on-board computer with wireless command center, an easy-to-read LCD interface, and amplified UV diodes, makes this the perfect LED grow light solution for growers from beginner to the professional level.

The all-new Kind web-based Command Center gives growers the ability to set timers and light spectrum from the convenience of a computer or mobile device, eliminating the need to manually program individual lights or rely on third-party controller devices. KIND offers a large menu of preprogrammed lighting schedules, from seedling to late flowering stages, incorporating sunrise and sunset intensity changes to mimic mother nature and increase overall plant health. Growers also have the ability to customize and save lighting recipes based on the unique needs of their garden environment or plant type.

Kind LED Grow Lights has been the gold standard of LED Grow Lights for years, and have been honored by High Times magazine with their S.T.A.S.H. Gear of the Year award for four consecutive years since 2014. The new K5 WiFi LED grow light greatly amplifies quality and potency, with newly enhanced UV diodes to increase terpene and flavor profiles. The proven perfect 12-band spectrum significantly increases flower density and harvest weight with re-calibrated secondary optical lenses that focus light intensity and deliver up to 200% greater canopy penetration.

“The XL1000 has been the jewel in the crown of the horticultural lighting industry since it launched,” said Kind CEO Rory Kagan. “It’s an award-winning fixture and produces amazing results for home growers and commercial cultivation facilities alike. We wanted to build on everything the XL1000 does so well and incorporate today’s leading technology to take it to the next level.”

In today’s massive commercial agriculture industry, LED technology offers undeniable advantages over traditional grow lighting fixtures. LED grow lights require 40% less electricity to operate, cutting production costs in half when coupled with the reduced AC and cooling infrastructure needed when running LED grow lights. However, only the top-performing fixtures like those from KIND LED Grow Lights are able to achieve this without sacrificing yield, while simultaneously increasing harvest quality. Most large scale growers see a return on investment within a year while using LED. While traditional grow lights typically carry a 5,000-hour lifespan, KIND LED technology remains highly effective up to a whopping 100,000 hours.

The Kind LED K5 XL1000 WiFi grow light is available for preorder on October 15th with a retail price of $1,895. For commercial level inquires, contact a KIND LED lighting expert for a custom digital lighting plan at 855-559-5463. OnePoint HCM engages employees with Complete G Suite Integration.

With 2 million+ businesses relying on Google G Suite to power employee communication from enterprise Gmail and collaboration tools, to calendar or secure file storage, OnePoint HCM has introduced seamless integration with Google G Suite. This new integration gives small and mid-sized businesses the ability to engage in-office and remote employees through connecting the Google platforms within the HCM platform.

“Employee experience and communication are a top priority for companies. With OnePoint G Suite integration business can leverage the superior capabilities of both platforms and streamline a number of critical business processes,” says David Miller, OnePoint HCM President. “From automating user provisioning and increased security with single sign-on and user authentication to streamlining communications and strengthening reporting, this integration offers a wide range of benefits by connecting these platforms,” adds Miller.

Starting with recruiting and onboarding, Google Maps lets SMBs list job openings with company-specific information on their Google Maps pin. The Maps app lets HR identify geographic talent pools for more efficient hiring. During the onboarding process, OnePoint user provisioning can create new user accounts automatically reducing IT administration and improving the new hire experience.

These are just some of several new integrations developed for the OnePoint platform. G Suite, in particular, is an example of the trend toward Platform as a Service technology investment. These integrations showcase how modern HCM platforms can create synergies for employees, managers and HR administrators with other business systems that the legacy payroll systems just aren’t able to support.

Take the Google Calendar connection and employee scheduling example. As employee schedules are created in OnePoint they can automatically synch to an employee’s personal google calendar. This eliminates the need for the employee to wait until the schedule is posted to see their assigned shifts. This automation can streamline shift coverage and expedite any changes/swaps that may be necessary.

Aside from scheduling, the G Suite integration is integral in supporting compliance, workforce analytics and HR reporting that companies use every day. The Google Drive integration means HR can schedule and push reports, graphs, timesheet, payroll information, exemption reports, and other critical documents from OnePoint securely into Google Drive while adhering to the permissions structure. This gives your management the regular data needed to monitor issues and prompt alerts; it can even help to make more informed business decisions.

More information on the one point GSuite integration can be found here:

https://onehcm.com/integrations/google-g-suite/

Additional integrations are planned to follow.

About OnePoint HCM and OnePoint Connect:

OnePoint HCM combines a powerful, enterprise-class HR technology with dedicated support services to help companies strengthen and streamline their workforce HCM. The OnePoint HCM platform is a single-database system that unifies employee data, increases productivity, boosts engagement, and simplifies compliance across the entire organization. OnePoint HCM was recently named to HR Tech Outlook’s 2018 Top 10 Workforce Management Solutions.

OnePoint Connect is the API manager from OnePoint HCM that leverages the single employee record to connect to third party products including Microsoft Office 365, Google G Suite, Box.com, Salesforce, Dropbox, and Indeed with more integrations in development.
