Banc Intranets Introduces New 4.6 Version of DirectorsLink® and BancWorks® with Enhanced Features, Functionality and Security

News Image

DirectorsLink and BancWorks are powerful technology solutions that can deliver tremendous benefits to organizations.

Banc Intranets, a provider of secure, web-based enterprise content management solutions, is pleased to announce the latest 4.6 release of its DirectorsLink® board portal and BancWorks® employee intranet products.

The latest version of DirectorsLink is equipped with document management enhancements that include important data loss prevention features. For example, the module allows organizations to turn on/off user-side file download and print capability to minimize the potential loss of data. It also presents documents in a preview window and prevents them from being auto downloaded with the ability to search the document, view thumbnails, and add personal bookmarks.

DirectorsLink also offers additional upgraded functionality for both users and administrators. Key features for users include a dashboard view that shows Favorite, Recent and Most Viewed documents, the ability to be notified about changes to documents, and sharing and social capabilities. Enhanced administrator features include the ability to drag and drop files from the desktop, auto convert files to PDF, check in/out with version control with historical versions, combine documents into Zip files for easy offloading, use website annotations for the edit/review process, and restore deleted documents/folders with one click.

The new version of BancWorks contains all of the document management enhancements, along with an advanced site search tool. The updated site search features allow administrators to better manage the modules that the system will search, add an eform that users can submit to report on unsuccessful searches, set how long previous search results are kept for reporting, and add/manage stop words that should be ignored with search terms.

In addition to the expanded document management and site search features, BancWorks is receiving new enhancements to its Kudos employee recognition tool. The upgrade to Kudos is in the final testing phase and should be available for release in October. Kudos’ revamped version will include the ability to submit multi-user Kudos, comment or like Kudos, see a dashboard view on the Kudos approvals page, and provide a Kudos submission link from the contact card in the address book. The employee recognition tool will also feature a variety of administration options that control how Kudos are edited and displayed.

“DirectorsLink and BancWorks are powerful technology solutions that can deliver tremendous benefits to organizations,” said Banc Intranets Founder and CEO Mark Anderson. “We are excited to offer enhanced versions of these products to bring our clients even more features, functionality and value.”

The recent updates to DirectorsLink and BancWorks are warranted and timely, considering the growing trend for companies to focus on leveraging the benefits of digital solutions like DirectorsLink and BancWorks. Both products use innovative technology to enhance access to information and improve efficiency while saving time and reducing paper and printing costs. The DirectorsLink board portal solution, for example, allows organizations to compile, organize and manage meeting materials online, where directors can access them quickly and conveniently. The BancWorks intranet solution lets employees use a web browser to get immediate access to policies, procedures, products, services, pricing and other corporate information.

Nuspire Expands Managed Endpoint Service

Nuspire, a Managed Security Services Provider (MSSP), announced today that it has upgraded its Managed Endpoint service to include Endpoint Protection that leverages SentinelOne’s endpoint security platform that actively blocks threats on a business’ endpoints.

Nuspire’s Managed Endpoint Protection (EPP) service leverages SentinelOne’s endpoint technology that feeds data into Nuspire’s Security Information Event Management (SIEM) that identifies, blocks and remediates threats to your endpoints 24x7x365. This managed endpoint service includes unlimited research and investigation for indicators of compromise (IoC) by security engineers at Nuspire’s Security Operations Center along with full remediation support of threats identified. In addition, this service includes flexible deployment options, where it can operate in endpoint detection and response mode (passive detection and behavior logging) or endpoint protection mode (adds active quarantine/process termination and device isolation).

“This managed endpoint solution is the next layer of security at the endpoint, providing customers and our Security Operations Center with unparalleled visibility, detection, blocking, containment, and remediation services of both known and unknown evasive threats,” said Matt Corney, Nuspire CTO. “SentinelOne has some of the best endpoint software, and by pairing the telemetry and protection it provides us with our existing network telemetry and protection capabilities, our managed services are greatly enhanced, allowing for full path network communications to originating endpoint process identification. This correlation provides improved protection, deep root cause analysis and client security posture improvements furthering our clients’ ability to rest assured that their organization is secure and fully auditable.”

SentinelOne disrupts the $15 billion endpoint security market by converging two historically separate spaces – EPP (protection) and EDR (detection and response) – in a single platform using patented behavioral and static AI models to deliver autonomous capabilities with the lowest performance impact. The platform predicts and protects the endpoints, IoT devices, and cloud workloads from malicious activities at any stage of the attack chain – from the successful exploit to the last payload operation – at machine speed. Deployed in thousands of enterprises across the globe, including 3 of the Fortune 10, SentinelOne is a complete antivirus replacement.

SwitchBot launches Kickstarter campaign for affordable device that transforms any curtains into smart curtains in 30 seconds

News Image

SwitchBot Curtain is a small wireless device that makes any curtains motorized after 30 seconds of installation.

Today, SwitchBot launched its latest product, SwitchBot Curtain, a small wireless device that motorizes any curtains. After just 30 seconds of installation, users can enjoy the convenience of smart curtains that save energy, improve their sleep cycles, and deter burglars. It is now available on Kickstarter for $69.

SwitchBot Curtain is a small wireless device that makes any curtains motorized after 30 seconds of installation. After mounting to their curtain rod or rail, users can then control and schedule their curtains to open and close with a simple app on their phone or with voice controls using Google/Alexa/Siri or via IFTTT with the SwitchBot Hub. The SwitchBot Curtain also has a built-in light sensor so it can automatically open the curtains when the sun rises once set.

The device supports a wide variety of track types, including U-rail and I-rail, and any rod types with different diameters. The device can be controlled via the SwitchBot app; with voice controls when paired with a smart speaker like Google Home, Apple HomePod or Amazon Alexa; or with the SwitchBot Curtain wireless remote button, which can be mounted on a wall or left free to carry from room to room.

“The ability to automatically wake up to daylight while still going to bed in the true dark can do wonders for sleep and now it’s easy to achieve,” said SwitchBot CEO Connery Lee. “SwitchBot Curtain also allows you to automatically block out unwanted mid-afternoon sun or make it look as if someone’s home when you go away–it’s a simple solution to a variety of everyday issues.”

Coupled with the company’s app, users are able to set schedules for their curtains to open or close. Alternatively, they can use the built-in light sensor to have SwitchBot automatically react based on the time of day and amount of sunlight. Users can also check the app to see if their curtains are open or closed and adjust them remotely.

“Curtains themselves can be a big investment and it would be a waste to have to get rid of them if you do want to enjoy motorized curtains,” said Lee. “At SwitchBot, we are big believers in ‘retrofitting’ homes to make them smart instead of simply replacing everything. That was a big part of our inspiration for SwitchBot Curtain–achieving that ‘smart’ lifestyle with minimal excess products.”

SwitchBot Curtain is a completely wireless solution powered by a rechargeable battery that lasts 8 months depending on the usage. Users can also eliminate the need to charge at all with the solar panel add-on.

SwitchBot is currently available for a Kickstarter special price of $69 with a delivery date of April 2020. Media wishing to interview SwitchBot personnel should contact PR agent, Borjana Slipicevic at media@switch-bot.com

Jeremy Cullen, Channel Enablement Specialist, High Wire Networks

“Jeremy joins the High Wire Networks team with more than a decade of experience in computer networking and security.”

High Wire Networks, providers of the Overwatch Managed Security Platform-as-a-Service, announced today that managed security veteran Jeremy Cullen has joined the company as a channel enablement specialist for Overwatch solution.

In this role, Cullen will support High Wire Networks’ channel partners with solutions sales, engineering and delivery. He’ll leverage Overwatch’s streamlined quoting and onboarding processes to help engineer solutions for partners and their clients.

Cullen brings 12 years of executive experience with managed service providers (MSPs) to High Wire Networks. Overwatch’s platform and cutting-edge approach to holistic security services fills that gap, positioning partners for growth as threats become more prevalent and demand for managed security services continues to accelerate.”

“In this environment, I couldn’t be more thrilled to join High Wire Networks,” he added. “The culture and professionalism, and management’s do-what-it-takes approach to enabling partners really appealed to me. I’m looking forward to working with Overwatch partners to win more business and grow revenue together.”
