The new PetChatz HDX raises the bar on video-based, pet care technology

News Image

The PetChatz HDX is the perfect gift for tech-savvy pet owners who want a clear, consistent, reliable connection to their furry friends any time, any place.

Pet parents just can’t hide how much they love their fur babies. And with the holidays right around the corner, many people have their pets at the top of their gift lists. In fact, the average American pet owner spent $183 on their pet during the holidays last year, and as the 2019 holiday season approaches, tech products are likely to be a hot item for pet owners who increasingly use technology to manage all aspects of life. PetChatz®, a leading pet technology company that pioneered the video treat cam and digital daycare system, announced today the availability of PetChatz HDX, the third-generation of the company’s award-winning, patented Greet & Treat® videophone that allows pet parents to check in with their pets from anywhere, anytime via their smartphones, tablets or PCs.

Available just in time for the holiday shopping season, the PetChatz HDX features the following new-and-improved capabilities:

  • Improved video quality in low-light environments and a wider camera angle to give pet owners a better view of their pets, both day and night.
  • Enhanced 1080p streaming and Wi-Fi connectivity that works on both 2.4 and 5G networks so that PetChatz users can rely on a stable connection to their pets.

“Our latest technology enhancements continue to raise the bar for two-way videophone systems — just in time for the busy holiday shopping season,” said Lisa Lavin, PetChatz founder and CEO. “The PetChatz HDX is the perfect gift for tech-savvy pet owners who want a clear, consistent, reliable connection to their furry friends any time, any place.” According to Lavin, the new PetChatz HDX is now available for sale online at PetChatz.com, Chewy.com, and Amazon.com for less than $350.

With PetChatz, pet parents can have two-way video chats, dispense treats, provide calming aromatherapy, play “Brain Games” with the PawCall accessory, stream DOGTV, and record/share sound- and motion-activated videos to ensure their pet is safe, happy and content. Also, because love is a two-way street, the PetChatz system allows pets to press the PawCall button and send a message to their owner when they’re feeling lonely. The durable, pet-safe PetChatz system mounts flush to the wall over an electrical outlet, to the optional PetChatz Stand accessory or kennel at eye-level, ensuring pet safety and increasing peace of mind for the pet owner while they are away from their fur baby.

Customers should not be forced to choose what data to monitor and protect due to vendor licensing constraints. With this offering, we are ensuring that CISOs are empowered to achieve their goals without sacrifice.”

SRND and LexisNexis Risk Solutions Introduce the CodeDay Big Data Challenge

We hope this new program helps to encourage students to build the skills and knowledge that is necessary to pursue technology careers.

On November 9, thousands of high school students across the country will compete to solve real-world problems in the CodeDay Big Data Challenge. SRND, a non-protfit organization that promotes STEM education for high school students and LexisNexis® Risk Solutions have partnered to offer the competition – which is a newly added twist for CodeDay, a 24-hour programming event hosted seasonally in 53 cities across the US and Canada.

During the new competition, student teams will be given 90 minutes to devise a big data solution using two open data sets that relate to gaming and music. They will use the same technology and techniques used to solve problems such as the detection of money laundering or compromised user accounts. To aid in analyzing the data, students will be granted access to HPCC Systems®, LexisNexis Risk Solution’s leading, open source big data processing platform.

The Big Data Challenge will be held as one of many events at CodeDay, a 24-hour event that gives beginner middle and high school students the tools and mentoring to explore programming and computer science.

“We’re really excited about this partnership because our students want to solve problems that improve their world. Increasingly, that requires working with the tremendous amount of data available,” said Tyler Menezes, Executive Director at SRND. “This opens up a lot of possibilities.”

“As it is forecasted that the amount of data in the world is expected to exceed 40 trillion gigabytes (40 zettabytes) by 2020, the need for data scientists will continue to increase,” said Arjuna Chala, Senior Director, Operations, LexisNexis Risk Solutions. “We hope this new program helps to encourage students to build the skills and knowledge that is necessary to pursue technology careers.”

A Hybrid Cloud Computing Company

Validated workload-specific solutions for Azure Stack HCI will give customers greater confidence in their chosen solution, and faster time-to-value. DataON MUST 3.0 demonstrates our commitment to providing innovative tools that simplify the deployment, monitoring and management of Azure Stack HCI.

DataON, an industry-leading provider of hybrid cloud solutions for Microsoft Azure Stack HCI with cloud-based Azure Services, today announced workload-specific solutions for Azure Stack HCI with DataON MUST 3.0 for Windows Admin Center. These solutions will be showcased at DataON booth #1645 at Microsoft Ignite 2019, from November 4-7, 2019, in Orlando, Florida.

Azure Stack HCI is designed to simplify hybrid cloud scenarios, helping customers combine data center computing and Windows Server technologies with Azure management services integration. It helps customers solve IT challenges while scaling and evolving as business and IT needs change. Azure Stack HCI features the same Hyper-V based software-defined compute, storage, and networking as Azure Stack and shares similar testing and validation criteria.

To help customers select the right solution for their workloads, DataON solutions for Azure Stack HCI are now optimized for specific workloads:

  • Branch office and edge – Meet the evolving IT demands of branch offices, retail storage, and field location. DataON’s Kepler 2-node and 3-node solutions, including our innovative Kepler-47 G2, were the first validated Azure Stack HCI solutions designed specifically for remote office/branch office, and edge environments.

It’s very important to educate these students on the latest, most innovative manufacturing technologies. We’re really proud to be a part of this campaign.

ACCESS Manufacturing Systems partnered with the Manufacturer’s Association of Central Florida (MACF) for the ‘MACFinMOTION’ campaign, which includes various student tours of manufacturing facilities for ‘MFGDay2019’.

Twenty-one Cypress Creek High School students were welcomed at the new ACCESS Orlando office for a full day of 3D printing demonstrations, followed by presentations on advanced CAM software, concluding with lunch and a Q&A session with ACCESS manufacturing experts.

“We greatly appreciate the opportunity to work with MACF and help the local education community,” said Joe Lagennusa, national sales manager of ACCESS Manufacturing Systems. “It’s very important to educate these students on the latest, most innovative manufacturing technologies. We’re really proud to be a part of this campaign.”

According to the Program Coordinator at Orange County Public Schools, Franco Frazzetta, the goal of the 3D printing program is ultimately to promote additive manufacturing as a career field. “[Because] this is such a new field, we are looking for some mentoring. Our students do have 3D printing programs that they utilize, but we are always looking towards our local manufacturers as models for best practices in the industry to help guide our instruction,” Frazzetta said.

Manufacturers Association of Central Florida Director of Marketing & Communications, Christian Davidson, said, “I know the students are excited to visit [the ACCESS] facility!”

The MACF has worked as a non-profit organization, for over 27 years, elevating the local manufacturing industry. Their ties to Central Florida educational institutions allows for partnerships with manufacturing companies, encouraging students to enhance their knowledge and take advantage of the various local manufacturing career opportunities.

ACCESS successfully created an immersive experience for the students, who were able to discover the complexities of designing parts in advanced 3D printing software, as well as witnessing those designs come to life by being printed in various metals and composites on Markforged 3D printers, and RIZE full-color industrial 3D printers.

Students also enjoyed presentations on advanced CAM software and 3D G-code simulation, followed by a Q&A session, along with lunch, courtesy of ACCESS Manufacturing Systems.
