Canvia, The Smart Digital Frame, is Now Widely Available After a Successful Crowdfunding

Canvia Digital Art Frame

Canvia represents a long-desired device that empowers ‘art as an experience’ for art enthusiasts and maintains an authentic look at the same time.

Not all art is created equal, especially in the “smart art” category. Palacio Inc. is making this distinction with a successful crowdfunding campaign for the interactive art display, Canvia.

Raising more than $325,000, the Silicon Valley startup’s tech art vision is becoming a tangible reality, in part due to its refined art experience powered by ArtSense technology. This proprietary processing takes every image and every viewing condition into consideration for a different level of required adjustment.

ArtSense technology makes the Canvia display realistic like a real painting or print in addition to preserving texture, color and brushstrokes. Setting itself apart from competing digital art displays, Canvia solves the aspect ratio issue of different image sizes using re-positioning and zoom. Zoom also allows the ability to view the details of any part of the artworks.

Canvia’s other differentiator includes a whole world of exclusive art at a user’s fingertips. Palacio’s growing library focuses on current and contemporary genres with over 500 current artists participating on the platform with a nominal subscription fee and access to 3000 artworks for free.

“Canvia represents a long-desired device that empowers ‘art as an experience’ for art enthusiasts and maintains an authentic look at the same time,” said Rahul Ranjan, Founder and CEO of Palacio Inc.

The brand enables users to change their artwork with the seasons, mood, time of day, occasions and more with the touch of a phone or web app. For those looking to feature their very own content, they can simply upload it. Canvia easily transitions decor without breaking the bank on expensive artwork. Now art lovers can enhance their spaces in a hassle-free way that doesn’t require patching any walls from past frames or finding studs to put up new pieces.

Look for Canvia’s newest release this month, a multi-device control desktop app. Convenient for multi-unit installation, now multiple devices can be managed from a single console or app.

For more information, please visit https://canvia.art

About Canvia: The future of art is here with Canvia. Each frame is connected to a huge library of art and photography, which can be accessed directly from an app. Access thousands of works for free or choose a paid subscription for award-winning, exclusive contemporary works from internationally renowned artists and photographers. Canvia uses proprietary image processing and built-in sensors to make any digital image of art look like a real painting or high-quality print.

Yamaha PSS-A50 Is an Ultra-Compact Producer’s Powerhouse

Yamaha PSS-A50 Keyboard

Yamaha PSS-A50 Keyboard

“This much music production capability in a keyboard this tiny and affordable is unprecedented,” said Ben Harrison, marketing manager, Digital Piano and Portable Keyboard, Yamaha Corporation of America.

Yamaha debuts the PSS-A50 portable keyboard, a physically petite but musically mighty inspiration machine for modern production on the go. Whatever the style of music, its high-quality Voices and sophisticated arpeggiator turn ideas into tunes in record time — and it all comes at an unbelievably affordable price.

The PSS-A50 features 40 instrument Voices plus two drum kits, all with sound quality more like that of a professional Yamaha synth than anything else, with Pianos, synths, basses, strings, and more all sounding like today’s hits.

The experience of playing these sounds is just as high-end, thanks to a velocity-sensitive, 37-note keyboard inherited from the Yamaha reface family of specialty synths. The reface line has won critical acclaim for feel and expressive nuance previously not thought possible from mini keys, and those keys are here.

Activate the arpeggiator, and the true power of the PSS-A50 is unleashed. It goes far beyond traditional arpeggio fare, offering a selection of 138 musical phrases suited to the various instrument Voices — including the drum kits for beat creation — as well as a myriad of up-to-the-minute musical styles. What’s more, the Phrase Recorder performs looper-like recording, letting the player create custom phrases then play them back continuously while building up the rest of the groove.

The Motion Effect button adds important musical expression such as filter sweeps, pitch dives, and modulation, and its effects are captured by the Phrase Recorder right along with the notes. Likewise for sustain and portamento, which are triggered by another button.

When connected to a computer with the included USB cable, the PSS-A50 can function as a MIDI controller for software instruments hosted on a computer, or even record its output as multi-track MIDI data into a DAW such as Cubase.

At under 20 inches wide and weighing just over two and a half pounds, the PSS-A50 easily slips into a backpack, and it’s built tough. It can run on four AA batteries or via USB bus power, so if it’s plugged into a computer (or a phone charger or a “power brick”), no batteries are required. For jamming in private, a stereo headphone output mutes the convenient built-in speaker.

“This much music production capability in a keyboard this tiny and affordable is unprecedented,” said Ben Harrison, marketing manager, Digital Piano and Portable Keyboard, Yamaha Corporation of America. “It’s ideal for the aspiring producer, but we think even pros would get addicted to it as an idea machine.”

Pricing and Availability

The Yamaha PSS-A50 will ship to retailers on November 1 at an MSRP of $169.00. For more information, visit the Yamaha Booth at the 2020 NAMM Show in the Anaheim Marriott Hotel, Marquis Ballroom, January 16-19, 2020, or https://yamaha.io/2CcpEuU

Cryopak Introduces CTL (Contactless Temperature Logger) an Important Addition to their Line of Data Loggers

“The CTL is an exciting new addition to our family of data loggers that will offer a simpler and more efficient user experience.”

Cryopak is proud to announce the unveiling of its new data logger with wireless capabilities: the CTL (Contactless Temperature Logger). This new addition to the company’s cold chain portfolio provides an efficient and advanced method in obtaining and syncing data with today’s mobile devices and computers.

The CTL is a plug-and-play device that accurately captures the required temperature data and presents the information in an easy to read report available in PDF, Excel, and raw data formats. This logger allows a connection for data transfers via mobile app. The first release of the CTL is compatible with Android and iOS devices; Windows versions are currently in development. The wireless communication between devices can be utilized to synchronize data and time, setup the device, log parameters and download the records.

“The CTL is an exciting new addition to our family of data loggers that will offer a simpler and more efficient user experience,” said Parminder Singh, Operations Manager for Cryopak Verification Technologies. “End users monitoring the temperatures of their shipments will no longer have to rely on a bulky laptop or PC. They can be anywhere within 30 meters (near the truck, in the warehouse or on the dock) and simply download the data wirelessly to a mobile device using our compatible app.” Singh also mentioned that the information downloaded can be easily shared with anyone with just one click, eliminating the need for saving and uploading files.

A primary application for the use of these contactless data loggers will be in temperature mapping studies. This type of study consists of monitoring the environmental conditions of a storage space at a regular interval for 7 days.

Line 204 and Zio Studio Services Form Powerful Production Industry Alliance

Zio Studio Services Founder Louis Dargenzio and Line 204 Founder Alton Butler

Both companies will continue to concentrate on our specialties, while leveraging the other’s industry knowledge and inventories to create the most value for our clients.

Line 204 and Zio Studio Services, two of Los Angeles’s top production rental companies, establish a synergistic brand partnership focused on the future of the film and digital media industry. Together, the companies provide greater convenience and a one-stop shopping solution for production vehicles and equipment needs, which is currently unavailable industry-wide—until now. Clients will continue to call their representative of choice at either company, then pick-up and return vehicles and supplies from Line 204’s massive 120,000-square-foot production facility in Sun Valley.

Both parties bring something valuable to the partnership. Founded by Louis Dargenzio, Zio Studio Services offers motorhomes, trucks, restrooms, carts, gators and studio services, while Line 204, founded by Alton Butler, offers production equipment inventory and a Sun Valley location as a central pick-up and drop-off zone. Line 204 is currently ramping up construction on its approved 10-acre, 240,000-square-foot, 10-stage studio lot, which will be Los Angeles’s largest studio facility built from the ground up in more than 30 years. Zio Studio Services will be the exclusive vehicle provider of Line 204’s new Sun Valley-based studio facility, which is slated to officially open its doors in 2021.

“Alton and I have been brainstorming for years on ways we could work together that would simplify the rental process for clients, and this deal does exactly that,” said Dargenzio. “Clients will be able to call one phone number and have access to what we believe is now Hollywood’s largest rental inventory of production vehicles and supplies. Both companies will continue to concentrate on our specialties, while leveraging the other’s industry knowledge and inventories to create the most value for our clients. It truly is a win-win.”

“Line 204’s clients wanted us to get back into the transportation game, and rather than starting from scratch, I looked toward Louis on this natural alliance,” said Butler. “And, by outsourcing our transportation needs to Zio, 204 can stick with what we’re good at and focus on our future expansion plans. This partnership puts us at the top of the game.”

About Line 204:

Line 204 is a top boutique studio and production rental company in Los Angeles that is owned and operated by Chief Executive Alton Butler. In 1997, Alton launched Line 204 out of his garage in Studio City where he rented production equipment to Los Angeles commercial units. Under his leadership, Line 204 has grown expeditiously, employing over 120 team members across three business entities: Line 204, 204 Events + Décor and Angstrom Lighting. In 2021, Line 204 will open a 240,000-square-foot studio complex in Sun Valley – the largest to be built in LA in more than 30 years! Line 204 has hosted some of the most recognized print and commercial shoots in the industry, including the last eight seasons of The Hollywood Reporter’s “Roundtable” series for both the Oscars and Emmy’s, Calvin Klein’s spring 2020 campaign, “Sesame Street” celebrity guest spots, Hugo Boss fragrance with Zac Efron, Old Navy Holiday 2019, Netflix’s “6 Underground” and “The Handmaids Tale.” Line 204 has rented props and production equipment to some of today’s top TV shows, including “This is Us.” For more information about Line 204, please visit http://www.line204.com.

The Most Connected School in the World

Energybox works in a number of industries, one of them being higher education. Energybox has been working with Independent Schools Foundation (ISF Academy) since 2016. With the implementation of Energybox solutions, ISF is the most connected school in the world monitoring nearly 6,000 pieces of equipment such as lighting, HVAC units, AV equipment, projectors, swimming pool boilers, and pumps across their buildings.

ISF was searching for an energy monitoring solution for both sustainability and educational purposes, as practical experience in sustainability practices is becoming more important in the job market. Energybox was able to provide ISF with the actionable visibility they were looking for and have developed a solution that has enabled both staff and students to engage in sustainable practices. This has helped them understand the effect they have on the environment. Together, they created a cutting edge app that consists of two parts. The first part involves the EnergyTracker™ solution. Students and faculty members have access to energy data on an interactive 3D map landscape of the school that shows energy data by building, floor and room-level for granularity. The second part provides a platform for all 2,000 students to compete against each other in energy conservation objectives. They earn points by saving energy, taking quizzes and social sharing.

ISF uses what they call a “rocket” composter which churned out about 27,000 kilograms or 60,000 pounds of food waste in the first year. This amounts to over 90 grams or 3 ounces of waste per student per day. They use the compost material to sell gardening kits throughout Hong Kong to promote the regrowth of plants. Implementing sustainable practices at ISF has created a new and exciting learning experience for students. Diana Zuck Ibarra, who runs Shuyuan science and sustainability program, worked very closely with Energybox in the creation and implementation of these tools. She stated, “We believe that if you can change the behavior of school students, there’s a multiplier effect.”

ISF students and faculty have become more aware of their energy consumption through Energybox solutions. Not only are they learning to be more sustainable, but having fun at the same time with a little healthy competition. The data that they have access to is so granular and allows them to really understand where the most energy is being used in order to reduce and optimize their usage. The app and the implementation of Energybox solutions have encouraged a different way of thinking, leading to a more sustainable and efficient world.

About Energybox:

Nevada Department of Taxation Approves Ziel’s APEX as Cannabis Mold Solution

APEX by Ziel is radio frequency equipment to treat yeast and mold count in cannabis. APEX is used by Tahoe Hydro and is the only approved mold treatment method by the Nevada Department of Taxation.

This solution is a triple-win for the state, protecting consumer safety, providing cultivators a cost-effective and organic pathway to bring their product to market, and maximizing tax revenue for the State of Nevada and its citizens.

Ziel, creators of APEX, radio frequency equipment that reduces microbial pathogens such as yeast and mold in cannabis, has been approved for use by the State of Nevada, and is currently the only remediation technology approved for cultivators by the Department of Taxation. The technology was recently featured in a story on KTVN-TV evening news, the CBS Reno affiliate.

In August, tainted cannabis batches triggered two health advisories and product recalls in Nevada. Subsequently, the Nevada Department of Taxation opened an investigation on September 16th after multiple testing failures by an independent lab found high levels of yeast and mold present on cannabis sold in three Las Vegas dispensaries. The Nevada limit for yeast and mold is 10,000 colony-forming units per gram; a follow-up test by the Nevada Department of Agriculture found cannabis with yeast and mold levels of 390,000 cfu/g, nearly 40 times the legal threshold.

APEX offers a chemical-free, organic technology that reduces total yeast and mold count in cannabis while retaining potency and terpenes. Ziel’s APEX technology is currently used by some of the largest cultivators in North America. Three cultivators have adopted APEX into their standard processing procedures in Nevada, remediating 100 percent of their product prior to distribution to retail dispensaries, including Tahoe Hydro, an award-winning cannabis cultivation company located in Carson City that has distribution in Las Vegas and throughout Nevada. Additional clients include Los Sueños Farms, the largest outdoor cannabis farm in the country, and two of the “big five” licensed producers in Canada.

“Before incorporating APEX into our cultivation processes, we were losing up to 28 percent of our product to testing failures,” explained Mark Bruno, chief operating officer and co-founder of Tahoe Hydro, which exclusively uses 374 Labs for all testing. “We are now consistently meeting our regulatory requirements, which are among the most stringent in the country, while also meeting our customer’s expectations for the high quality our brand is known for. APEX improves our bottom line and most of all, we sleep easier knowing we are providing safe cannabis to consumers.”

374 Labs, a trusted laboratory that was the first in the state to achieve ISO/IEC 17025:2005 accreditation, which guarantee consistent and accurate test results, has analyzed thousands of pounds of flower in Nevada.

“We have seen firsthand the powerful results of remediating cannabis through radio frequency treatment, and companies that use APEX have product that consistently passes testing requirements,” commented Alec Garcia, a principal at 374 Labs. “The technology works. We have analyzed the data and can see industry-wide benefits as more and more cultivators adopt this technology as the gold standard in remediation.”

APEX operates by using radio frequency to reverse the polarity of water molecules in the plant’s moisture. The water molecules oscillate 27 million times a second, generating heat volumetrically, killing pathogens throughout the flower based on Ziel’s proprietary processing parameters. APEX treats up to 20 pounds of cannabis in less than 15 minutes of process time.

“We are honored to be approved by the Nevada Department of Taxation as the only authorized remediation method for cultivators,” explains Arthur de Cordova, co-founder of Ziel. “This solution is a triple-win for the state, protecting consumer safety, providing cultivators a cost-effective and organic pathway to bring their product to market, and maximizing tax revenue for the State of Nevada and its citizens.”
