Cloud4Wi Supercharges Enterprise WiFi With WBA OpenRoaming

News Image

“I am delighted to welcome Cloud4Wi as a principal member of the WBA and congratulate them on taking a leadership role in accelerating the adoption of Passpoint and WBA OpenRoaming™ in the enterprise world,” said Tiago Rodrigues, CEO at WBA.

Cloud4Wi, the industry’s leader in enterprise WiFi-based experiences, today announced it has increased its involvement with the Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA) by upgrading its membership level from Implementer to Principal Member.

“As the WiFi industry continues to face some big challenges in adoption because of painful WiFi onboarding experience, security challenges, and untapped business opportunities, Cloud4Wi believes that it can help accelerate the adoption of Passpoint and WBA OpenRoaming standards among enterprises,” said Andrea Calcagno, CEO and co-founder of Cloud4Wi.

“Cloud4Wi will sit on multiple working groups at the WBA, including OpenRoaming Work Group, Customer Experience Work Group, Test & Interoperability Work Group, and Roaming Work Group, and will be cooperating with the other key players to define new, disruptive use cases for enterprises.” Calcagno added. Cloud4Wi joined the WBA in February 2021 as Implementer Member in the WBA OpenRoaming initiative.

Cloud4Wi will play a key role in moving the WiFi industry forward by providing enterprises with a solution that is compliant with Wi-Fi CERTIFIED Passpoint and the WBA industry-standard framework for WBA OpenRoaming. It will enable the enterprise’s network to join the WBA OpenRoaming federation by delivering an automatic, secure, connected WiFi experience. Moreover, Cloud4Wi will perform the Identity Provider (IdP) (As-a-Service) role and enable the enterprise to distribute its own profile to its customers through a tailored onboarding experience. The Passpoint profiles can be installed via a mobile app — WiFi software defined kit (SDK) — or by downloading a file from a web page that can be reached through multiple channels, such as email, SMS, QR code, banner web, or through the traditional captive portal.

Once a customer accesses the WiFi network offered at a location, the Passpoint-enabled client device will automatically connect upon subsequent visits in any location that is part of the OpenRoaming federation. This eliminates the need for customers to search for and choose a network, request WiFi access, and re-enter authentication credentials each time they visit. Passpoint automates the entire process, enabling more seamless connectivity between WiFi networks and mobile devices, all while delivering enterprise-level security. As one can imagine, this process dramatically frees up precious time and resources from IT support staff and improves the overall customer experience. Enterprises will be able to collect actionable data about their customer identity and their behaviors across the federated locations and all is done under strict legal and privacy compliance.

The result of the reduced friction is an increase in the number of connected customers. In turn, enterprises will enjoy a comprehensive view of their customers from the initial online onboarding to return visits across the federation, thus enabling the delivery of compelling location-aware experiences.

“I am delighted to welcome Cloud4Wi as a principal member of the WBA and congratulate them on taking a leadership role in accelerating the adoption of Passpoint and WBA OpenRoaming™ in the enterprise world. I am confident Cloud4Wi’s contribution to our working groups will make a great difference in advancing our roadmap and industry collaboration” said Tiago Rodrigues, CEO at WBA.

Cloud4Wi is excited to participate in the 2022 WGC EMEA as a gold sponsor. The Cloud4Wi team will deliver an executive presentation on Day 2, 20 October at 09:25 CEST.

Phasecraft Experiment Leads to Important Breakthrough in Quantum Computing

“The Fermi-Hubbard instance in this experiment represents a crucial step towards solving realistic materials systems using a quantum computer,” says Phasecraft co-founder, and Professor of Quantum Computation at the University of Bristol, Ashley Montanaro.

Today researchers from Phasecraft, the quantum algorithms company; the University of Bristol; and Google Quantum AI published the results of an ambitious experiment in Nature Communications. The article, “Observing ground-state properties of the Fermi-Hubbard model using a scalable algorithm on a quantum computer,” describes how Phasecraft has taken an important first step towards using quantum computers to determine low-energy properties of strongly-correlated electronic systems that cannot be exactly solved by classical computers.

Modelling quantum systems of this form has significant practical implications, including the design of new materials that could be used in the development of more efficient solar cells and batteries, or even high-temperature superconductors. However, doing so remains beyond the capacity of the world’s most powerful supercomputers. The Fermi-Hubbard model is widely recognized as an excellent benchmark for near-term quantum computers because it is the simplest materials system that includes non-trivial correlations beyond what is captured by classical methods. Approximately producing the lowest-energy (ground) state of the Fermi-Hubbard model enables the user to calculate key physical properties of the model.

In the past, researchers have only succeeded in solving small, highly simplified Fermi-Hubbard instances on a quantum computer. This research shows that much more ambitious results are possible. Leveraging a new, highly efficient algorithm and better error-mitigation techniques, Phasecraft and their research partners successfully ran an experiment that is four times larger – and consists of 10 times more quantum gates – than anything previously reported in the literature. The work was partly funded by the ERC through Prof Ashley Montanaro’s Consolidator Grant “Quantum Algorithms: from Foundations to Applications,” and partly by UKRI through the EPSRC Prosperity Partnership scheme, which enabled the collaboration between the partners.

“The Fermi-Hubbard instance in this experiment represents a crucial step towards solving realistic materials systems using a quantum computer,” says Phasecraft co-founder, and Professor of Quantum Computation at the University of Bristol, Ashley Montanaro. “And we succeeded by developing the first truly scalable algorithm that anyone has managed to implement for the Fermi-Hubbard model. That’s particularly exciting because it suggests that we will be able to scale our methods in order to leverage more powerful quantum computers as the hardware improves.”

Phasecraft brings together many of the world’s leading quantum scientists and engineers and partners with the world’s leading developers of quantum hardware. Their research has led to fundamental breakthroughs in quantum science and is aimed at significantly reducing the timescale for quantum advantage in several critical areas. Beyond developing algorithms that will be able to scale to larger quantum computers, the Phasecraft team is also focused on continuing to build practically relevant features into their models so that they more accurately represent real-world systems.

“We are delighted to see this experiment designed and executed by Phasecraft, representing one of the largest digital fermionic simulations to-date, and also one of the largest variational algorithms to-date, performed on Google’s quantum computing hardware,” says Ryan Babbush, Head of Quantum Algorithms at Google AI. “The scalability of their approach derives from being state-of-the-art in terms of both error-mitigation and algorithm compilation for near-term quantum hardware.”

“This experiment represents a new milestone. It tells us what today’s quantum computers are capable of when we apply the best algorithmic technology available,” says Stasja Stanisic, Senior Quantum Engineer at Phasecraft, the paper’s lead author. “We can build on this work to develop better algorithms and better encodings of realistic problems for today’s devices.”

Expense Allocation and EAS

Expense allocation is a complex private equity and hedge fund accounting process to proportionately distribute shared expenses across management companies and funds. The SEC made expense allocation a compliance priority after discovering alternative asset managers were unintentionally misallocating costs and causing investors to overpay expenses. Renewed as an investigative priority for 2022, SEC misallocation penalties often exceed $1 million.

IntegriDATA developed EAS to automate expense allocations and eliminate the risk of misallocation. With EAS, private equity and hedge fund managers can instantly perform complex allocations without the risk of costly mistakes. EAS also helps advisors manage general expenses and accounts payable with invoice and T&E collection, approval workflow, and automated journal entries.

Other EAS features:

  • Expense management and approval workflows

Efficiency and Automation Can Insulate Small Businesses From Uncertain Economic Times

Between inflation and economic uncertainty, small retail businesses are at particularly high risk.

[Some small to mid-sized eCommerce] companies are ready to enter the global marketplace. They work very hard to compete and have no time to waste in the processes of setting up a website, managing orders, inventory, payments, and customer experiences

Recession is in the news. Experts disagree on the potential timing and intensity of a recession, but many see it as inevitable.(1) Meanwhile, August retail sales rallied with a 0.3% rebound off of July’s 0.4% drop.(2) Between inflation and economic uncertainty, small retail businesses are at particularly high risk.(3) How can small businesses compete with larger corporations during difficult times? StoreConnect technology provides eCommerce 3.0 sales, customer support, and channel integration onto one pane of glass with customizable controls that support remote teams, so they can streamline otherwise complex operations and free up existing staff from repetitive tasks.

“[Some small to mid-sized eCommerce] companies are ready to enter the global marketplace. They work very hard to compete and have no time to waste in the processes of setting up a website, managing orders, inventory, payments, and customer experiences,” says Mikel Lindsaar, CEO and Founder of StoreConnect.

According to research reported by Deloitte and Google, digitally advanced small businesses earn two times the revenue per employee.(4)

“It’s about driving efficiency. It’s about automation. And so, despite all the uncertainty in the economy, the demand environment remains strong. People really want to invest in technology for top-line growth, for efficiency,” says Bret Taylor, CEO of Salesforce, as reported in Yahoo Finance.

Through a cloud-based system, Salesforce is a CRM software that provides applications to support sales, customer service, marketing automation, analytics, and application development. However, it is geared toward enterprise-level companies. Mikel Lindsaar had a software development company based in Australia and was a consulting partner for Salesforce. He noticed how small to medium-sized businesses weren’t able to access the tools to compete with the Goliaths in the eCommerce space.

eCommerce businesses were outgrowing their software solutions without viable alternatives. Mikel Lindsaar saw one eCommerce business with over 80 different websites that each had to be updated manually with individual logins, competing software applications overwriting updated client contact details with older information, and stores with multiple possible sales bundles that were unable to accurately track their inventory. Operations for many smaller but successful eCommerce operations were heavily time-intensive, requiring extra staff, in some cases around the clock.

Mikel Lindsaar became a Salesforce Independent Software Vendor and built StoreConnect. It is an eCommerce, point of sale and content management system built on top of Salesforce’s Sales Cloud and designed for companies who want to grow. Using StoreConnect, small businesses can consolidate all their marketing, sales, and support channels into one time-saving system.

Small to medium-sized eCommerce 3.0 businesses can get more done with fewer people in less time using StoreConnect. Salesforce is the World’s #1 CRM according to International Data Corporation (IDC) in its latest Worldwide Semiannual Software Tracker, and now smaller companies can have a fully integrated eCommerce, point-of-sale and website system based on top of the world’s most powerful CRM.

StoreConnect’s within the World’s #1 CRM allows small to medium-sized businesses to cost-effectively leverage the automation and efficiency available to enterprise-level companies. Using StoreConnect, a company can launch an online store in an afternoon, configure it within the week and give their customer service teams updated, and relevant data at their fingertips. The system can easily handle multiple eCommerce sites with complex coupon codes and discount options, even in multiple currencies.

In a competitive marketplace and facing economic uncertainty, leveraging available technological solutions can give small- to medium-sized businesses the advantage they need to weather any storm and emerge stronger than ever.

About StoreConnect

With an extensive background as a small business entrepreneur and technology developer of software-as-a-service companies, StoreConnect founder Mikel Lindsaar saw a need for the small business customer to compete with the Goliaths in the eCommerce space.

His software development company (reinteractive) was already a consulting partner with Salesforce, which was best suited to enterprise businesses. StoreConnect was designed to focus on companies with less revenue yet greater potential.

StoreConnect is an eCommerce integration, including a point of sale and content management system built on Salesforce. It allows small- to medium-size businesses to consolidate all their marketing, sales, and support channels into one system, saving time and avoiding double work and lost information. The program is subscription and usage-based and built on and within Salesforce. Find out more at https://getstoreconnect.com/.

Trevanna Tracks Unveils New Branding and Enhanced Features for Enterprise Music Teams

News Image

“When we went through the identity process with a creative director, it was unanimous: Trevanna Tracks is credible, smart, friendly, and helpful. We know the technology we’ve built presents in this way; the time had come for those who are discovering us for the first time to see it too.”

Trevanna Tracks, the cloud-based software that transformed how studios and content creators manage sync music licensing, has undergone a rebrand, including an artful new website that better conveys the company’s mission to calm the chaos faced by music teams at the most forward thinking studios and video game developers.

The timing coincides with the public debut of two major features on the platform, Divisions and Non-Licensed Tracks.

Credible. Smart. Friendly. Helpful

Created by post-production executive Jennifer Freed, Trevanna Tracks has achieved success by blazing its own trail in entertainment technology. The rebrand is no exception: The site uses direct language and whimsical watercolor illustrations to demonstrate who it is for, what it does, and what can be expected when partnering with a SaaS platform that puts customer relationships first.

“We’ve been so dedicated to developing an intuitive product that makes our clients’ lives easier, we hadn’t taken a moment to define who we are,” said Freed, founder and CEO of Trevanna Tracks. “When we went through the identity process with a creative director, it was unanimous: Trevanna Tracks is credible, smart, friendly, and helpful. We know the technology we’ve built presents in this way; the time had come for those who are discovering us for the first time to see it too.”

With that in mind, Trevanna’s rebrand had the goal of making a statement, showcasing the company’s personality, and maintaining the clean user experience clients rely on.

The result:

  • Trevanna Tracks has defined itself as The Standard.
  • Each section of the site features a custom watercolor illustration by artist Keiko Morimoto.
  • The pages are a simple pathway, designed to lead a potential user effortlessly through the platform’s features or to connect with company leaders.

Divisions

The software’s most significant new development since its release, Divisions enables enterprises with multiple brands, business areas, or territories to create clear definitions between units within one subscription to Trevanna.

Enhanced functionality includes the client’s ability to:

  • Share information among Divisions that will continue to reduce inefficiencies in workflow;
  • Maintain confidentiality with Division-specific restrictions;
  • Customize fields based on preferences;
  • Grant visibility into only that business unit’s projects;
  • Improve executive-level reporting on music use, budgets, annual spend per licensor, and other data to inform future creative decisions.

Non-Licensed Tracks

Non-Licensed Tracks allows productions to organize and report on original music, scores, and work-for-hire just as they do licensed tracks. The feature was designed after speaking with clients on how the software could improve workflow.

Trevanna Tracks clients oversee a range of music use across multiple productions and marketing campaigns, and they often touch tracks that don’t require a license. By building out functionality and managed lists so that clients can enter these tracks into the platform, data remains clean and users are able to have a single source of truth for all types of synced music.

“We want every customer interaction with us rooted in trust,” explains Freed. “From our first impression to our platform UI to our feature roadmap to our customer support, every effort by the Trevanna Tracks team is to ensure a clean, calm and organized experience. We believe these updates reflect that!”
