One of the key features of the 15.1 update is the inclusion of the Rustici Engine integration. An immediate benefit is the availability of database connectivity which supports the native course launcher within the LMS.

PeopleFluent is proud to announce the latest release of its award-winning Learning Management System (LMS). This update features new integrations that will enhance functionality across PeopleFluent’s user experience platform.

One of the key features of the 15.1 update is the inclusion of the Rustici Engine integration. An immediate benefit is the availability of database connectivity which supports the native course launcher within the LMS.

“PeopleFluent customers will see better eLearning performance within the LMS, as well as improvements and enhanced capabilities throughout the system,” said Jim Johnson, Senior Product Owner at PeopleFluent. “This integration offers the same learning standards of the natively supported SCORM, AICC, and xAPI. The 15.1 update also enables connection to Watershed LRS for analytics, enabling future enhancements for embedding dashboards and leaderboards in the LMS user interface. Like PeopleFluent, Rustici and Watershed are part of the LTG family of companies, which allowed for a seamless process during the integrations.”

Additionally, foundational elements of the Rustici Engine integration will allow PeopleFluent users to take advantage of third-party content connectors such as GO1 and OpenSesame. This inclusion will enable access to future content subscriptions as they become available from Rustici Software.

The minor enhancements from the 15.1 update include greater optimization and configurability for reporting via Program Export by Program Session. The report will produce session data which can be edited in the Program CSV Data Loader and imported back into the LMS. Version 15.1 also includes minor updates for customers who use multiple PeopleFluent products, including new navigation.

ST Engineering iDirect Previews IoT Platform-as-a-Service Solution at SATELLITE 2020

News Image

“With our flexible platform-as-a-service model, our customers have a first mover advantage, delivering an innovative IoT solution, while leveraging their existing infrastructure investments and capacity.” Thomas Van den Driessche, Chief Commercial Officer of ST Engineering iDirect

ST Engineering iDirect, a company of ST Engineering North America, will preview a new, cost-effective IoT platform-as-a-service (PaaS) solution at the SATELLITE 2020 conference in Washington DC, March 9-12. The new solution will provide its service provider partners the ability to offer satellite-based connectivity for the industrial Internet of Things (IoT) market. Powered by hiSky‘s robust cloud-based solution with innovative small form-factor terminals, delivered in conjunction with iDirect and Newtec platforms, this highly scalable, geostationary-based (GEO) satellite solution supports flexible business models for immediate market access.

“According to a Northern Sky Research report, the global commercial satellite IoT market is expected to grow to about $1.4b by the end of 2028,” said Thomas Van den Driessche, President of the Executive Strategic Board and Chief Commercial Officer of ST Engineering iDirect. “We believe now is the time to capture addressable market segments and do that as quickly, broadly and cost-effectively as possible. With our flexible platform-as-a-service model, our customers have a first mover advantage, delivering an innovative IoT solution, while leveraging their existing infrastructure investments and capacity.”

The IoT PaaS solution utilizes a family of compact, lightweight terminals that feature a tightly-integrated satellite modem and flat-panel antenna design in Ka-band or Ku-band variants. The initial IoT platform-as-a-service offering includes Low Data Rate (LDR) and Medium Data Rate (MDR) service for deployment within both fixed and mobile environments. ST Engineering iDirect is offering a range of creative business models to reduce the upfront capital investments and operational complexities service providers traditionally face in creating their own IoT platforms.

For mobile use cases, the dynamic IoT terminal can be deployed for vehicle and fleet tracking or management, mining, agriculture, construction sensor aggregation, and fishing fleet applications. The fixed IoT terminal is designed to be deployed in extremely remote areas for utilities, pipeline and other energy use cases, and agricultural sensor backhaul applications where the lack of existing infrastructure offers unique deployment challenges.

The IoT PaaS offering and terminals will be previewed at the SATELLITE 2020 show in Washington DC from 9 to 12 March, ST Engineering iDirect stand #1501. Service providers will be able to utilise the IoT PaaS solution starting in Q2 2020.

Somfy and OSRAM Create Unified Experience for Managing Natural and Artificial Light

News Image

Somfy is proud to partner with OSRAM to simplify lighting management.

Somfy Systems, Inc., the world’s largest manufacturer of tubular motors for interior window coverings and exterior solar protections, is proud to partner with Osram, a leading global high-tech company with a diverse array of products including connected lighting solutions. The partnership between Osram and Somfy allows natural and artificial light to work better together in building environments.

Osram’s Encelium® networked lighting management system and Somfy’s automated shading solutions work together to create a more seamless user experience for light management. The combination of Osram Encelium and Somfy Digital Network® (SDN) creates a centralized interface for facility managers and streamlines the light management process. This unified control experience makes it simple to maximize the combination of natural and artificial light.

“Somfy is proud to partner with Osram to simplify lighting management,” said David Parrett, Lighting and Partnerships Business Development Manager for Somfy North America. “Introducing one system for both automated shading and lighting management creates smarter buildings.”

In the past, automated shading and lighting management systems were deployed separately. This led to a confusing user experience, hindered efficiency and was difficult to maintain. Lighting and shading required separate programming, separate maintenance and even separate wall stations. With the Somfy and Osram partnership, these two essential building functions are now joined together in one system.

“Controlling natural and artificial lighting in one environment enhances occupant comfort, streamlines building management and optimizes energy performance,” said Osram Product Manager Amit Parpani.

Now, lighting and shades can both be controlled from one unified wall station or touchscreen. This centralized control is easy to install and simple to use. A single dashboard allows users to manage and configure their lights and shades for seamless scheduling. Now building managers can schedule around office hours, holiday schedules, and even astronomical events like sunrise and sunset. Consolidated control saves time for facility managers and improves energy efficiency for projects of all sizes.

“We’re excited our automated shades can now integrate simply with artificial lighting,” said Parrett. “Combining these two lighting sources allows building managers to improve occupant comfort and save energy.”

Alert 360 breaks ground on new retail home and business security outlet.

“Today more than ever, tech-based companies especially need to adapt to the changing competitive landscape and have the courage to innovate with different go-to-market strategies,” said Richard Ginsburg, president and CEO, Alert 360.

Alert 360, one of the nations’ largest providers of home and business security and automation, has broken ground in Tulsa on a new go-to-market concept – the Alert 360 Retail Experience Center.

The Alert 360 Retail Experience Center will allow Tulsa consumers to enjoy user-friendly, hands-on experience with some of the best home security, business security, and smart home solutions available. For convenience, Alert 360 is locating the center on one of the highest traffic corners in Tulsa, at the site of a former gas station. The company will create an inviting space for current and potential Alert 360 customers to view, interact with, and design an infinite number of options in home and business security, automation, and IoT (Internet of Things).

Voted as a Best Home Security Provider and awarded a Best Places to Work in Oklahoma for four consecutive years, Alert 360 has provided award-winning security services to thousands of Tulsa home and business owners for nearly a half-century.

“With the integration of home and business security systems with automation, smart devices, and smartphones, our services have become commonplace and popular especially among Tulsa’s tech-savvy home and business owners,” said Don Fuson, general manager, Alert 360 Tulsa. “Home and business owners most often use our free mobile app to view, connect with, and manage their homes or workplaces when they can’t be in two places at once, so it makes sense to provide a convenient location for people on-the-go to stop and visit with us.

“Today’s security solutions – from security cameras, doorbell cameras and smart locks to automated lights and entertainment systems – are easily operated with the tap on a keypad, phone, or Apple Watch. Our new Alert 360 security retail space will provide a place for security consumers to experience this and more,” Fuson added. “We chose a high-traffic space that would allow customers who are interested in security or home automation to stop by, easily park, and visit.”

At Alert 360, we support more than 75 different IoT and security products and there is no better way to show our capabilities than in person. Additionally, as a Tulsa-based home and business security company, this is an ideal place to launch our first combined retail and branch location, which can be emulated across our national footprint.”

The retail center will contain a more robust version of Alert 360’s Mobile Experience Centers, which were launched in 2018 and have been successful in demonstrating the many benefits of today’s and future security and automation products to thousands of consumers. As a top 5 home security company in the nation, Alert 360 partners with global technology providers to continually develop and offer home security and business security services that create a better experience for consumers, including this new retail center.

“Today more than ever, tech-based companies especially need to adapt to the changing competitive landscape and have the courage to innovate with different go-to-market strategies. While we have focused significant marketing on the digital front at Alert 360, there is nothing like a consumer being able to touch, feel, and try our security products in person and participate in a demonstration with an Alert 360 security and automation expert,” said Richard Ginsburg, president and CEO, Alert 360.

Alert 360’s new Retail Experience Center in Tulsa also will have an open-air event space. In this space, the company plans to host community events and open houses, sharing valuable security tips, crime prevention solutions, and support of local Tulsa charitable efforts. Press Invited To Preview Flower Bulb Day And Unique Flower Mosaic At Union Square Ahead Of Large Crowd Turnout On Saturday, March 7

News Image

Flower Bulb Day 2020

WHAT: Press are cordially invited to a media-only preview of Flower Bulb Day 2020, a showcase of 100K+ colorful tulips and a unique flower mosaic display on Union Square on Saturday, March 7, 2020. Accredited media will be able to explore the tulip garden, take photos, film b-roll, and speak one-on-one with the Chairman of Royal Anthos, presenter of Flower Bulb Day, the Dutch Consulate General and California-based tulip farmers ahead of the opening of the flower bulb garden to the public.

Flower Bulb Day is a stunning celebration of spring during which more than 100K varieties of American-produced tulips grown from European bulbs take over San Francisco’s historic Union Square. Presented by Royal Anthos, with additional backing and support from the European Union, the free “tulip garden” will be open for the public’s enjoyment, with visitors encouraged to pick their own bunch of tulips to welcome the spring season. Access to the flower bulb garden on Union Square is free — and so are the tulips!

Additionally, music will be in the air and an information booth will be set up on Union Square to answer questions and for the public to learn more about growing flower bulbs — as well as a special guest appearance by globally beloved children’s character, Miffy, who celebrates her 65th birthday this year.

WHY: Flower Bulb Day celebrates and showcases the beauty and availability of classic, cheerful European flower bulbs. European traders export flower bulbs to more than 100 countries worldwide, and the US is by far the largest export market for European-grown flower bulbs. European traders alone export approximately 100 different species of flower bulbs annually, including large quantities of lilies, hyacinths, daffodils, dahlias and gladioli. More than one billion flower bulbs are exported from Europe to the US every year, where they are planted in private and public gardens, as well as greenhouses by professional growers for the production of cut flowers. Check out this video to learn more.

WHERE: San Francisco’s Union Square (conveniently located near the Powell Street BART station).

WHEN: Saturday, March 7, 2020. Press preview begins at 11:00 a.m. and concludes at 1:00 p.m. Gates open to the public at 1:00 p.m. and close at 4:30 p.m., when all 100K tulip bulbs will have been picked.

RSVP: Press who plan to attend Flower Bulb Day 2020 are kindly requested to RSVP to hello@wearemgp.com.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • A press kit including a wide selection of event images, logos and videos that can be used for b-roll purposes can be accessed here. All photos included in the press kit are royalty-free when citing iBulb as the source.
  • Flower Bulb Day 2020 is presented by Royal Anthos with additional cooperative support from the European Union, the help of San Francisco Recreation and Parks, and the Union Square Business Improvement District.

The asymmetric design of the unique mirror lens provides the driver with optimal views of specific danger zones in front of and around the vehicle.

To learn more about these products or the other Rosco products, stop by booth #2250 at the Work Truck Show to speak with Peter Plate, Rosco’s Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and Jim Fecile, Rosco’s National Sales Manager for Truck & Off-Road Vehicles.

The Work Truck Show®, an annual event produced by the NTEA – The Work Truck Industry Association, features the latest trucks, vehicle components and equipment. WTS facilitates over 500 exhibitors and covers more than 500,000 square feet.
