Humphreys & Associates, Inc. Announces Distance Learning Opportunity

Humphreys & Associates Logo

All H&A on-line courses earn Professional Develop Units (PDU) and Continuing Education Units (CEUs).

Humphreys & Associates, Inc. (H&A) is the industry recognized leader in program and project performance management system design, development, implementation, evaluation, analysis, use, and training. We have been offering distance-learning courses for project management personnel since initiating the creation of our most popular courses in video format, starting 1988 with our 3-day Project Scheduling Workshop (PSW) and our 3-day Earned Value Management System (EVMS) workshops. Our materials are maintained with frequent updates as requirements and concepts evolve and with specific versions for NASA, DoD and DOE projects. We refer to these as our Virtual Learning Labs (VLL)s because you can sit in the comfort of your own home and learn. To see a complete list of our courses and their descriptions visit our website.

All H&A on-line courses earn Professional Develop Units (PDU) and Continuing Education Units (CEUs).

In light of the pandemic the nation is facing and the disruption to our usual business practices, companies are all working on new ways for people to make better use of the time that may have to be spent at home. As a result, companies and their staff must ‘retool’ our approaches to work and educate while adhering to the physical constraints that may exist for an undetermined amount of time. H&A has a proven, cost effective approach to increasing a team’s skills to make them more valuable assets to your organization.

In addition, H&A now offers two career path certifications. We created the H&A Control Account Manager (CAM) Certification program over 5 years ago and approximately 600 people have gone through this rigorous certification process. We also created a Project Control/ Analyst (PC/A) Certification test for those who support the CAMs and Program Managers. If you are not sure that a candidate has the requisite knowledge prior to the Certification tests, then prior to their engaging in the test, you can make available to those future candidates the CAM Certification Training or the individual VLLs. You can also do the same as a refresher for candidates for the Project Control/ Analyst Certification test.

1. CAM Certification – Having a CAM certification means that an individual has demonstrated a knowledge level that establishes a sound foundation for success as a CAM and, eventually as a Project Manager. This certification is intended for those who understand the basic Earned Value concepts and are serving as, or in line to become, Control Account Managers for a project.

2. Project Control/Analyst (PC/A). There is a severe shortage of this skill available, and this certification will again ensure a knowledge level necessary to accomplish the important PC/A role. This certification is not intended for people new to Earned Value; it is for those who have been CAMs or provided support to CAMs and Project Manages who have demonstrated skills.

Corra Group Offers Its SwiftHire Application to Assist Businesses in Need of Remote Employment Screening Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic

“SwiftHire will service both domestic and international candidates,” said Gustavson. “This is a simple and easy solution for social distancing while maintaining a critical part of the on-boarding process.”

Corra Group is now offering SwiftHire to all business clients who are in need of a safe way to conduct employment screening remotely. The El Segundo, California based service offers a full range of background checks both domestically and globally.

“With SwiftHire, businesses can screen its candidates remotely,” said Corra Group Co-Founder, Nick Gustavson. “For trucking and transportation concerns, the company can obtain driver’s motor vehicle driving record, or MVR, in most states by merely emailing their drivers a link.

“Swifthire is such that the employer emails the candidate a link,” said Gustavson. “The candidate clicks on the link, does their own data entry, and then submits the report through email. The employer reviews the report and, if satisfactory, the employer with a simple click places the order. Voila. It’s done. SwiftHire automatically captures the candidate’s authorization form as well. MVR’s typically return in about a minute.”

Gustavson pointed out that Corra Group can create any number of packages the employer may need to satisfy its requirements. He noted in the course of sending out the SwiftHire link, the employer just clicks on the proper package and off it goes.

“SwiftHire will service both domestic and international candidates,” said Gustavson. “This is a simple and easy solution for social distancing while maintaining a critical part of the on-boarding process. With Swifthire, an employer can conduct everything from criminal records background checks, to healthcare sanctions, to education verification, and all else in between. This is the best way to assure safety and reduce the risk from personal contact.

“Corra Group understands we are all in this together and its incumbent upon us all to follow the safe working guidelines outlined by the CDC. So for a limited time, through the course of the novel Coronavirus pandemic, we are eliminating the application fee and offering SwiftHire free of charge. It is our small way of contributing to the well being of the national and global economies.”

BACKGROUND: Corra operates as Corra Group and Corra Global Research and specializes in employment screening and corporate research and due diligence.. It is one of the few companies that will answer the phone.

Mainstream Technologies Completes MSP Verify Certification with SOC 2 Type 2 Audit

Mainstream Technologies today announced that it has successfully completed the MSPAlliance’s MSP Verify Program (MSPCV) certification and SOC 2 Type 2. The MSPCV is based on the 10 control objectives of the Unified Certification Standard for Cloud & MSPs (UCS) and is the oldest certification program for cloud computing and managed services providers. Mainstream’s SOC 2 Type 2 audit was based on the UCS as well as the Trust Services Criteria for Security and the Additional Criteria for Availability and Confidentiality (TSP section 100A – 2017).

The MSPCV was the first of its kind created specifically for the managed services and cloud industry. Every certification comes with a written report with the entire process documented, validated and signed by a 3rd party accounting firm. The MSPCV has been reviewed by governmental agencies and regulatory bodies across the globe and is used and accepted in 5 continents around the world.

“The MSPCV certification is a rigorous certification process that benchmarks and verifies the quality of the company providing cloud and/or managed services,” said Charles Weaver, MSPAlliance CEO. “We are very proud to have Mainstream Technologies as a member of this elite community of cloud and MSPs.”

John Burgess, President of Mainstream added: “We at Mainstream believe that strong policies implemented through the consistent performance of best practice procedures allows us to provide the highest quality and most secure services to our customers. We are proud to receive this independent validation of the strength of our policies and procedures.”

MSP Verify Program

The UCS consists of 10 control objectives and underlying controls that constitute crucial building blocks of a successful managed services (and cloud computing) practice. Once the provider’s organization has completed all MSPCV documentation on all applicable control objectives (with the assistance of MSPAlliance’s readiness assessments, gap analysis, helpful templates and consulting) the results are then examined by an independent third-party accounting firm for verification and signing of a public facing report

As with any other substantive certification of this type, the MSPCV certification must be renewed annually. The MSPCV was the first certification created specifically for the managed services and cloud industry. The MSPCV has been reviewed by governmental agencies and regulatory bodies across the globe and is used and accepted in 5 continents around the world.

Customers who select a company that is part of the MSPCV can also rest assured that their IT solution provider has met and exceeded the following standards dealing with:

● Objective 1: Governance,
