OpenLegacy Streamlines Data Access for Fortune 100 Global Insurer

OpenLegacy’s Digital-Driven Integration enables organizations with legacy systems to deliver new digital services faster and more efficiently than ever before, so any company can become digital to the core.

OpenLegacy’s Digital-Driven Integration enables organizations with legacy systems to deliver new digital services faster and more efficiently than ever before.

OpenLegacy automated Java code generation, allowing us to reuse it across many interfaces. This has already saved a significant amount of time and money.

OpenLegacy, the market leader in microservice-based APIs for legacy and core systems, recently partnered with a major global insurer to modernize its legacy system to make it more web and mobile friendly. The OpenLegacy solution automates Java code generation, building new workflows in hours instead of weeks.

This diversified global insurer is one of the largest property and casualty insurers in the United States, ranking in the Fortune 100 list of largest corporations in the United States. With nearly $40 billion in annual consolidated revenue, it has almost 1,000 locations worldwide and offers a wide range of insurance products and services.

The organization needed a flexible solution to ensure access for a multitude of users across divisions with thousands of different scenarios. The development team wanted to capture green screen data as code and then reuse the code in specific scenarios for users across all divisions, a perfect fit for OpenLegacy’s technology.

The OpenLegacy platform automatically created reusable software development kits (SDKs) in Java that the insurer uses to transform the green screen process.

OpenLegacy is flexible enough to handle virtually any legacy system or situation, whether connecting to screens; creating APIs to connect legacy systems to any digital solution; or any other applications requiring fast and easy development of APIs and microservices.

“We needed a far more efficient, agile solution to deal with hundreds of screens and thousands of user scenarios,” said the CTO of the insurance company. “OpenLegacy automated Java code generation, allowing us to reuse it across many interfaces. This has already saved a significant amount of time and money.”

The OpenLegacy hybrid integration platform – recently adopted by Fortune 500 companies such as Citi, Union Bank, FIS and BNP Paribas Cardif, among others – automatically generates microservice-based APIs from any core system. It can bypass complex ESB/SOA middleware from legacy vendors and related labor-intensive professional services.

“The insurance company benefits from increased agility, getting on-demand solutions that accelerate development speed while reducing maintenance costs,” said Zeev Avidan, Chief Product Officer of OpenLegacy. “Global enterprises are discovering daily that they are no longer limited by their legacy systems or cumbersome middleware stacks, freeing them to develop the apps their clients’ demand.”

About OpenLegacy

OpenLegacy’s Digital-Driven Integration enables organizations with legacy systems to release new digital services faster and more efficiently than ever before. It connects directly to even the most complex legacy systems, bypassing the need for extra layers of technology. It then automatically generates APIs in minutes, rapidly integrating those assets into new and exciting innovations. Finally, it deploys them as standard microservices or serverless functions, giving organizations speed and flexibility while drastically cutting costs and resources. With OpenLegacy, industry-leading companies release new apps, features, and updates in days instead of months, enabling them to truly become digital to the core. http://www.openlegacy.com.

Formaspace manufactures 500 ESD workbenches in only 18 days for GM’s Kokomo, Indiana facility producing critically important ventilators for Coronavirus patients.

Formaspace announced today that it has completed an initial order of 500 new ESD workbenches destined for General Motors manufacturing facility in Kokomo, Indiana, where GM and Ventec Life Systems are partnering to produce Ventec critical care ventilators in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Formaspace received the urgent request from GM on March 22, 2020, and put the resources of the entire company toward one goal: delivering as fast as possible. The first truckload of ESD workbenches departed the Formaspace factory in Austin for Indiana three days later, with subsequent truckloads shipping out each day until the initial order was completed on April 9.

“We were able to respond quickly to this urgent request from GM because we manufacture all our custom industrial furniture using American-sourced steel and other raw materials from the USA at our factory headquarters in Austin, Texas,” says Jeff Turk, Formaspace CEO. “Now that this initial order is complete, we are utilizing our newly increased production capacity to speed up delivery of non-healthcare critical projects, and expect those orders will be completed within a few days. I hope you will support us as we do our part to help healthcare providers respond to the COVID-19 pandemic.”

The assembly operations at the 100,000 sq ft facility in Kokomo span three floors of the building and feature a cleanroom area and two production lines.

The 500 new workbenches supplied by Formaspace will be used for assembling the delicate electronic components. Each of the workbenches features work surfaces with full coverage ESD protection (to suppress static electric shocks that could damage sensitive microelectronics), built-in parts bins, heavy-duty white powder-coated steel frames, integrated overhead lighting, and 8 plug power strips.

“Every ventilator we build can help save lives, and GM’s global supply base and manufacturing teams, the UAW, and the Kokomo community are working with passion and unwavering commitment to get the job done,” said Gerald Johnson, GM executive vice president, Global Manufacturing. “People have moved mountains to help increase the production of Ventec’s critical care ventilator. I have never seen anything like it in my career.”

According to Frank Bucher, Formaspace EVP of Sales and Marketing, “Our production facility is open and able to respond to the needs of our customers who are constructing new facilities or making changes to their existing operations, including manufacturing facilities, material handling, and distribution centers, pharma and healthcare laboratories, or primary, secondary, and university educational facilities. Pleora and Neurocle Simplify AI Training and Deployment with Plug and Play Solution for Visual Inspection

Pleora AI Gateway

AI Gateway “no code” Inspection plug-In significantly reduces development and deployment efforts for advanced classification, segmentation, and detection capabilities

Pleora’s AI Gateway and plug-in skills help organizations quickly realize the business benefits of machine learning, without costly, time-consuming algorithm development or replacing existing infrastructure

Pleora Technologies and Neurocle today announced a technology partnership that simplifies the deployment of deep learning-based classification, segmentation, and object detection capabilities for visual inspection applications. Lead customers are evaluating the AI Gateway and Inspection plug-in developed with Neurocle to reduce errors, false-positives, and secondary screenings in packaging, pharmaceutical, and finished goods analysis applications.

“Pleora’s AI Gateway and plug-in skills help organizations quickly realize the business benefits of machine learning, without costly, time-consuming algorithm development or replacing existing infrastructure,” said Jonathan Hou, Chief Technology Officer, Pleora Technologies. “Working with partners including Neurocle, we’re delivering a unique evolutionary approach to AI that enables quick deployment and continuous training to improve results and lower costs of visual inspection and quality control.”

With the Pleora AI Gateway and Inspection plug-In, end-users and integrators can deploy machine learning visual inspection capabilities without any additional programming. Images and data are simply uploaded to Neurocle’s Neuro-T, deep learning vision software which supports a unique “Auto Deep Learning” technology with predefined parameters optimized for the NVIDIA GPU in Pleora’s AI Gateway. With Pleora’s “no code” approach, AI models are transferred and deployed on the AI Gateway for production environments. In comparison to this plug and play approach, traditional AI algorithm development requires multiple time-consuming steps and dedicated coding to input images, label defects, fine-tune training, and optimize models.

The AI Gateway handles image acquisition from any vision standard-compliant image source and sends out the processed data over GigE Vision to inspection and analysis platforms. This means end-users can avoid vendor lock-in while maintaining infrastructure, processes, and analysis software.

In a quality inspection application, for example, the AI Gateway intercepts the camera image feed and applies the selected Inspection plug-in skills. The gateway then sends the AI processed data to the inspection application, which seamlessly receives the video as if it were still connected directly to the camera. Similarly, the AI Gateway can process imaging data with loaded plug-in skills in parallel to traditional processing tools. If a defect is detected, processed video from the AI Gateway can confirm or reject results as a secondary inspection.

“Neuro-T is a user-friendly approach that enables deep learning for visual inspection with just a few clicks,” said Hongsuk Lee, Chief Executive Officer, Neurocle. “Developing a plug-in solution for the Pleora AI Gateway, we’re making inspection systems plug and play, enabling automation for manual quality control checks and improving performance of existing systems with deep learning technology.”

Pleora’s AI Gateway provides additional plug-in AI skills for hyperspectral imaging, with the processing flexibility of an NVIDIA GPU to deploy open source or custom algorithms developed in popular frameworks like TensorFlow and OpenCV. Intuiface Introduces Computer Vision Capabilities Using Intel® Distribution of the OpenVINO™ Toolkit

Intuiface introduces computer vision using Intel distribution of the OpenVINO toolkit

Intuiface introduces computer vision using Intel distribution of the OpenVINO toolkit

With the help of Intel, computer vision is no longer an insurmountable hurdle for teams lacking the skills, budget, or time to adopt commercial computer vision solutions.

Intuiface is excited to announce native support for the Intel® Distribution of the OpenVINO™ toolkit (OpenVINO toolkit), enabling creative teams to incorporate computer vision in their on-premises digital experiences without having to write a single line of code. With virtually no setup and with any camera, Intuiface experiences on a Windows PC can now capture age, gender, emotion, and head pose for one or more individuals in real-time, and use the resulting data feed to dynamically select, display – and record for analytics – digital content tailored for predefined demographic and emotional combinations. The result is deeply personalized content delivered on-demand for any audience.

The world of digital signage is evolving from impersonal, schedule-driven media to the delivery of highly customized content tailored for the individual. In the world of retail, for example, shoppers have grown accustomed to the use of websites and mobile apps to personalize the process of shopping, learning, and finding inspiration. True completion of the customer journey requires in-store kiosks to meet and exceed the same level of personalization. Sensors at the edge – customer-facing devices tasked with detecting information and events nearby, like speech, movement, demographics, and more – are key to making on-premise personalization possible. Next generation digital signage is characterized in part by its ability to integrate with and orchestrate these sensors.

Intuiface, already equipped with out-of-the-box support for a wide variety of sensors and interactive options, now works with the OpenVINO toolkit to add computer vision capabilities. The installation of the OpenVINO toolkit has been simplified to one-step. Once running, the OpenVINO toolkit sends a real-time stream of information to Intuiface Player on the same or a different PC. This includes information about the number of people facing the camera and the age, gender, emotion, and head pose of each individual. Without any coding, Intuiface experiences can be configured to perform actions based on the information captured by the OpenVINO toolkit. For example, displaying one advertisement for a young female viewer while displaying a separate advertisement for an older male viewer. Or enabling content navigation and manipulation through the use of head movement.

“With the help of Intel, computer vision is no longer an insurmountable hurdle for teams lacking the skills, budget, or time to adopt commercial computer vision solutions,“ says Vincent Encontre, Intuiface’s COO. “Our customers will be amazed at how quickly and easily Intuiface’s new OpenVINO toolkit integration will enable them to create interactive content driven by the unique characteristics of each user.”

This is the first distribution of OpenVINO toolkit-based computer vision made available to creative agencies, integrators, and similar internal corporate teams who wish to create demographic and emotion-driven digital content but don’t have the skills, time, or budget to write complex custom code. With the Intuiface integration, everything works out of the box, simple enough for even the most non-technical teams. And all data – from computer vision information to on-screen selections made by users – can be stored online and visualized using Intuiface Analytics to identify trends and generate insight about the target audience and how their preferences align with their characteristics.

The OpenVINO toolkit is optimized for use on Intel-based Windows PCs, resulting in rapid response time and reduced resource consumption. And because it is a free addition to Intuiface, experience creators can adopt computer vision without concerns about budget or delay.

Certrec’s Fatigue Rule Management System Now Ensures Compliance with NRC’s Alternate Work Hour Controls

News Image

“In a time when so much is unknown and unpredictable, we want to facilitate compliance with these new rules because we know our clients are focused on public health and safety,” states Kayla Krynski, Project Coordinator.

Certrec, a leading provider for nuclear compliance and advanced on-line solutions, announced today that pandemic controls have been built into its Fatigue Rule Management System (FRMS).

On March 28th, the NRC issued a letter regarding alternate work hour controls and later that week, a FAQ page was available online. Certrec acted swiftly in response to the letter and developed pandemic alternate work hour controls that are now ready to be deployed and used at nuclear sites across the country.

“In a time when so much is unknown and unpredictable, we want to facilitate compliance with these new rules because we know our clients are focused on public health and safety,” states Kayla Krynski, Project Coordinator. “Within a week of the letter, we added the new rules into our existing FRMS platform so our clients have an easy-to-use platform that will relieve them of the burden of calculating the new work hour controls.”

The platform is now live and nuclear plants can be onboarded very quickly. The tool is fully supported by Certrec’s support staff, covers the four main rules outlined in the letter, and has training ready to make the change as seamless as possible. As with all of our other tools, Pandemic FRMS (pFRMS) is web-based, so there is nothing to install on servers or computers and it can be accessed without a VPN from anywhere you have a browser and internet. It was developed using our ISO 27001 Quality Program and is delivered from our state-of-the-art US based infrastructure to assure the best quality and security.

“One of our main goals at Certrec is to help solve our client’s problems so they can focus on other important tasks,” noted Michelle Thomas, Executive Director of Operations. “With our FRMS being released earlier this year, it made sense for us to add the alternate work hour controls as an option for clients to use during this temporary time of need. We are very excited to have this available so quickly and look forward to supporting nuclear plants as we continue to navigate these uncharted waters.”

With Certrec, your regulatory compliance work is done once and done right.

Leading Digital Identity Platform Bloom Releases Free Credit Score Monitoring and Smart Identity

News Image

Today, Bloom announces the release of version 2 of the Bloom mobile app for iOS and Android. Bloom is releasing free credit monitoring, robust data breach monitoring, and enhanced smart identity features to nearly 1 million users.

With Bloom, new credit monitoring and smart identity features give users the power to protect their identity and manage their credit all in one place. Bloom has partnered with TransUnion to provide a robust credit monitoring product. Dao Boyle, SVP of Business Development at TransUnion Consumer Interactive, said, “We’re excited to partner with Bloom to provide consumers with access to their free credit information. A critical part of TransUnion’s mission is to empower consumers to better understand and manage their data and shape their financial lives. This partnership supports that mission, and we look forward to continue working with Bloom to deliver innovative and impactful solutions to consumers.”

Along with credit and data breach monitoring, Bloom’s smart identity solution helps prevent predatory third parties from accessing user data and greatly reduces the risk of identity theft. “Until now, consumers had to use an array of different services to monitor their credit and manage their identity, many of which are offered by the very companies that leaked or sold their data without consent in the first place. Bloom’s mission is to empower people to take back control of their data and protect their identity. Today’s release helps make that a reality,” said Bloom spokesperson, Shannon Wu.

Bloom is building groundbreaking technology and workflows for the everyday person, providing an innovative alternative to conventional identity platforms. By delivering a secure and inclusive alternative, Bloom has grown to become the largest decentralized identity platform in the world.

Despite the hype of blockchain, many of the innovations require deep technical understanding and interfacing directly with blockchain ledgers. These complicated user experiences inhibit adoption and growth. Bloom makes it possible for anyone with an iOS or Android device to finally harness the power of blockchain without the need for technical knowledge or cryptocurrency.

The initial launch of the Bloom mobile app marked a revolution in the way that individuals control their data. Since then, the Bloom mobile app has been downloaded over 1 million times, as consumers have grown more concerned about protecting their identity in the wake of massive data breaches and intensifying identity theft.

Today’s app launch follows the announcement that Geoffrey Arone, former Chief Scientist for the consumer division at Experian, has joined Bloom as COO and the addition of Victor Nichols, former CEO of Experian North America, as an advisor to Bloom. The addition of Geoffrey and Victor further cement Bloom as a leader in the digital identity market and will propel the company forward in its mission of putting identity and data back in the control of consumers.

In the modern era of intensifying data breaches, privacy intrusions, and surveillance concerns, it’s essential to have a decentralized, privacy-focused alternative to centralized service providers such as Facebook and Google. Unlike these companies, data security and privacy are at the heart of Bloom’s emission.

Bloom’s recent release provides a smart identity and an all-in-one command center for identity management to people around the world, many of whom lack access to traditional financial markets and identity documentation, all for free.

From the Bloom mobile app, consumers can:

  • Monitor their credit
  • Own and control their data
  • Build a secure, reusable identity
  • Receive data breach alerts
  • Get actionable insights into credit and identity
  • File data breach settlement claims
  • Securely share their data and apply for credit
  • Login to websites and apps without the need for passwords

Bloom is paving the way for consumer ownership of data and identity, providing inclusive, privacy-preserving technology to millions of people who can not currently access credit or traditional financial markets.

With more than a million mobile app installs and 8.5 years in session time in 2019, Bloom is the largest decentralized identity platform in the world. More than 40+ apps have been built on or integrated Bloom.

Credly’s Acclaim platform is the world’s largest network of individuals and organizations using verified achievements to unlock opportunities.

“We are dedicated to equipping our students with the tools they need to achieve professional success,” said Jane Swan, CEO of Reach Cyber Charter School. “That’s why we have partnered with Credly. It can be difficult to articulate your skills in a series of bullet points on a resume. This new service will provide students with a web-enabled, verifiable version of industry certifications, which will help them enhance their resumes, digital portfolios, and LinkedIn pages.”

The goal of Reach Cyber’s new digital badging program is to prepare students to reach professional status prior to graduation, allowing them to begin their professional careers earlier than some of their brick-and-mortar counterparts. This skill-based training will also allow students to find their passion and hone in on skills and interests as they look to join the workforce.

“We are seeing companies across a variety of industries turn to skills-based hiring as a way to more readily identify and connect with qualified candidates,” said Jonathan Finkelstein, CEO of Credly. “Reach Cyber Charter School is providing an invaluable tool in the form of a verified record of their students’ knowledge and skills. These early digital credentials will serve Reach Cyber students over the course of their burgeoning careers.”

Serving students virtually across the state of Pennsylvania, Reach Cyber Charter School delivers an award-winning curriculum with STEM enrichment opportunities, engaging electives, technology tools, and online and in-person social experiences for families who want an individualized approach to education. Reach Cyber’s flexible pacing options allow students to choose from a traditional calendar option, year-round option, or for high school students, an accelerated schedule, to best meet their academic and scheduling needs.

Reach Cyber is currently enrolling for the 2020-21 school year. Families interested in Reach Cyber Charter School are highly encouraged to attend an upcoming online information session. These information sessions give families the opportunity to speak with current teachers and staff, learn more about the school’s curriculum and program, and help them find out if a cyber school is the right fit for their student.
