WORX Introduces 40V Nitro Driveshare Attachment-Capable Grass Trimmer With Brushless Motor and New Power Share Pro High-Capacity Battery


WORX Nitro 40V Power Share Pro Driveshare Grass Trimmer

The new WORX® Nitro 40V Power Share Pro 15 in. Driveshare Attachment-Capable Grass Trimmer features a split-shaft design to fit four universal attachments (sold separately), including a 17 in. hedge trimmer, 10 in. brush cutter, 10 in. pole saw and lawn edger with 8 in. blade. The Driveshare compatible system features a powerful, high-performance, brushless motor and two WORX 20V Power Share Pro 4.0Ah batteries to deliver 40V of power.

The 40V Power Share Pro, 15 in. Driveshare Grass Trimmer is part of the new WORX Nitro line of performance-driven outdoor power equipment, engineered with brushless motors for maintenance-free operation with high-performance batteries to run longer and work harder.

The WORX Power Share Pro batteries provide improved power protection and run time through an intelligent battery management system with cell-cooling technology. Each battery’s cells are wrapped in thermoplastic material to dissipate heat and maximize power and performance.

The Driveshare grass trimmer marks the first time WORX has offered an attachment-capable grass trimmer. In fact, the WORX Nitro Driveshare trimmer and its optional attachments are compatible with other major brands of attachment-capable trimmers, and vice versa. And, although WORX Nitro Power Share Pro batteries are engineered to work with WORX Nitro lawn and garden and DIY tools, they also are compatible with more than 35 other lawn and garden and DIY tools in the WORX Power Share program.

“The trimmer’s system approach eliminates the need to purchase five separate tools,” said Pete Denley, WORX Senior Product Manager. “This is a multi-functional product, without the compromises. The attachments offer incredible performance allowing users to attack pretty much anything on their property.”

The grass trimmer has a variable-speed trigger with eco mode to maximize performance and control. The trimmer uses a bump-feed, line advance system. Professional grade .095 in. line is used in the dual-exit trimmer.

The two WORX Nitro 20V 4.0Ah Power Share Pro batteries each have electronic charge level indicators to monitor charge levels. The dual-port charger brings both batteries to a full charge in two hours.

The optional WORX Nitro 17 in. Hedge Trimmer attachment (WA0220) features dual-action cutting blades. The trimmer’s 10-position cutting head pivots in multiple angles to maximize performance when trimming and shaping a variety of species, including boxwood, yews, shrubs and bushes. The smooth-cutting, dual-action blades minimize vibration and help reduce operator fatigue, especially during extended use periods. The 17 in. hedge trimmer blades provide enough clearance to cut through stems or branches to nearly one inch in diameter. It has an overall reach of up to 10 ft.

The WORX Nitro 10 in. Brush Cutter Attachment (WA0221) features a 10 in. hi-speed, steel blade to cut through thick brush. The 3.9 lb. shaft and blade attachment is easy to connect. Once connected, the brush cutter blade spins at 6700 rpm (no-load) to pick up where conventional grass trimmers leave off by cutting through dense brush in the landscape. The trimmer’s long shaft maximizes reach for added control and efficiency.

Adding the WORX Nitro 10 in. Pole Saw Attachment (WA0222) provides added reach and the ability to trim tree branches and those down from storms. It’s also handy for thinning out trees, and bushes. The 4.06 lb. 10 in. pole saw has an extended reach of 12.5 ft. The pole saw features automatic chain lubrication for maximum efficiency and long life for both bar and chain. The chain’s speed is 55.8 ft. per second with a 3/8 in. pitch.

The optional WORX Nitro Lawn Edger Attachment (WA0223) is ideal for delivering clean, straight edges for a professional, manicured look along sidewalks, driveways and patios. The edger incorporates an 8 in. blade with a maximum cutting depth of up to 2.5 in. A rear 4.25 in. diameter adjustable guide wheel helps enable straight edges. The blade also can be used for trenching and can be sharpened for extended life.

The WORX Nitro 40V Power Share Pro, 15 in. Driveshare Attachment-Capable Grass Trimmer (WG186, $329.99) and optional attachments (see below) are available at worx.com. Lightning Labels grows Creative Team with new in-house Senior Graphic Designer to offer expanded customer support


Some clients want to explore a wide variety of options, looks and effects. Others know exactly what they want, so I create it the way they want it—with suggestions as warranted along the way. There’s no one-size-fits-all when it comes to graphic design and its relationship to printed labels.

Lightning Labels, full-color custom labels and custom stickers digital printer, has added fulltime Senior Graphic Designer Don Alles to their expanding team.

Alles, a longtime print design and printing specialist, joined Lightning Labels in response to client inquiries about in-house graphic design capabilities.

“We found somebody who knows all major aspects of print and label graphic design, and can address printing from a total-experience perspective—everything from how lighting reflects off of a label to designing in a way that makes a product pop out from everything else,” says Gary Paulin, Lightning Labels VP, Sales & Client Services.

Alles has extensive print experience. Besides graphic design, he’s worked in prepress and bindery, operated a digital web press and four-color Heidelberg quick press, and served as a Production Work Flow Manager. That diversity of experience comes in handy to understand all issues involved in printing and fulfilling high-quality label orders.

Alles also is well-versed in digital design. Digital design projects range from designing a website for a lobbyist group at the State Capitol to trucking company promotion and communications efforts.

He does a deep dive with clients to determine their preferences and tolerances before starting the design process. “I read the room. A big part of my job is to tap into client decision-making processes and how to help create a great-looking label. I’m working for them, and am invested in their satisfaction and retention,” Alles says.

He adds, “Some clients want to explore a wide variety of options, looks and effects. Others know exactly what they want, so I create it the way they want it—with suggestions as warranted along the way. There’s no one-size-fits-all when it comes to graphic design and its relationship to printed labels.”

Sometimes, the challenge with a particular label doesn’t arise until later in the selection process. Notes Alles, “On a recent job, I preferred a clear label. The client wanted white. The label looked bad on white when we did the press proof. So, we teamed up and decided to go with the clear label, and changed most copy to white with the logos and some copy over a white layer. The final product really popped!”

While vibrant and impactful, reflective chrome labels also have limitations. Asks Alles, “The label can look really cool, but how does it hold up under certain lighting?

Alles’ penchant for graphic design started at an early age. He notes, “I’ve always been an artist, painting and drawing. Ultimately, I studied commercial graphic design and have been doing it ever since.”

Two issues Alles encounters frequently are:

  • 1. Amount of copy. As a rule, keep it to a minimum. Prioritize size requirements for QR codes, barcodes and the like—along with needed ingredients, supplement facts and disclaimers. By keeping the label “uncluttered,” consumers will be more likely to examine the product.
  • 2. Professional look and feel. In most industries, professional and polished looks are replacing homespun. Labels should reflect the professional, high-quality nature of product contents. This helps establish consumer trust and comfort with a product.


When not creating artwork, Alles creates music. A longtime musician, singer and songwriter, he continues to perform with an Americana-style band called Scarecrow Revival at Colorado front range venues. “We play mostly original songs, and have appeared at many breweries. Now, with the pandemic easing, we’re ramping up in new venues. We recently played on a patio for the first time in months.”

MSI’S Charitable Trust Donates 100 Refurbished iPads to the Orange Senior Center

We are hoping to help seniors connect to the world and improve the quality of their life, especially during the pandemic. MSI volunteers will conduct seminars for the seniors, teaching them how to use this technology to its fullest capacity, said Raj Shah, President of MSI.

TwinWorld Teases Latest Update At World IT Show 2021

Holographic reality capture startup DoubleMe, Inc. demonstrated its social mixed reality platform TwinWorld during last week’s World IT Show 2021 (WIS 2021), the biggest ICT Exhibition in Korea, hosted by the Korean Ministry of Science and ICT.

More than 600 people visited the TwinWorld booth, which provided visitors with Microsoft HoloLens 2 headsets to access an exclusive preview of TwinWorld’s upcoming release.

Upon putting on the HoloLens 2, visitors were transported to a holographic world filled with astronauts, airplanes, and ladybugs. Workers guided visitors through how to interact with these holograms, and in a follow-up survey, guests commented that the technology was “amazing!” and the holograms were “very cute.”

In the near future, the free TwinWorld beta application will feature multiplayer integration, new 3D assets, real-time sharing and more that will allow anyone to “create, share and enjoy life beyond reality.”

The company was showcased at SK Telecom’s exhibition booth, which presented 5G-enabled innovative technologies and services related to AI (artificial intelligence) and the metaverse.

Charlie Lee, VP of Open Collaboration at SK Telecom said, “We believe a real-world metaverse like the TwinWorld platform can revolutionize immersive experiences as it brings the virtual into reality.”

In total, 35,000 people attended the 3-day exhibition held at the COEX Convention & Exhibition Center, which was attended by 500 companies, including Samsung, LG and Huaweii.
