Medico Sports Fashion GmbH Partners with Centric Software® for Centralized, Cross-Border Collaboration

Medico Sports Fashion GmbH Partners with Centric Software® for Centralized, Cross-Border Collaboration

Medico Sports Fashion GmbH Partners with Centric Software® for Centralized, Cross-Border Collaboration

With Centric PLM, we have equipped MEDICO for the future and can efficiently develop FILA, Tamaris and future brands to come.

German functional sportswear brand, Medico Sports Fashion GmbH (MEDICO), has selected Centric Software‘s Product Lifecycle Management (PLM). Centric Software provides the most innovative enterprise solutions to plan, design, develop, source and sell products such as apparel, footwear, sporting goods, furniture, home décor, cosmetics, food & beverage and luxury to achieve strategic and operational digital transformation goals.

MEDICO is part of the family-owned JCK group, and has stood for functional sportswear for over 100 years. The company became known internationally in the 1960s following its invention of a turtleneck ski jumper called the “ski-rolli”. Following numerous subsequent innovations, MEDICO is renowned worldwide as a leading product developer in the sport and outdoor segment.

Over the last 10 years, MEDICO has been awarded the license rights for FILA footwear, apparel and accessories across Continental Europe. The business now manages the collection development and production control of their joint venture suppliers in Bangladesh, as well as sales and building up the FILA distribution network in Europe. MEDICO has also recently been awarded the textile license for TAMARIS apparel and accessories. The new partnership begins with the spring/summer 2023 season.

Due to their association with FILA, a major international brand which has seen a huge comeback in recent years, in addition to developing TAMARIS and their own proprietary label, MEDICO soon found themselves drowning in offline, manual processes, such as Excel spreadsheets, PowerPoint presentations, design documents, contracts, emails and more. The company had to significantly ramp up their design and production processes to keep up with demand.

“We saw the need for greater product development and production standardization to shorten our lead time and meet market requirements. We wanted more reliable product information with fewer errors, and a way to eliminate our manual and decentralized ways of working,” says Medico.

In order to manage their processes more effectively, MEDICO made the decision to leave offline documents behind and enter the world of PLM. Their evaluation process was highly pragmatic and they reached out to Centric Software to find out how Centric’s out-of-the-box, cloud-integrated PLM solution could help to improve their workflows.

The benefits of adopting Centric PLM™ were immediately apparent, such as its intuitive and easy-to-use interface, and enabling teams to collaborate between the company HQ in Germany, the footwear division in the Netherlands and the offices in Far East and Turkey.

“We evaluated a few PLM solutions, but we chose Centric for its robustness, intuitiveness and flexible user interface. With Centric PLM we will be able to manage all our products including textiles and accessories as well as shoes on one centralized platform. We expect to see optimization of our time and resources, cutting down steps in our internal and external processes.”

MEDICO is now looking forward to the future with Centric and the ever-increasing ease and efficiency of having all product data combined in one easy to use solution.

“With Centric PLM, we have equipped MEDICO for the future and can efficiently develop FILA, Tamaris and future brands to come.”

“Centric Software is thrilled to partner with such a well-regarded German sportswear brand. We look forward to working with MEDICO to achieve their digital transformation goals and keep pace with the high demand for its products,” comments Chris Groves, President and CEO of Centric Software.

Keychron launches Q8: Alice-style custom mechanical keyboard

News Image

At Keychron we’re all about typing comfort, so it was important for us to add an Alice-style keyboard to our offering. This layout appeals to many typists because it allows them to angle their hands and wrists in a more natural position.

Today Keychron, established manufacturer of wireless mechanical keyboards for Mac, Windows and Android, launched direct sales of Q8 on the brand’s website. This model is a full aluminum mechanical keyboard in the visually striking, ergo style 65% Alice layout. Four versions are available: barebone is $175 USD, barebone knob is $185 USD, fully assembled is $195 USD, and fully assembled knob is $205 USD.

“Wrists can be angled unnaturally on traditional keyboards causing strain on muscles and a host of issues for typists,” said Paul Tan, COO of Keychron. “At Keychron we’re all about typing comfort, so it was important for us to add an Alice-style keyboard to our offering. This layout appeals to many typists because it has a space that visually separates the board into two halves with the keys extending outwards in a wingspan-shaped form allowing users to angle their hands and wrists in a more natural position.”

With its all-metal CNC machined body, a full-size layout, double-gasket design, QMK/VIA support, south-facing RGB, and knob option, the Q8 meets practical needs and provides a high-end typing experience. The entire metal body is crafted with 6063 aluminum that is processed through CNC machine, polished, anodized, sandblasted, and undergoes 24 more manufacturing stages to make the solid metal piece of art that is the Q8. A brand new ultra-low-power MCU Arm structure is armed with 128K Flash to provide more flexibility for developers. The polling rate is up to 1000 Hz out of the box, which makes latency non-existent for the competitive gamer.

“We designed every component of Q8 to be easily assembled, so users can adjust the keyboard to their needs,” continued Tan. “The premium rotary encoder allows users to easily customize their favorite keys and macros on the knob through the VIA software such as: zooming in/out, adjusting screen brightness, brush size, volume, and selecting video clips or photos. The open-source firmware means endless possibilities for keyboard layouts, shortcuts, backlight effects, and more.”

The Double Gasket Design is a new innovative structure in the industry. In addition to the gaskets on the plates, Keychron added silicone pads between the top and bottom cases to significantly reduce the sound resonance between the metals and reduce the noise of the impacted metals. This design allows the keyboard to maintain the flexibility of the gasket structure and improves the overall typing sound.

For the new double-shot PBT keycaps, Keychron built a new profile called the OSA (OEM spherical angled) keycap. It has a similar height to the OEM profile and has an SA-like shape. The PBT keycaps provide excellent oil resistance, enhance the type feel, and prevent the legends from fading out.

The hot-swappable sockets are mounted on the PCB, so users can install or change the switches without soldering. The PCB supports both three- and five-pin MX mechanical switches. The optimized molded switch with more precise positioning and less wobble will undoubtedly improve the feel at the user’s fingertips. With the fully assembled Q8 version fitted with factory pre-lubricated Gateron G Pro switches providing a smoother travel experience. The screw-in design increases stability and makes it easier for changes and upgrades.

Built with the Mac users’ experience in mind while still retaining compatibility for Windows devices, the Keychron Q8 comes with a system toggle and an additional set of customized keycaps for both Windows and macOS systems. Users can now save two different layouts on the keyboard, one for each system.

Media wishing to interview Keychron personnel should contact PR agent Borjana Slipicevic at borjana@properpropaganda.net

About Keychron

Keychron was formed in 2017 by a group of keyboard enthusiasts, designers, marketers, and production experts. The founding team members, Will Ye and Sven Zhu have a combined 20 years of experience in keyboard production and industrial design. They’ve dedicated themselves to creating the most sophisticated mechanical keyboards with minimalist design. To date, the team has successfully launched and fulfilled 20 mechanical keyboards to customers in 80 countries.

ACCES I/O Products Announces a new line of powerful PCI Express Mini Card (mPCIe) and M.2 Multifunction Analog I/O Cards (26 COTS Models!) with Speeds up to 2MHz

AccesI/O Products, Inc.

ACCES I/O Products announces the immediate release of two new embedded PCI Express-based families of high performance and low-cost analog I/O cards – the mPCIe-AIO Family and the M.2-AIO Family. These innovative families of 16-bit and 12-bit ADC cards start with the flagship models, the mPCIe-AIO16-16FDS and the M.2- AIO16-16FDS (NVME compatible!).

ACCES’ mPCIe and M.2 high-speed, 16-bit multifunction analog input/output cards are ideal for precision measurement, analysis, monitoring, and control in countless embedded applications found in rugged or industrial environments. Each design can sample inputs at speeds up to 2Msps for the board’s 16 single-ended or 8 differential analog input channels (1MHz acquired simultaneously on each of two analog input paths). Standard features include four 16-bit analog outputs and two high-current digital I/O lines — all contained on the ultra-small mPCIe F1 or M.2 2260/2280 embedded form factors. Striking an excellent price/performance balance, these families also include models with slower A/D speeds, optional analog outputs, and lower performance 12-bit modules, for less demanding applications.

Each form factor offers over a dozen models with list prices ranging from only $299 to $839, an unprecedented value in such a small package. The cards feature seven software-selectable per-channel analog voltage input ranges, including 4-20mA current inputs (factory option). This channel-by-channel programmable gain feature enables measurement of an assortment of large and small signals in one scan—all under software control at up to 1MHz. Two simultaneously sampling ADCs provide unique benefits in multi-channel vibration and transient analysis, and the 4 kSample FIFO+DMA-driven data is optimum where high data rates must be sustained for short—or long— periods of time.

The four analog outputs each have five software selectable ranges and can drive up to 10mA. The flagship FDS models add hardware-paced 8 kSample FIFO+DMA-driven Streaming Waveform Playback on one, two, three, or all four DACs, at any aggregate rate up to 1Msps.

The two pulled-up digital I/O pins can be used independently as simple input or output, external ADC trigger, ADC start conversion, DAC trigger (LDAC), watchdog status output, and more!

The cards have been designed for use in harsh and rugged environments such as military and defense along with consumer/industrial applications such as medical, point of sale systems, kiosk design, retail, hospitality, automation, gaming and more.

Key features of the mPCIe-AIO and M.2-AIO Families include:

  • PCI Express Mini Card (mPCIe) Type F1 or M.2 Type B/M 2260/2280, with latching I/O connector
  • 2× 16-bit, bipolar, differential, A/D converters sampling at up to 1MHZ, simultaneously (2Msps)
  • Software selectable as 16+0, 8+4, or 0+8 (single-ended + differential inputs)
  • Seven channel-by-channel Programmable differential input ranges from ±0.3125V up to ±12V
  • A/D starts via software, external input, or periodic timer
  • A/D “scan start” mode optimizes inter-channel timing, reducing skew
  • High Impedance, 16-channel input: 500 MΩ
  • 4 kSample FIFO+DMA for efficient, robust data streaming
  • Two digital I/O with flexible secondary functions
  • Four 16-bit analog outputs with optional 8 kSample FIFO+DMA Waveform Streaming
