Cybereason’s New ‘Game Changers’ Partner Investments are the Most Lucrative in the Cybersecurity Industry

Cybereason couldn’t be more happy with several newly signed strategic partnerships including Datacentrix and Securelink, as they are an integral part of our expansion. Both partners offer great value in their respective regions,” said Ghazal Asif, Senior Vice President Worldwide Channels, Cybereason

Cybereason, creators of the leading Cyber Defense Platform, today announced several new investments to its partner program, including the launch of Game Changers, a new tier for its most strategic partners. In addition, the company launched Catch30, a new pilot program that can earn the company’s most strategic partners up to 30 percent resale margin to help them drive profitability, services pull through and bring value to mutual customers.

Partners need deep cybersecurity expertise to join Game Changers. Since Ghazal Asif joined Cybereason in January, 2019 as Senior Vice President of Worldwide Channels, the company has signed several new strategic partners, including Datacentrix and Securelink. Cybereason will announce additional partnerships in the weeks ahead with value added resellers, system integrators and MSSPs.

Cybereason recently raised $200 million in new capital from SoftBank Group Corp. to disrupt the Endpoint Protection Platform market and to aggressively expand its partner program. Cybereason will also build the world’s first full stack offering for truly Autonomous Security.

“Cybereason is committed to providing our most strategic partners with differentiated and highly lucrative incentives to help them grow their Cybereason business. Our new offering is hands down the best the cybersecurity industry has to offer as we want our partners to deepen profitability, provide sticky services while solving the most complex security risks for our joint customers,” said Asif. “We have added several enablement tracks and certifications to help our partners take our platform to market. “Datacentrix is pleased to partner with Cybereason to bring additional value to our industry-leading Security Operations Centre (SOC), which monitors and defends customer ICT environments in real-time against any potential security threats. In today’s cyber security landscape, it is clear that organizations – both at a local level and across the globe – face an increasingly sophisticated set of risks and threats to their businesses. Cybereason’s full suite of endpoint detection and response (EDR), next-generation antivirus (NGAV) and active monitoring technology and services, and its dedication to growing local market share has us excited about the future of our partnership,” said Wayne Olsen, Head of Security Business Unit, Datacentrix.

By leveraging the Cyber Defense Platform and program approach, partners can fast track new, high-demand service offerings and provide their customers with a holistic managed solution that addresses their unique needs. MDR-in-a-Box addresses significant demand from Cybereason’s mid-market and enterprise customers who understand that today’s cybersecurity defenses are not sufficient, and want a more robust 24×7 solution that address’s all their security.

RetroHunt: Cybereason’s new product enables security analysts to go back in time and answer conclusively whether they are impacted by a cyberattack and understand the timeline of low and slow cyber attacks which can go back in time months or years. In addition, RetroHunt helps solve the data retention challenge for compliance requirements as well as being able to understand the full attack lifecycle.

“Cybereason couldn’t be more happy with several newly signed strategic partnerships including Datacentrix and Securelink, as they are an integral part of our record growth and expansion. Both partners offer tremendous value in their respective regions. We’re launching our rolling thunder campaign to announce additional partners and I couldn’t be happier with all of them,” said Asif.

CS Energy Projects in New Jersey, Rhode Island and Utah Selected for Prestigious Industry Awards

CS Energy (formerly Conti Solar) a leading integrated energy company that develops, designs and builds optimized projects in the solar, storage and emerging energy industries, announced that three of the company’s projects have been selected as winners in “The 2019 Engineering News Record (ENR) Regional Best Projects Awards.”. Independent juries of industry leaders in design and construction from each of ENR’s 10 regional editions judge construction projects using five criteria, including safety, innovation and teamwork.

For the ENR New York region, Cinnaminson Landfill Solar Farm, located in Cinnaminson, New Jersey, was selected as “Best Project” in the Energy/Industrial category. Built over a Superfund site, 13.0 MW project is part of PSE&G’s “Solar 4 All” program, which is concentrating on turning landfills and brownfields green by building solar farms on otherwise unusable sites. The Cinnaminson Landfill Solar project now has the capacity to power about 3,500 homes with clean energy. This project is a stellar example of how previously untenable space such as a landfill can be converted into a green energy generating field.

For the ENR New England region, the Gold Meadow Farms Solar Project, located in Cranston, Rhode Island, was selected as “Best Project” winner in the Energy/Industrial category. Owned, designed and now operated by Captona Partners and the state’s largest solar installation to date, the 21MW solar farm was developed by Southern Sky Renewable Energy and constructed by CS Energy. Prior to development, the Gold Meadow Farm’s property, (at one time in the past a dairy farm) was unused and overgrown with substantial stone ledge, which presented a challenging environment for solar development. The site now benefits approximate 2,200 Providence, Rhode Island homes by powering them with clean, renewable energy.

For the ENR Mountain States region, Hill Air Force Base Solar, located at the Hill Air Force Base, Utah, was selected as the Merit awardee in the 2019 “Intermountain Best Projects Winners” in the Energy/Industrial category. Energy Systems Group, the Air Force’s Energy Savings Performance Contractor, contracted CS Energy to engineer, procure and construct the 3.55 MW system. The project, which entails the installation of a new solar array at the base, will save the Air Force millions of dollars over the 20+ year lifespan of the system and brings the Air Force Base one step closer to microgrid capability with the potential to expand the project size and capability to add electric storage to the system.

Eric Millard, Chief Commercial Officer, CS Energy, added, “It is an honor to be recognized, especially with very respected and successful EPCs and developers competing in the categories. It truly speaks to the skills, passion for excellence and commitment that our regional teams display on a daily basis.”

Last Call for “Holiday in Humboldt with Hard Luck Mfg. and Friends”

Flyer for Holiday in Humboldt

At “Holiday in Humboldt,” skaters from the local community will join forces with special guests from other parts of California to raise funds for new skateparks in Humboldt County

“Events like Holiday in Humboldt boost the economy and enhance our community,” said Hannah Whyte, Emerald Queen Farms. “We live in Humboldt and are always thinking about ways to help to capture more visitor dollars and enable our rural community to thrive.”

Humboldt Skatepark Collective, along with numerous business sponsors, will host its annual fundraiser, “Holiday in Humboldt with Hard Luck Mfg. and Friends,” on Saturday, September 14 from 10:00 am-6:00 pm PT at Cooper’s Gulch Skatepark, 1720 10th Street in Eureka, CA.

“Humboldt Skatepark Collective is developing a more robust network of skateparks on the North Coast, and boosting awareness of skateboarding as an outdoor recreational sport in Humboldt County,” said Charlie Caldwell, Executive Director, Humboldt Skatepark Collective. “With skateboarding scheduled to debut in the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan, the time has never been better to spread the word about skateboarding as a well-respected and fully embraced sport in Humboldt.”

At Holiday in Humboldt, skaters from the local community will join forces with special guests from other parts of California to raise funds for new skateparks in Humboldt County. The event will feature a professional skating demonstration with a number of high-profile skaters, such as Jason Jessee, Jaws (Aaron Homoki), Evan Smith, Monica Torres, Wes Kremer, Jake Brown, Kiade Huston, Jimmy Cao, Figgy, Chelsea Castro, Chris Blake, Janthavy, Eli Williams, Brian (Slash) Henson, Ethan Loy and many more special guests.

The “Holiday in Humboldt” event is sponsored by a number of leading skate brands, including Hard Luck, Thrasher Magazine, Santa Cruz/NHS Fun Factory, Toy Machine, Vans and Ace Trucks, as well as a number of high-quality craft cannabis producers from Humboldt County, including Emerald Queen Farms, Barrett Farms, Aloha Humboldt, Trinity Sungrown Humboldt Terp Council, Papa and Barkley, and True Humboldt.

“Holiday in Humboldt is our 2nd annual competition and fundraiser, we know from last year’s success that this will become an anticipated event going forward,” said Hannah Whyte, Emerald Queen Farms. “Calling the fundraiser ‘Holiday in Humboldt’ is a play on how we are working to bring the skate community together off the beaten path for a trip to Humboldt, reckoning our community a destination for all things outdoors, including skating. The North Coast is such a beautiful place to live, and this is just one more reason to visit. Events like Holiday in Humboldt boost the economy and enhance our community. We live in Humboldt and care deeply about the health and success of the community, so we are always thinking about ways we can help to capture more visitor dollars and enable our rural community to thrive. This event is about furthering the collective good.”

The event will include a competition for local skaters, along with great food, local craft beer, and music. Dj Goldilocks will be pumping the tunes all Saturday at the event. The mission of Humboldt Skatepark Collective is to develop a more robust network of skateparks on the North Coast, and boost awareness of skateboarding as an outdoor recreational sport in Humboldt County. Finalists for EC-Council Foundation’s 2019 Global Cyberlympics Announced

Global Cyberlympics

Year after year, the Cyberlympics challenges presented to the teams who make the finals are unexpected and impossible to train for.

Events like Cyberlympics provide a consequence-free environment for professionals to push their skills to the limits. Within the confines of the game, players can experiment with creative approaches to problems they may face in the real fight against cyber criminals.

The elimination round of EC-Council Foundation’s worldwide hacking competition, Global Cyberlympics, was held Saturday, September 7 and the top two finalists from each region are invited to attend the finals in the Region of Durham. The elimination round was a grueling, 12-hour test of hacking skills played at the same time around the world.

This year’s competition included but weren’t limited to teams from Deloitte, IBM, Grant Thornton LLP, EY, KPN, the National Bank of Egypt, Accenture, and PwC. Global Cyberlympics players also represented 18 universities and colleges from around the world. The top two teams from each region are invited to play in the in-person finals to be held October 26th in Oshawa, Canada. The teams advancing to the finals are:

North America

1st Place – BisonSquad

2nd Place – 4N0M3LY

South America

1st Place – H3x Pr0ph3ts

2nd Place – Bad Bounty

Asia

1st Place – Bit Thugs

2nd Place – No signal

Australia

1st Place – Scr1pts0nTh3Barb1e

2nd Place – TSS

Europe

1st Place – MapleL33ts

2nd Place – Jobless Hackers

Africa

1st Place – W1ld60yz

2nd Place – Hackwaba Cybersec

Each year, the champion from the previous year automatically qualifies to return and defend their title. The 2018 Champions were a team called Sector C from The Netherlands. This year, since the finals will be hosted in Canada, the top scoring Canadian team will also be invited to the finals to represent Canada. The top scoring Canadian team from the semifinals was YegSec.

The finals will be held in partnership with Canadian company siberX. SiberX is a roaming, customized platform for training, events, and skills development and host of CISO Forum Canada. There is an incredible amount of enthusiasm for the games in the Durham Region, with all 7 cities that make up the region participating in various ways to ensure the 2019 finals are the biggest and best yet. Previous world Finals for the Games have been held in Barcelona, Spain; Washington, DC; Atlanta, GA; and The Hague, Netherlands, making this the first Cyberlympics to be held in Canada.

The Finals will be held at Durham College in Oshawa and the awards ceremony will be hosted at the Special Events Center in Ajax.

Events like Cyberlympics provide a consequence-free environment for professionals to push their skills to the limits. Within the confines of the game, players can experiment with creative approaches to problems they may face in the real fight against cyber criminals. In fact, cyber games require players to try new tools, new techniques, and attacks with a high degree of risk if they hope to win. The best games build challenges that teams have not encountered before, going well beyond capture the flag (CTF) type of events that are common at conferences and online.

Year after year, the Cyberlympics challenges presented to the teams who make the finals are unexpected and impossible to train for. Teams have to rely on their skills and hope their instincts guide them to right solution. For instance, the 2018 Cyberlympics finals started with a set of challenges in a box. The challenges spanned from old school forensics to hacking a Bluetooth lock. What’s was in the box? A plethora of network and building diagrams, a dossier, magazine for some light reading, a Bluetooth dongle, UV light, USB thumb drive and a shredded document.

Teams were required to reassemble their shredded document to retrieve a t0k3n that was left behind. Next, teams needed to determine which printer the dossier came from and where it was located on the network using the UV light and “yellow dot forensics.” Then, without touching the Bluetooth lock, they had to open it using only their computer, a PCAP file and Bluetooth dongle.

Teams that successfully opened the lock were required to demonstrate the methods used in order to receive the networking gear which would get them access to the game board. From there, teams saw challenges ranging from network packet analysis, system exploitation, reverse engineering, malware analysis, digital forensics and of course plenty of physical challenges! Visit https://www.cyberlympics.org/ for competition information.
